The woman at the front desk (I didn't get her name, sadly,) spent a long time talking about placement with me, transferring my design to paper in different sizes and laying them out on my arm to see where they would fit best, how to get the best layout for what I wanted, etc. Because my work was rather simple, I was able to meet with an artist named Lisa immediately and discuss the process further and review some of my options. (Side note - I had already been to another tattoo place in town that morning, and I just hadn't liked the vibe of the place. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the other shop, as they've got a great reputation. It just wasn't a good fit for for me, and I wanted to make sure I was in good hands for a major step like this one.) Lisa was available to do the tattoo right then, and the entire appointment took just under an hour. I am terrified of needles, so I had anticipated having someone sit on my chest to get me through the ordeal. Not only didn't it hurt, it wasn't even vaguely uncomfortable; I was actually disappointed when the whole thing was over. I'm sure a large part of this was due in fact to Lisa's skill with the gun as well as her ability to keep me talking while the tattoo was being done. I'm an English teacher, and we probably spent 90% of our time together talking about short stories that we love. In all, I could not have had a better experience. The shop is industrial and antique in decor. He offers a comfortable environment with the option of music and Netflix to help pass the time. We started about 3-4 weeks in advance with me providing a tattoo idea. He provided some feedback, asked for some influences and then put together a tattoo idea that I absolutely loved. He fused the artistry of Charlie Medina with a character from the Avengers. It took approximately 9.5 hours to complete and it was worth every mile traveled and every penny spent. I was searching the web last minute for a tattoo artist to do a memorial piece on my mother for her birthday. I am so glad I came across this shop. I instantly loved every artists work. (They all have an Instagram which is so helpful to showcase their work.) The shop was immediately able to accommodate the date and time we needed. My mom was tattooed by Megan who did a great job! She designed my moms tattoo ahead of time so my mom was able to sit down right away to be tattooed. My moms tattoo is the quote with the feather and birds. My tattoo was done by Angelo who also did an outstanding job. My tattoo was much more detailed and complex and Angelo was so knowledgeable and absolutely nailed it! My piece is the one of my grandmothers actual writing and actual fingerprints. I couldn't be more happier with such a unique and special piece. It is hands down my favorite tattoo I've ever gotten. This visit was well worth the hour drive and we will definitely be back. To add, the shop was spotless and they are really good about sanitation and really take their time with every client. This shop is under new managment with a new staff since the last two reviews were written, between my husband and I we have a combined six tattoes by Tom S. and I have multiple pircings by Laura. The desk clerk Kathy is hilarious and always helpfull and the owner Angelo is always willing to discuss tattoo ideas and help you pick art if you dotn already have something in mind. with a very relaxed lounge with great music free coffee and often treats (ususaly provided by myself) along with tons of ink mags to browse while you wait or get inked this place has deffanitly made a turn for the better! read more

I've gotten two tattoos from Angelo, and it couldn't have been a better experience. Angelo was super easy to work with and communicate with. I provided him several reference pictures for both tattoos and he exceeded my expectations with what he came up with. All the other artists have been super friendly and invested in their work. The shop is super clean and all the artists take pride in their sanitary practices -- I lost count how many times Angelo changed gloves. I can't recommend the Edge Tattoo enough! read more

I had a tattoo done early in the summer at the edge tattoo in south windsor by a guy named Kevin who completely messed my tattoo it looked terrible. I was so embarrassed to even show it. It was my first tattoo so i did not do all my research like i should have. So having a messed up tattoo was partly my fault for not looking into it first. Long story short after much looking and researching i found ironically a guy named Kevin at guideline tattoo that assured me that he could fix it and make my tatt look so much better. It took me a while to actually go back and get it fixed i was so scared that i would end up with a messed up tattoo after this there was no turning back it would have to stay like what ever it ended up looking like. Well i am so happy to say wow I ended up with such a good tattoo Kevin was so nice and willing to work with me to make me happy with my tattoo. I let him know this was going to be my only tatt i was not going to get anymore! He honestly worked so hard on it to make it look like what i wanted it to look like. I know it is not easy to fix up someones tattoo specially when it is so messed up. I finally love my tattoo and it is not even finished yet i still have to go back and have him put the color on. I would also like to inform everyone that the tattoo that i had before many tattoo artists did not even want to fix it. They just told me to cover it up with something different, others told me that they could try to fix it but the face could never be fixed because it was already so messed up. Well thankfully Kevin was able to fix the face and everything else. I will post a pic when the tattoo is finished.

I was impressed by the content of the article and decided to reach out and ask her opinion about the design I wanted to have done. She responded in very short order indicating she would be happy to help me. I live an hour away but really felt good vibes and proceeded to make the appointment. I just returned home and am so happy I made the choice to have Brittany help me with my tattoo. Her work space is inviting and warm but more importantly spotless. Her attention to detail is very evident and it is obvious she is diligent in maintaining a clean and sterile setting. I was a little nervous going in but would gladly return to Pins&Needles if I decide to get a 2nd.
