Great place to get Indian food. I recommend the Lorient special chicken which is their restaurant special. It's chicken, peppers , and onions in a creamy sauce. It's not spicy though if that's what you're looking for. Very friendly service. I actually spilled my mango lassie all over the table and my clothes and the waiter offered to give me a free refill. So I ordered a chicken vindaloo an onion bhaghee, a garlic naan bread and a half tandoori chicken via Uber. What did I get, a chicken korma, and a chicken saag. Nothing that I wanted to eat! I was so so dissatisfied because I I was looking forwards to a meal from"one of the oldest Indian restaurants in London". If this was their fault then I can't believe they have survived this long. If it was Ubers fault then I got the wrong curry and paid £25 more than I should have! I tried to tell Uber but absolutely got nowhere! Am considering not using Uber food again and would advise everyone to think carefully before they do! read more

Since my "local" curry house closed several years ago, I have been coming to this one, and it has now become my new "local." The food is outstanding and they remember me every time I walk in the door. It is very clean, the food is fantastic- but make sure you know that if you request it hot- it will be HOT! Quite nice looking place, interior has been probably renovated not so long ago. £22 for poppadum, rice, naan and chicken tikka jalfrezi. And a large Cobra. All were clearly above the average, also size of the dish was about right. Here "hot" actually means something so jalfrezi certainly made my nose run. But that was in a good way! Anyway their "very hot" dishes are probably best left to the proper experts... Maybe 1/3 full around 7pm on Wednesday evening. Cheap comfy easy unpretentious little place which for us fit the bill perfectly. Great spice kick and very generous servings. I have always dreamed of Indian food in London. Check another off my food bucket list. Had the chicken Xacuti and naan with a cucumber and tomato side. The surprise was the side, fresh and clean it cut through the beautiful Xacuti and rounded out a wonderfully flavoursome meal, after which I finished off Keeno's eggplant dish and then D2's murgh makani. The best Indian food I've ever eaten. Hands down. I was visiting from Memphis, and this restaurant was recommended to me, and was very close to where I was staying. I'm so glad I went! I ordered a Strongbow and the Chicken Jalfrezi. The beer was ice cold, refills on it and my water were offered at the perfect times, and the Jalfrezi was spicy and a huge portion. The garlic naan was also fantastic. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting London. It has reasonable prices, good portions, and amazing food. I felt very welcomed and satisfied. The food was delicious and high quality. However the restaurant is small and extremely noisy. If you have any issues with noise, or hearing difficulty, you will want to avoid. The service is confusing. Ours was extremely poor, but the tables on either side (that came in after us) got their food quickly. Maybe we don't know the secret to good service? We were enticed into this little restaurant by the amazing aromas wafting out onto the street. The food was equally delicious! They have a really nice range of different dishes, not just the normal curry house options. We got the tandoori platter starter. The lamb was tender and well flavoured. The mince was a bit dry, but the chicken was nice and moist. For mains we have the Lorient chicken, full of flavour and super tender. Would be happy to eat it anytime! The lamb xacuti was hot but had taste. The lamb just fell apart and the spices had time to marinate on your tongue before the heat kicked in. I'm super excited to have discovered this Indian restaurant just off of Westbourne Grove. For the location, the prices are very reasonable, and the food was very good. We feasted on a very tasty dal with unusual and complex spices, a great aubergine jalfrezi, and some good (but not great) okra. Somehow you can find real gems in your neighbourhood only by opening your eyes. I have walked past Durbar on many occasions but somehow never remembered the restaurant when in mood for an Indian meal. I am really glad I have finally had a chance to discover this well-established and popular place. The food was a good version of what we have come to expect from a local Tandoori restaurant with a mix of well-known favourites and house specials. While enjoying the compulsory (for me!) papadoms and pickes we decided to sample the Lorient Special Chicken and a selection of vegetarian side dishes. All were delicious, especially the chicken. What set Durbar aside from similar establishments is its atmosphere. The interior is recognisably Indian, but with a modern and more minimalist flair. I can't remember the music in detail, but it was more relaxing and more imaginative than the piped Bollywood variety. The waiters were particularly attentive, and the place was packed even on a Sunday night. I won't forget and definitely find my way to Hereford Road again soon. read more

Outstanding restaurant. There were four of us. We all enjoyed our food. The Beef Kali Mirch was delicious.

Good service, we were seated within minutes and a cold Cobra was in my hands in seconds of being seated. A small restaurant with around 40 covers only. The menu has a good selection of starters and mains. A traditional Indian in every aspect. The service was good and the staff were friendly. The starter and main were served quickly and were tasty, not the usual production line fare you would expect in London. I would recommend to anyone who likes Indian. No good at all if you are a tourist. The waiter push you to orden more than you need in a non-polite way... you know what you need specially when you have visit many Indian restaurants in your life...but he looks at you as if you where crazy or so... also pushes you in to make you order more beer and so on.... after that they ask you for a tip....service non included, they say! No way. The food it's ok... the service is very bad. Having never visited the area before we googled local restaurants. The write up for this Indian was great so we looked forward to our meal as we are big curry fans. We were not disappointed!
