The Edge Remodeling built our in ground pool about three years ago, including installing a Hayward heat pump to warm the pool. Recently the heater quit working. The Edge Remodeling stood behind their products and came out right away. When they saw it was a complicated issue, they coordinated with Hayward to get warranty work approved to fix it. It took a while and several trips to troubleshoot, but we just got a new Hayward heat pump installed in time for my brother's trip here for a destination wedding. This was done at no cost under the warranty. Everyone is so excited that we will have a heated pool for several days of fun. I am happy that The Edge Remodeling and Hayward had integrity and honored the warranty. Run. Run fast and far from this company!!!!! Scamming owner (Randy). Terrible, not just bad, absolutely terrible work. Will cut every corner possible. Will say "yes, yes, yes" to your face and then either use unqualified and/or unskilled workers AND the cheapest quality product possible. We have had countless contractors on our property to fix or completely redo work we paid the Edge to do already (rolled into mortgage). The one constant with every one these contractors is "how did this house pass inspection?" Hmmmmmm....Will not give my opinion on how this happened. A recent natural disaster has brought what we have known all along even more to light. Just ONE (of so many) example(s), we had to redo the flooring on the upper level of our home. Absolutely no backer board was used when Edge installed it originally. Our beautiful flooring was laid directly on the original disgusting plywood. We wondered why the tongue and groove was lifting? Why such unevenness?! But I can assure you we paid top dollar for the backer board and the installation of said backer board that was never used and never purchased. We have been in the process of trying to get a very extensive (expensive) pool/ yard remodel done with Edge Remodeling. The experience has been less than satisfactory. We have to constantly reach out for communication, we never know if or when they are going to show up and work. They have left our yard in an embarrassing, unsafe mess most all of the time they have been working here for nearly a year.they insist on collecting 100% of the money or they won't complete the project (our bad for not reading contract closely) so here we sit, our yard a complete mess, virtually unusable after nearly a year and they have all our money! We have repeatedly ask for better communication , even tried having sit down meetings, positive feedback, nothing seems to work to get these guys focused and our project completed efficiently and timely. I think part of the problem is they may not have the skill set to do the work we hired them for. They have had to tear out several things and start over when the tile they installed sank after it rained for instance. Buyer beware! read more

We hired The Edge remodeling to landscape our entire backyard. This included a pool, 4500 sqft of grass, about 2000 sqft of travertine and add about 1000 sqft of cement. Overall the process was rather painful and very slow. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why work was not being done, having to alert them to issues in the work being done and needing multiple visits to fix incorrectly installed items. The pool eventually turned out well, the grass needed several revisits to get it all working, the cement was down but was not slanted properly and eventually got foot prints and discoloration. For the money I paid I spent way to much of my own time having to monitor and manage what was happening. Plus my yard was never fully cleaned. This company can complete the job just beware of what you are the homeowner and going to need to do to get it done. read more

Had a carport to garage conversion done. It looks good. But that is cosmetic. When it rains, it leaks under the floorboards. Tried calling several times and no response. Finally email giving a notice that we'll contact the ROC if not responded to caught his attention. Shocking, this was the first he heard of said contact. So the problem is explained, and he says it's normal for it to leak thats why pretreated lumber is used. Well the problem with that much water is it's wicks up into the non treated lumber and not to mention the steel nails that are used will eventually rust out. We asked why don't you use flashing. Can't use flashing on the ground is how I understood his response. Yes, you can. I do. Have friends in the construction industry. Another response is that turn down how much water is put on the landscaping. Like I often water cement. Long story short, they do not stand behind their product. This is not been resolved addressed or even a courtesy site visit. The construction job should have been permitted as required which at the time the person having the work done did not know this and I even asked and he said no. This doesn't need to permit. Be aware of this company. read more

Would NEVER recommend this company! When deciding on the project and meeting with them, great communication and came over multiple times. Once they received the deposit, we never saw them again until complaints. They say they manage the project, but they do not. We had a firepit reconfigured and they had to fix it twice because they didn't do it correctly the first time. Added travertine to our patio and had to do that twice because they didn't line up the pattern correct. Didn't cement in the travertine around the planter box. Our iron gates rusted after one week because they were spray painted! So many issues and every time we called and expressed our frustration, we received texts back. We never knew when contractors were going to show up after multiple times of asking to please let us know. Finally after being tired of dealing with it we cut the project short and said we were done. The next week had a call asking if they could stop by to pick up a check!! Didn't come review the work to make sure it was finished or if the customer was happy, nothing. This is a glorified Angie's list or yelp. You pay them 30% of your total cost for them managing the job and it's a joke! read more

I had The Edge Remodeling come out for advice on a design and a quote to do a backyard patio and pool deck. They came out and we had a good conversation on ideas and they took measurements for the proposed design. I was excited to hear they could possibly do the work in my timeframe and would provide a 3D walkthrough design and quote by the end of that week. When I followed up at the end of the week I was told they forgot about a trade show they were participating in and would have it to me by end of day as promised. That didn't happen. I followed up on Monday the following week and was again told on how this job was a priority for them and I would see the design and quote by the end of the day. That didn't happen. I followed up on what I said would be the last time on Tuesday and was met with a more brief response that said I would get the design and quote by the end of the day. That also didn't happen. It's now the end of week two and I have not heard a word from them. How can I possibly trust a business on such a big job when I can't even get designs or quotes when promised. read more

After a year and a half, my house needed some repairs to the work previously provided on an all-over remodel, completed in large part by this company. Unfortunately, the ROC had to be called in to mediate the issues. After getting a directive from the registrar, all work was completed to my satisfaction. I still feel that the company has poor communication skills, and that they do the minimal amount of work possible-not taking pride in their work, as some companies do. (floor boards were cracked upon re-installation of tiles, and they had to re-do their re-do in five tiles-making my time off work last longer.) What made me raise the review by another star was the fact that Randy Appel was friendly towards me and he also repaired other things that his men had done a year and a half ago, even though they were not on the directive from the registrar. I was still under warranty for their workmanship, but it was nice that he didn't make a big deal of it, and it made me feel better about the whole experience. All in all, I would not use them again, but I am happy that my issues were resolved. read more

This person sure isn't interested in new business and wasted my time. Initially he called and got all the details and gave me a rough price. He had me send pictures as well because he was to busy to come and do an evaluation himself. Said he would get a hold of me in a couple days. A week later I call in the morning and leave a message. Still no response. About 6:30pm I text and asked what the deal was. He said he just happened to be working on my estimate at that moment (amazing isn't it). I get the estimate - very generalized for $400 over the $1500 verbal initial one.He wasted in all 2 weeks of my time as I need this started next week. For being the "Senior Project Manager" it tells you a lot about this company! They aren't reliable and don't communicate! I don't care!!!!! I don't care if I am a little job!!!! Poor service and unprofessional. The company does not return calls once the job is completed and their is a problem. Once job was completed found out the permits were never filed. Then once submitted the permits they never and still haven't requested the inspection for air oval that was done almost a year ago. read more

The worst company I have ever worked with! They do not get the permits filed when the say they will yet complete the job and wait for you to get fined by the county for not getting a permit. They never answer their phone nor do they return calls. One they finally get the permit they do not follow up with the inspection, which means you will still owe the fine by the county. Last year we moved to a home that didn't have a pool. I went out and received numerous pool estimates along with hardscape estimates. Being that I never had a pool installed I was at a loss for what the pricing might look like. I went to most of the big pool companies. (California Pools, Presidential Pools, Caribbean Pools) To my surprise they were all so expensive and didn't have the time to really sit down with me and understand what I wanted. We ended up going with The Edge Remodeling. Randy came out, listened to what we wanted and had plans drawn up to share with us. We made some modifications and then signed the final contract. Construction began within a few days of us signing. Randy took the lead from the beginning and kept me informed through every step of the process. I received emails, text messages and personal visits almost daily to keep me informed of what was going on. I work from home and I watched the pool construction on a daily basis. The workers really knew what they were doing and took pride in their work. Prior to the start of the project my yard was a disaster. I'm so proud of what it looks like now. We have many friends and have people over all the time. It's so nice to hear them comment on how nice it looks. It really makes us feel good and know that we made the right decision on selecting The Edge Remodeling for our pool construction and hardscape. I had the most fortunate opportunity to work with Edge Remodeling and Mike Price on a demo and transformation of a front lawn conversion to a desert landscape. After multiple attempts over 6 months with other contractors, I was beginning to think this would not happen like I envisioned. I was rescued by a visit by Mike.
