I have had this appointment scheduled for some time, I even had to reschedule my initial appointment almost last minute due to an unexpected trip Out of state and had to quarantine when I came home. There was no issue with the reschedule. Anyway before I came in I started reading reviews and was less than thrilled. But hey I still really wanted my cover up done and there were some really good reviews too so I shot the dice. Very pleased that I did. Nick was awesome, and was very welcoming, knowledgeable and patient while I was deciding exactly what I wanted. We had some good light convo and he delivered exactly what I expected. I received a bad tattoo from an inexperienced artist which could be touched up a bit to correct it, but the service and bad attitude of the business owner is the real downside of this business. I am not a big fan of posting negative reviews because I appreciate and support local business, but they want to charge me to clean up their mess because I did not return immediately. This was my very first tattoo....now I'm not sure how I'll get tattooed anywhere else! I was visiting from VA and went in with my cousin who is local. Angelo (her artist) and Dennis (my artist) were both excellent! We watched the whole set up and they answered our questions (I had a lot of them) without hesitation. Dennis convinced me to go with color for my art and I'm so happy that I did. The result is incredible. He achieved colors and shading that I didn't think was possible for tattoos. Not one to bash any shop or person but I'd say I'm not the only one to receive an unprofessional and overpriced tattoo here, although it was my first at the time I definitely have learned from then. Don't let them take advantage of you if you're just getting into tattoos because they will. I got my nose pierced yesterday by Laura. The staff at The Edge and Laura was incredibly welcoming and patient with me and with all my questions/circumstances. Laura didn't rush me or made me feel bad for asking to make any changes, she encouraged it. She was very helping with aftercare and made me feel comfortable to come back if i had any questions. I hope to come back to have her take a look to see if everything is health properly. I will likely go back to purchase and have her change out my piercing when it has healed. Completely unprofessional. Called to see if they could take my best friend and I as walk-ins, they said YES so we went. Got there and the guy who was going to tattoo us had THE WORST attitude. Refused to tattoo on the area i wanted THEN rolled his eyes and said he doesn't tattoo on napes where my friend was getting hers (mind you, we called in advance and were told it was no problem) my friend showed him what we were going to get for a design and she said "something cute and easy" to which he sarcastically and rudely replied "if it's so easy why don't you just tattoo yourself " WHAT THE HELL?!! Needless to say we left and let them n know we would absolutely not be back again. I got my second holes pierced with Laura yesterday. She was able to help me as soon as I walked in. She and the other two guys there were super friendly and chatty. Laura was great, she was patient while I picked out earrings, and was very thorough with cleaning and making sure that I was happy with the location of the piercings. Definitely reccomend this shop. I had my tragus pierced at another tattoo shop out of town. It was not a happy piercing and the captive bead ring that was put in irritated my ear so bad. It was borderline infected and very red/warm to the touch. I went to The Edge and Laura was absolutely amazing. She took a look at my ear and then helped me pick out a new neometal labret. She helped me switch the jewelry over (my piercing was 2 months old at this point) and ever since, my piercing has been much much happier! She explained the aftercare and within a week, my new piercing finally started the healing process. Laura saved my piercing and I would go back for any future ones. Went there tonight to get a cartilage piercing done with a friend. I called beforehand so they were expecting us. Angelo who owns the place is awesome, nice, chill, and great to talk to before and after the piercing - side note he also has great taste in music. The work at the shop is super too. They care about the work they do and their clients. I did not feel rush in there at all, even for a simple piercing, really took their time to know what I wanted and where I wanted it. Also very informative about the after care. I had piercings done in the past, but none felt at comfortable and as smoothly as this. Also for a great price. This afternoon, myself, my sister and my mother chose to get some piercings and headed over to The Edge. My sister and I both got nose piercings and the three of us all got helix piercings. The owner, and our piercer, Angelo, did a fantastic job at answering our questions while being friendly and extremely professional. With three nervous ladies and our entourage, Angelo remained collected, accurate and gentle with each of our piercings. I know my mother was the most nervous yet she thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the atmosphere, and having a great piercer - we all did. I would have no reservations to recommend The Edge and Angelo to anyone and look forward to return there for future piercings. read more

Very unprofessional shop. Receptionist was rude and unorganized. I called to book an appointment and they told me they couldn't tell me a price range over the phone of the tattoo I wanted. I told them it was a small heart and maybe about an inch big. When I got there I was told I needed a deposit to book my time. Never at any other shop did I need to leave a deposit especially as for a small design as this. I told them I did not have the 50 dollar deposit they demanded. I was than told rudely that I would need to come back with a deposit if I wanted to be helped and they would not book the day I wanted. The day I was there the artists were literally sitting around doing nothing so they could have very well have helped me. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Had my nose pierced here last Friday...deeply regretting it now. My stud was sinking by Sunday morning i called the shop to voice my concerns was told to come in however the piercer couldn't wait till 6pm (which was the closing hour). Told them I would come in Monday because I was out of town to make back before 5pm. I woke up Monday morning my stud had totally sank into my flesh coming out the opposite direction of my nose blood had clotted overnight and I was in excuriating pain!!!! Called the shop but they don't open till 1pm. Luckily a friend referred me to another piercing shop in West Hartford I Googled them and found out they are the BEST shop out there won numerous awards and they're are only predominantly a piercing shop. I went there and from one look at my nostril I was rushed to the back room for care. I learnt not only was the stud used the wrong size for my nose it was also OUT DATED!!! The angle of my piercing was Wrong...i was so furious because I had to endure the pain of having that stud removed. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO COME TO THIS SHOP FOR PIERCING . read more

Went in about a week ago and was not pleased. NEVER in the 40 years of my life was I ever belittled like the guy running the front desk (big ear and nose gauges guy) was to me. I called the day before asking if I could get a design done with someone on the phone and they said that would be fine. When I got there the receptionist said the artist I wanted to see was booked up with and sarcastically and laughing at me said I should have put down a deposit. Well someone on the phone the day before should have told me that. How was i supposed to know when you book something it isnt really booked. Overall I wasn't happy with the shop. My daughter wanted a nose ring and was told once over the phone it would be well over a hundred dollars. Well I took her to moonflower not to far from this place she got the piercing with jewelry included for 35 dollars. Also I called other tattoo shops and they booked me without any deposit and I didn't have to deal with the hassle the edge put me through. NEVER had I heard of a place with a deposit for a tattoo of a simple design without having an in person consultation. DO NOT COME HERE. read more

We had an appointment for Monday at 1:00. Angelo was to have our artwork done for an upcoming appointment on the Friday the 19th. We arrived ten minutes early for our appointment and immediately got to looking at the design for my eye tattoo. It was literally a joke! It looked like a 5 year old scribbled it! I immediately told him I did not like it and I said its a good thing we have this appointment to work on this design! He then stated his 1:00 appointment just walked in!? We were his 1:00 appointment! This was completely unprofessional and I asked for my deposit back. He said he understood but was not going to return the entire deposit, he wanted to retain $50 dollars for his time!? He would send me a check for the other $100. Why a check I asked why not issue a credit to my card immediately? They took my deposit immediately to hold this time slot to design my tattoo! I said fine just mail me the check and I will file a dispute with my credit card company. He stated if your going to file a dispute you will get nothing back! Absolutely redicuolous and unprofessional! Needless to say, I have filed a dispute for my deposit back and will file a small claims case if need be. The only good thing to come out of this is thankfully I do NOT have this hideous joke of at tattoo perminately on me!! Go elsewhere!! read more
