My partner booked this adult show and we went last night to the Rio Hotel. Omg, it was amazing. The burlesque show, Star Wars parody. Super bad ass and most definitely will come back again for sure. Hands down to all the lady dancers and as well as the male dancers. All did a phenomenal job. If you get a drink they have the empire strips back, you can take with you. No phones or cameras during the show. At the end, they will let you take pics ans vid with no flash or lights on. Super cool experience. They do have merch. I got the wookie magazine, poster and tshirts. I was very impressed with the show. If you are in Vegas and you are on the fence, just book the show and go. I would most definitely recommend this show. The restrooms are super nice and big. They have tons of mirrors and seating inside. Once again, highly recommended. During my time in Vegas for a conference, I wanted to fill it with shows to keep me busy. This is an affordable show compared to many of the other shows out there. My only catch was, it's not walkable from the stripe, I had to taxi to the Rio. For some reason I thought it was at the NY hotel. Looks like it used to be there and moved to the Rio. The theater is located on the 2nd floor near Smash Burger. I didn't know that you can't bring bottles into the show? Doh! They were able to watch it, kind of. Lucky me and it was there after the show ended. Seats are nice. They are movable. Now onto the show. It's so much fun!!!! The crowd really got into it, and so did I. The songs pair well with the dances. Go in and have fun. This isn't a literal interpretations of the Star Wars, it's pure fun. There is a bar and snacks that you can purchase. Unfortunately right now I have invisalign and can't eat or drink anything without taking out the trays. Boo. There is a mini gift shop. I saw a couple of shirts that I wanted to buy, but chickened out. Have a blast and enjoy the show. read more

The Empire Strips Back is a caberate parody on Star Wars; Star Wars fan or not, you'll have a freakin' great time. The music ranges from Biggie to Taylor Swift to all out 80s. Ladies are hot and talented; fun and sexy choreography. This show is located inside the NY Hotel; and there is a bar once you gain entry; there's also intermission (and restrooms). There's not a bad seat in the house, so you can spend a bit more to sit closer, but honestly, the cheap seats are great too. read more

What surprised me most was how seriously the performers took their roles. The show is full satire, but the commitment from every actor made it even funnier, sexier, and way more entertaining than I expected. I attended with my boyfriend, and we couldn't stop laughing the entire time. We tried several of the themed cocktails (all solid and fun), soaked up the energy of the crowd, and had an absolute blast from start to finish. The whole experience felt playful, cheeky, and perfectly ridiculous in the best way. I attended as part of a Yelp Elite event, my first as an Elite member , and felt genuinely honored to be included. That said, the show absolutely stands on its own and is just a great night out. If you're a Star Wars fan, this is the show you're looking for. Surprisingly fun Star Wars show. But they can't use Star Wars music except the main theme song. But the other music was great with the performances. Dancers were so much fun to look at and they did a great job! This show is on dark Monday which means not many shows are on Monday evenings. So this is a great choice of entertainment. This is better than I expected. The costumes and sets are fire. The dancers amazing. Although the commedian host was throwing cheesy jokes like they were frisbees, his bits lightened the mood in between dancers. For the more conservative crowd, there is no actual nudity in this show, and it doesn't need it. Just watching Leia, c3po, r2, han, and jaba doing their thing was enough. I had been wanting to see this burlesque show ever since I heard about it several years ago when I was living in Southern California. I was super excited when I saw that it was right down the street at the Rio! Remember, this is a striptease, not a full-on nudie show. Very tastefully done. It's fun, funny, sexy and totally entertaining. All of the dancers are top notch and the show itself is well choreographed with great music. The host of the show, which was lando calrissian's cousin Eric, did a great job getting the audience hyped up for each of the individual scenes. I'm not going to give anything away, all I'm going to say is from the very first stacked till the end of the show is so well done, the costumes were on point, and the performances were top notch. It was really cool that they had a specialty cocktails for the show. And they are definitely high-powered. You will definitely want to knock back a few of those help loosen you up for the show! Bottom line? This is a great show, and one that is well we're seeing. You will have a great time. Show was very fun and if you're a Star Wars fan, I recommend checking out. We did 2 cocktails that were strong and sweet. I got the mind trick and the hairy one. The mind trick was similar to an AMF drink and hairy one had a lot of coffee flavor. The show was great with amazing dancers and cool costumes. The music went along with the characters and it was all entertaining to watch. We enjoyed the Han Solo/chewie, slave Leia, and the Emperor Palpatine dance. They were all funny and great dancing. The theater wasn't too big and there was a balcony seating as well. The chairs were too close together and it was hard getting out of our seat. I have seen this show advertised all summer. I was thinking it would be just okay but it was actually very sexy and funny. The production was great. They bring onto the stage pieces of the movie that I thought could not be replicated. I was very impressed with the production. The actors were very good too. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The bar was fast and bathroom was clean and elegant. The seating area is pretty cramped though so if you are sitting in the middle and need to go to the bathroom, good luck. Other than that, the show was fantastic. I bought a ticket to see this show when the started their pre-sale. The showroom, on the second floor of the Masquerade Tower at the Rio, is where the Chippendales used to perform. The doors open about 7 PM and there is seating. There is a bar and merch area opensyou can buy from. At 7:30, the house opens and the ushers, each with a light sabre, shows you your seat. The show started a few minutes after 8 PM. There's a man who introduces the show and each section of it. You are warned in the beginning that there is no photography allowed except when he announces it's OK for the last number of the evening. The show is very well planned and executed. The music, dancing, the ladies, the props, and the costumes--everything is done very well! Thee evening moves along quickly. At about an hour into the show, there is a 15 minute intermission. Time to visit the bar, buy some merch, or leave some of the bar you consumed in the restrooms. All of the Star Wars characters are represented during one or more of the numbers. I was a bit left behind sometimes. I was never a bad g fan except fir R2D2 and C3. Some I knew while others were new to me. My favorite numbers were Jabba, just before intermission, and the second number right after the second half began. I don't think I've been to a show here where the energy of the crowd was so high. A lot of laughter, applause, and enjoyment. The show ended just aboiut 10PM. With its location, it's easy to park in the garage for the Masquerade Tower. You walk in the door, and the theatre is right there. I wish them a long run at the Rio. They deserve if t, and you'll leave with a smile. read more

This burlesque show is beyond campy and hillarious. The drinks at the bar are very strong. The seats are a bit cramped so be prepared to get to know your neighbor. There is not a single bad seat in the house. The intermission was just long enough to choose to get a second drink or go use the restroom. We were in Vegas for a long weekend and knew we needed to do at least one Vegas show. We had seen so many adds and knew we had to try this spot. We walked up almost at showtime, you can only buy tickets online OR at the box office. They're the same price at both so just do it on your phone. The people at the doors were so nice and hyped us up. The bar was good - lots of fun drinks. Overpriced and super sweet, but expected at a place like this. We indulged in one. For the show, we really expected some sort of storyline and...this isn't that. We were a little confused at first but once we realized and got into it, we didn't care. Each set was different and fun, and we never knew what to expect. The host was also really fun and interactive. The dancers were awesome - some formally trained that made it an art show mixed with stripping. Mostly tasteful, but some fun Vegas feel to it. If you want full on stripping, this isn't the show for you, but with my husband and friends, it was awesome. The energy was great in the crowd, we had a blast. I'm sure there are plenty of "better" shows in the city but for the theme and the acts, this was so fun and well worth the money. read more

Empire Strips Back is one of the newest addition to the Vegas strip shows.Located inside Rio Hotel the auditorium looks kinda old, seating was basically a bunch of steel chairs lined up together which wasn't comfortable at all! Very cute. Liked the theme. They had an MC come out in between each performance to introduce the next performer. The seating is a little snug but nothing terrible by any means. They had cocktails and snacks available for purchase before the show. There was lots of crowd participation. The costumes and set design were a 10/10. The show is filled with lots of satire. Great costumes! That may have been the best part of the show. The show had no real theme/plot it was following. Basically girls dancing in Star Wars costumes. The Carbonite Han and Bounty Hunter Leia were the best of the night. However the Boba Fett number was fantastic. Lots of laughs despite it not exactly being a parody storyline. The MC Eric/Lando was super fun. He showed up with all the jokes. It was good enough entertainment. This show was a blast be warned security will pat you down or want to at the beginning of the event. Most of the event is dim light. There are visual effects. Ladies are incredible at the dances and the songs you will laugh you will definitely be entertained and there's a part where you just might lose your mind because it's so much awesomeness to process. My friend and I are fans of Star Wars and neither of us had seen a strip show in quite some time. She got a discount on good seats, so we decided to see the show the night before our vacation ended. You go through a quick security checkpoint, scan tickets and get seated. They have small, but clean bathrooms. There is a seating area next to a fully stocked bar. I ordered a total of two cocktails and a shot. Prices of the drinks were comparable to other Vegas shows and tasted really yummy. As for the show itself, it's called a strip show. There wasn't as much actual stripping than what I recall from other strip shows, but i didn't care. The lighting, the music, the costumes and the dancing and acting were all fantastic and entertaining. The people were all beautiful and you could tell they all had prior dancing experience. The was an emcee that was hilarious and he reminds you to be respectful and not to take pictures or video until the last number of the show. It was great. I'd see it again and I highly recommend it for any Star Wars fan, or anyone who just wants to see a good and entertaining show while in Vegas. read more

-Accessibility Issues- I am late-Deafened with cochlear implants. I enjoy hearing sound effects and what-not, but often can't understand speech or song lyrics and I'm not fluent in ASL. As a result, at shows like this I need live captions. I requested real-time captioning (CART) over 2 months in advance. They waited until the last minute to actually secure it (despite weekly followups) and then they didn't make sure it was properly setup and working. As a result, the remote captioner couldn't hear anything and there were basically no captions throughout the entire show. No song lyrics or song titles, and perhaps 10% of the dialogue was captured. Frustrated and disappointed that my partner and I each spent over $100 on tickets to a show, only to miss at least half of it. I emailed the team as soon as the show started asking for help and acknowledgement and got no response at that point. This isn't ADA-compliant. read more

Amazing choreography and excellent accompanying music. The costume design looks well tailored to the dancers and the routines are alluring and make you want to watch again. Only negative was when the MC Eric made an offhand racist Asian joke about "lightsabers" and tried to move along the show when he got rightfully boo'd for it. No mea culpa or anything, just tried to laugh it off. Kinda killed the momentum of the show for a bit before the next routine brought it back to life. Honestly, if it wasn't for that, this would be my highlight in Vegas. It still probably is, but it left a slight sour tinge to the experience. The show was ok. However, the way we were treated by the security members waiting to get in was terrible! They were rude, condescending, and incredibly unprofessional. Ruined our whole evening. Wouldn't recommend the show mostly due to that. Plenty of good shows in Vegas that treat customers well. Talked to the House Manager about it, and asked if we could have a valuable and sentimental item returned after the show that security had taken; she said she would check on it but we never saw her again. First off, do not go to the main parking garage. This venue is alllll the way on the other side of the casino, past the Voodoo lounge and steak restaurant; by Smashburger (which the MC said try after the show but it was already closed, like most of the restaurants in the casino before midnight). We barely got there in time for the show. There are stairs for the venue, so I'm not sure anyone w mobility issues can see it. They do have bathrooms in the space, just gendered I think and they have a little store to by merch. Venue music was too loud. Burlesque survives on the performer hearing the audience. We were continually drowned out by the music so that we had to practically lose our voices to be heard and sound quality for all songs wasn't great. Bass was overblown for the Portishead number especially. The too loud music continued at intermission and made it easy for the bartender to not understand a request for just tonic water, my bf was directed to a can--which the bartender opened before my bf could see what it was and then told him that they don't accept CASH just card, so he didn't even know how much it was, was just told to tap to pay. He was sold an alcoholic drink that had tonic water in it--I'm sober and he doesn't drink really. But he had to drink this since we were both dry from shouting so much and it was paid for, besides him being frustrated by being sold something he didn't want. Yes we shouted and clapped and stomped our feet, but the dancers could probably only barely hear us, though they did their best to keep eye contact with those they could see. Were they great dancers? Welllll, they looked better dancing by themselves than with anyone. Sorry to say it looked like they all practiced the moves alone, so when they came together they were not in sync with each other. The Twins performance would have been amazing if they sync'd AND the music wasn't ruined. The best thing about the venue was the props. They looked right out of the movie sets overall. Worst? The MC Eric, he tried too hard to be a good MC and fell flat; felt like a tired script and crowd work wasn't great either. He even brought the current politics into his schtick--was not trying to hear anything of that when I came to forget about this Galaxy. He wasn't funny and begged for money from the audience since "we couldn't throw money at the dancers". I couldn't believe he said someone in the audience had seen this 4 times. I love Star Wars a decent amount for a GenXer, but there's no way it's good enough to spend over $130 for two tickets and see it more than once. There is no photography allowed until the end number which has no burlesque just props and costumes, and people still had to be told to not use their flashes. If you like Star Wars, and know nothing of burlesque and its history, you might find this ok. I was not expecting Dita VonTeese, but these dancers were not giving burlesque, and there were only 5-6 ladies doing multiple numbers and two men. Don't worry, the men don't show anything other than a bit of butt cheek briefly. Still managed to make pretty much all the men in the audience uncomfortable. read more

Disappointing. We first saw this show in the summer and loved it. So when we got visitors from California we took them to see it. It was so disappointing.. They cut all the funny skits and we were just left with a boring MC and a series of repetitive strip tease numbers that were mostly tease and little strip. The old show had hilarious numbers involving Han Solo and the Wookie to a Backstreet Boys song and another fun skit with the Emperor and a Miley Cyrus song. All that was cut out of the show. I have no idea why they would cut the best parts of the show but we'll never go again. read more

The show was amazing!! I have nothing bad to say about any of the performers A star lost for the host of the show. The host/emcee Lando/Eric was fun and engaging at times, but he put off a vibe of being very casual and "winging it," like he wasn't hosting trivia night at a local pub. It didn't seem to vibe with the highly prepared performers and performances. I would have liked to see the host get to "know" the audience a little more, not constantly refer to the audience as "Las Vegas," as most attendees are not locals. The audience interaction consisted of shout out favorite Star Wars thing, make Wookie sounds, I say this you say that sort of thing. Bottom line- less narcissism from the host making it all about him; more getting to know the audience. Other than that- highly recommended show. read more
