I was in search of a soap dish of all things...this store has something for everyone. We all made purchases...a skirt (we all want one for ourself!), some candle sticks, and I found a heart shaped divided bowl that could be for my soap but instead is currently holding my jewelry. I love hearts so it will be put to use. The price was fair. We found the counter to be very friendly and certainly will come back when in town. read more

Lots of random stuff from many different booths. There is a ton of stuff outside, so make sure you walk the perimeter and check it out. It takes a while to look through all the merchandise since there is such a variety and it is almost like a collection of various booths. I decided to visit here on a Saturday afternoon in downtown Castle Rock. I'm finding that there's a lot to do in this charming town. The Emporium is located diagonal across from Festival Park. It's also next to Castle Rock Municipal Court and Police Department. Reserve plenty of time to browse through the various sections of products they have. I was impressed with their selection of frozen meats which is inside a decent sized stand up freezer, immediately to the right after you enter the store. They also have a nice selection of homemade frozen pies and a display of various jams nearby. They also have a nice section of various hot sauces, BBQ sauces, and spices. I also like that they have a display of men's hygiene products. The Budweiser soap was interesting. The store is also clean. Staff is not too far away to assist. I like that they don't follow you around or immediately approach you asking if you need help with anything. Also, there is only one floor to this place but they pack quite a bit into their store with plenty of room to navigate throughout. The good thing about visiting here is that you can go next door to an antique store to browse. Overall, The Emporium sells a lot of home based products. Prices seem reasonable as well. I recommend checking them out sometime. There is also a cute coffee shop located in a house across the street from here. read more

After brunching just down the street, my mom and I decided to make shopping our cardio for the day and ventured into The Emporium = which was downright awesome. Here's why: ++ The space is LARGE, offers ample parking, is walking distance from Wilcox St and organized well - basically a large square(ish) loop, allowing for easy maneuvering while visiting each stall. Sure, it's a little crowded with goodies which can seem overwhelming, but take your time to visit each space, as they are worth it! ++ The concept is truly unique! Each "stall" is a different local vendor selling their signature items. Ranging from clothes, spices, jewelry, Colorado inspired gifts and more - there is something for everyone! I left with a handful of items that I'm excited to show off! ++ Staff is so friendly, welcoming and nice! After realizing we were interested in more than a few items, a staff member approached us asking us if we'd like a small cart rather than carry all our items around - which was super helpful and sweet! ++ COVID policies are in full effect! Masks are required, social distancing is promoted and there are plenty of containers of hand sanitizer and cleaning taking place to ensure our safety! ++ SALES GALORE! We love The Emporium!! I've lived in the areas for over two and a half years now and I wasted the first year and a half not wandering in. What is wrong with me? Highlights include multiple small businesses operating in one larger space. Each business has their own "booth" setup so you can wander and find a little bit of everything here. The Emporium has so many options for nice gifts that I both and have received. Candles, mugs, jewelry, tie dye items, men's items, tea (loose & bagged), candy, home decor, clothing and practically anything else you can think of. Most importantly, they carry Hammond's candy bars. We love Midnight Snack and buy these as a local treat to share with friends and family. The perfect spot to wander for an hour or three! read more

I have shopped at The Emporium for years. I bring out of state guests, I drive from Colorado Springs & I even bought many items to help decorate our newly built home in Black Forest after we lost our house in the 2013 fire. I know it's my fault for not noticing the "NO RETURN" signs on the counter, but I didn't. I bought a hat for a special occasion that had a security device inside it when I tried it on. The device was removed & when I returned home I found that the hat did not fit me properly, so I drove back up to Castle Rock the next day to return, exchange or get a credit. Didn't get any of those so I have a $75 hat I cannot wear. I understand policies & rules and fools who do not read signs but sometimes those policies & rules could be bent a little to keep a good customer. read more

This is the cutest place. A friend of mine is a vendor here and I felt bad that I'd never stopped in. I attended one of the girls night event last month. The inside looks like an older farmhouse or other building. It's huge inside and each vendor has their "store or shop" area for their products. Some of the same themes are evident, with several vendors selling candles, bath and body stuff, lotions, jewelery, etc. And there are other vendors selling unique items such as the pie shop. The girls' night out event was very well set up. One entrance had sweets arranged in an appealing design with donuts and other dessert items. Inside, there's another area with wine, food and snacks. I felt the flow was good and even when it was busy, it didn't feel too crowded. I really enjoyed the fun atmosphere, spent way too much (that I don't regret) and partook of the food and drink. After you're done shopping, you go to a bank of cashiers and pay there, instead of paying individual vendors, which is handy. There are a lot of gift-type items, plus fun items for personal. I am very confused by the negative reviews for The Emporium. My mother and I had a wonderful experience this past weekend. The place was busy, but they have everything placed just right so you do not feel claustrophobic. The employees were very friendly and no said anything to us about wearing a mask and more than the majority were NOT wearing a mask. I bought some great finds that are now unique to me...no one else I know will have a skeleton in a Santa hat hanging from their rearview mirror. So this place is like a craft market, but instead of paying at the store, you pay at a central cash register. There's loads of gifty things, mugs with funny sayings, fancy hippy clothes, wooden signs that say inspirational things like "believe" and loads and loads of cards. SUCH a cool little store chock full of really nice (but pricy!) gift items, etc. There is a HUGE vintage clothing, shoes, accessories section here. If you're a vintage clothing junky, you have GOT to venture down to Castle Rock and see all of the cool stuff! Otherwise, the goods here are very similar to The Barn next door. I came here during a special event "Girls Night Out". This place is huge and they have a lot of fun items. They were having sales the night we came and I picked up a pair of cute boots that the vendor told me were part of the sale. When I got to the register I had to tell the sales person that the boots were on sale and she questioned it. So I had to track down the woman/vendor who told me about the sale, and bring her to the register to verify. A little annoying since it was such a crazy night with hoards of people. The place in general is great, but I did not particularly care for the man at the Vibrant Cosmetics spot. He was very pushy and over the top and made me uncomfortable the entire time. Sometimes there are those businesses that you have a great experience and then there are businesses that you have a poor experience. Then when you have a poor experience, you give them another chance, and they fail. Then you wait 6 months and you go back and they still fail. My recommendation is simple. Use cash and only cash. Last time I was there, they charged me twice and it took my bank 4 weeks to resolve the issue. I was back again this past weekend and with a brand new debit card, this clerk swiped it and claims it didn't go through, and again, and again, and again, and this morning I notice that they paid out all 5 transactions. yes. I am not stuttering 5 transactions for the same amount. Then I call to talk to a manager and they told me "Settle it out with your bank, we can't help you." I want to warn you about this terrible experience. Please be careful with this business, perhaps you might want to pay in pennies, dollars, or food stamps, just don't use your credit card! So while they do have a small set of great products and a lot of cheap import merchandise from China, they have a credit/debit card swipe that can't read the card. Be warned. read more

I received a gift card for The Emporium in May and was excited that I finally had the chance to be in Castle Rock to visit the store. While I think the store was good, my review reflects the customer service I received at checkout. I was at the store on October 22, 2021. Cay was the associate who checked me out and she was very rude. Another associate standing nearby answered my question about the pillow cover I was purchasing but was then interrupted and asked abruptly by Cay if I still wanted to purchase. I replied that I did and she began the transaction. She didn't know how to run my gift card and had to ask for help from yet again another associate. Cay was very short and snappy to this associate although this woman (I think her name might have started with an L) did help complete my sale. Although the store has lots of fun things to see and purchase, it is because of this kind of customer service that I won't frequent the shop again. read more

We selected a pair of cast iron black crows at THE EMPORIUM and because they were heavy took them to the counter to be held while we continued to shop. My husband was so excited because he had been looking for just the right pair. We had a nice conversation with the employees about how far we had traveled to come to the antique shops in Castle Rock. We continue to shop. When we made our way back to the counter to pay for the crows, we were handed a bag with the crows already wrapped and ready. Imagine our surprise when we got all the way home and unwrapped our treasure only to find that one crow had a broken wing and the other had a broken talon. We know it didn't happen on the way home because if it had, the broken pieces would have been in the wrapping paper and or bag. There were no pieces. THE EMPORIUM must have figured it was a opportunity to unload a broken set, knowing we would not be able to easily return our purchase. For that, we will never grace their business again and will happily share our experience with anyone and everyone. read more
