Online purchase of a software package was a dud!…read more EMAIL has not arrived with link for downloading the software I bought at 2:30 today. The item is software that I can download. I have already had 2 chats about this item today and started my 3rd. 1) online system would not let me purchase because it was "out of stock" but it's software, so not a physical thing to stock. System finally allowed purchase. Strangely still shows as backordered. 2) Asked when I'd get the link to download, as I've done this before and it was immediate. Chat response was: should be delivered within 4 hours. 3) 6 hours later since purchase and no email with link to download. The system still shows it is BACKORDERED!! That may be why the link to download has not been sent. The system still thinks its sending a physical thing. This software download process is a Big Fail!

I went by Magnum Wood tonight to get a few things--a lead holder (which is a fancy architectural…read moreterm for a pencil for drafting) and some tracing paper--and wish to attest they're just as awesome as when I first set foot in their establishment back in September of 2009. They've expanded their custom fabrication services with an emphasis on not only wood but also Plexiglass and large-scale fabrication of interior furnishings. If you've been in any of the local Mochi restaurant locations, Magnum did the really cool, futuristic booths, counters, and wall constructions. Run by an architect and UF architecture students, they carry all manner of supplies needed for making architectural models and also for drawing and art classes (pencils, Rapidograph technical pens, various fine papers, drafting tools). I can seriously think of no complaints about Magnum, although I wish their selection of traditional drafting tools was larger, I cannot fault them on that because I know only a handful of people would buy these if they carried more than they do since most drafting is done on computers now. Gainesville and UF are very very fortunate to have a drafting/art/design source like Magnum.

Particularly frustrating when I could hear people cutting in the shop. As amazon has comparable prices, I will not be shopping locally for supplies anymore.

I sold an old Brother printer to the owner of this place today and his attitude really impressed…read moreme. He was extremely friendly, fair, and knowledgeable. He gave me detailed directions to the location because they are hard to find and then came out to my car to carry the heavy printer away. I spoke to other printer stores in my search of someone who could repair or buy my printer and they were kind of rude about my ignorance of the topic.
