TLDR: They did a great job doing the work they showed up for, but never actually finished the job and ghosted us. THE GOOD: I hired Tree Pros to take down two large Tree of Heavens (Ailanthus), remove a grove of Ailanthus, trim two trees overhanging the house, and trim and treat an Ash tree. One of the Ailathus was very close to the house (overhanging it quite a bit), the other was near the street. They did an excellent job removing both of them. They also did a great job trimming all trees and (I assume) a good job treating the Ash. They treated the Ailanthus stumps with Tordon to stop them from sprouting up more, which worked well. They seemed experienced dealing with Ailanthus... which if you've ever dealt with them, they are a HUGE pain to get rid of (see Tree of Hell). Tree Pros' quote was reasonable compared to others I got and they were responsive when scheduling the job. We did run into a bump about a week out from our scheduled date when I asked the city (Englewood) to confirm Tree Pros' insurance status. Tree Pros was not registered with Englewood, and an arborist/company must be to do business within city limits. I informed Tree Pros of the issue and they had it worked out within a couple days and we still hit our target date. Overall, no big complaints here. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they did a good job. THE LESS GOOD: This is where the 1 star review comes in. Part of the quote I received from Tree Pros was to subsequently have the tree stumps ground down- we needed to wait 4-6 weeks to let the Tordon effectively kill the Ailanthus stumps, and they said they'd reach back out to schedule an appointment for stump grinding. They originally cut the trees down on 6/22/2022 and 6/23/2022. Come 8/6/2022 (just over 6 weeks), I hadn't heard anything back from them about scheduling the stump grinding, so I reached out. They emailed me back 2 days later stating they would schedule it. I reached back out August 19 (two weeks later) requesting a status. They got back to me August 20th saying they would schedule it. We called and left a voicemail. No response. Eventually, I gave up and hired a different company to do it, because it seems like Tree Pros doesn't care to finish up the job. That being said, I did not pay up front for the stump grinding, so I'm not out any money on them ghosting me, just a bit of added frustration to an otherwise pretty good experience. So, take my experience for what you will, but I personally don't think it reflects well on a company when they bail on the last part of a job. Given this interaction, I would not hire them again and will not be using them for recurring treatments on my Ash tree or to plant a new tree where one was removed.

When I went by there was only one employee working and when I asked about indoor plants he quickly informed me that they have some succulents but that most of their plants are outdoor plants. I was extremely disappointed by the small selection of pots and other planting materials in the indoor store. The indoor store appeared bare almost as though they were getting ready to go out of business. The outdoor greenhouse was disorganized with stuff strewn about everywhere like they were in the middle of repotting and trimming and didn't bother to clean up. There are a nice selection of trees for landscaping projects but a bunch of the pine trees looked half dead. All the lawn ornaments and fountains which I assumed were for sale were sun damaged and weather worn like they'd been sitting out for years. I ended up with a 4" succulent as a gift for someone for $11 but I probably won't be back. Hopefully they are able to stay in business but they need a serious overhaul and a better selection first.

Mike the estimator called gave him the same numbers for square footage as I did the lady in office and he quoted $2,700 plus tax. He didn't even come out and look. When I asked why it was so much higher he said it was higher in my area. Don't know why he would say that when I gave the lady in the office my address and zip code. When I called the main office to talk to someone about it they asked me what they could help me with then when I started talking she rudely said I have 4 people in front of you you need to hold. Obviously something shady is going on in this company and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Purposely went to them because they are close to my house but now supposedly according to Mike it's $1,000 more for my area, so if I lived further away it would be less? No thanks.
