We were greeted immediately ... the spot is well lit and the jazz music is very soothing .. The wall art of the cites is dope decor Lamar was our sever and suggested a better seat that was much appreciated ... For the appetizer I ordered the fried broccoli ... for my entree if you read my reviews I went with the Lamb Chops medium well with the mash potatoes. The fried broccoli was very good and the creole sauce made the taste even better ... the lamb chop were Cooked perfectly medium well to my liking. They could have had more of seasoning prior to the balsamic that's added to the dish . Mash potatoes were also good just needed a dab of salt ... We had a party of 16 & we had the private room reserved for my twin cousins birthday. I will start by saying our server Dee & the young ladies that helped her were great. We asked for the tv to be turned on in which the manager Ralph came in with his tshirt hanging out & hat on backwards & turned it on..nothing else! We had issues with our food ( 1 burger & 1 chopped steak with HAIR in them, and a ribeye that was cooked wrong). The server took the burger & chopped steak back & took them off the bill. I had the ribeye which I asked for MEDIUM, it came out WELL DONE. Dee came back & said the manager (Ralph) said he would discount it. To which I said no, you can take it off because I can't eat this! Ralph, the manager NEVER came in to apologize or say anything to us about the issues! I walked out to ask if he was the manager, he said yes so I asked why they never offered to remake my food. The response was we took it off the bill! We sat in that room for about 30 more minutes until my cousin Sandra went to the desk where he was sitting and then he came in with the WORST ATTITUDE, yelling about he didn't know who had what & what was our problem. Ralph is the most UNPROFESSIONAL manager I've ever encountered! You couldn't pay any of us to come back to eat (or not eat) here again!! read more

Strains of smooth Jazz playing. The wait staff were very good. Ordered the Lasagna. It was excellent. Reminded me of Jesuti's on Ft. Jackson Blvd that sadly closed up decades ago. This is the first Non Chain, Non Fast food, Non BBQ place to open on Garner's Ferry road and one I'll happily go back to. It's largely American cuisine with Southern additions. The Epicurean Table features a country style menu that comes with an elevated flair. I started with the fried green tomatoes which were out of this world. The must try of the menu in my opinion. We also tried the catfish bites which were also equally awesome. They were light flavorful, and fresh. For the entree I tried the Epicurean burger with sweet potatoes fries. Have to say the burger was extremely good, dedicate even. I can say this place far exceeded my expectations food wise, if they had a craft beer or bar situation I could see myself here more often. read more

This place has some amazing food. Like hands down best in the area. I do think that they are misplaced based on demographics. The food is overpriced for the country clientele you have. The dinning room is gorgeous minus them random barrels. Who thought that was part of the inspirational decor? their staff is very nice. Yet not knowledgeable on the menu they serve. The food is flavorful, fresh and seasoned well. The menu items were not your mill of the run southern cuisine. Southern American infused with modern trends. Our server Darriah was professional and attentive. Food was a bit of a wait, the sporks were interesting and the seating was not very comfortable. Nope, I am very sorry but, as it is now, I can't recommend this spot. This review is honesty intended to help the property owners make changes that could help make the restaurant successful. To begin with, the seating is really uncomfortable. Seats are not supposed to angle downward; very uncomfortable! Secondly, currently there is no bar. We expect for evening dining in a nice spot there is a bar. Wine and beer only. (Certainly, personal preference, of course.) Third, the menu is limited. Items available the night we were there were ok. But the menu will not bring us back from across town to eat. We were served by a very capable waiter. The service was great. read more

Had lunch here after a hike at Congaree National Park. The staff and manager were super friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and inviting And the menu was packed with interesting options. We had the collard green dip as a starter and a couple epicurean salads with some protein. Food was absolutely delicious and came out fast. We also found it interesting thing that the owners are raising their own Wagyu beef at their nearby farm. Definitely a first for the area. Next time we hike at the park we will definitely be back. So much better than a chain restaurant or the local fast food. Give this place a try. read more

We came across this gem as we were driving back from Charleston. At the time of our visit we found out they had only been open 8 weeks. I ordered the Wagu burger and my husband had the chicken Philly sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious. Our server, Maddie, was so courteous and professional and so friendly. I show the manager on duty the menu as it states and she is very NASTY! (This is why some businesses don't make it) I tell her I understand what she is saying, however he ordered what he ordered because of what the menu states. She continues to be NASTY and pretty much ruin the experience! The excitement...drained. The fact that the food was good...drained. The food was great, but the service was nonexistent. There were 9 people in the restaurant and 3 waitstaff, so it's not like they were busy. The wait staff seemed annoyed that we had to move because the chairs were hurting my 71 year old mothers back. She has had several surgeries. Now the food, I'd put that fried pork chop against pretty much any meal in and around Columbia. I ordered take out and that pork chop still stayed crispy! Their Mac and cheese was the most seasoned Mac and cheese I've had, it's not your traditional, but it sure tasted better. Reason for not 5 stars, I thought the yams were okay, not bad just not the best I've ever had. Their fried chicken wasn't as crispy as my fried pork chop but was still very well seasoned. I've dined twice in the month of March, 2024 and both times the food was excellent! The absolute best burger I ever had! The fried pork chop dinner was excellent. The sides I choose was broccolli and lima beans. Both was excellent! My son tried the salmon with rice and vegtables. It was "slap your Mama good"! We were very excited to try this restaurant for Valentine's Day because it is 5 minutes from our house. We had a terrible experience. It started with my husband waiting almost an hour for a drink. He ordered the Valentine special which included soup or salad, appetizer, entree and dessert. I ordered an appetizer and entree from their regular menu. My appetizer came out first, then his soup and while eating his soup our waitress brought my entree. I had my food for around 30 minutes before his appetizer came out. He never got his entree because at this point we had been there almost 2 hours and had to get home. Our waitress never came back to refill our drinks and we had to flag another staff member down who then got the manager. The manager apologized and we were charged for the items we had plus a discount but we will not be returning. We enjoyed the flounder dinner, sweet potato fries, fried broccoli, epicurean salad and eggplant and lentils. all were very good. We tried the key lime ice cream sandwich and the peach cobbler pound cake. I could have eaten several of the key lime sandwiches. The pound cake was a bit dry. We were staying at the Fresh Eats Retreat BnB down the way on our visit to Congaree NP. We will return when we are in the area again. Thanks for a great experience. read more

I like to try new restaurants that open up and decided to drive all the way across town to try The Epicurean Table. When I first walked in I was impressed with the decorations and if felt inviting. However, there was no hostess available and we had to wait several minutes till the only server I saw finished with her table. This was approximately at 6:30 p.m. and only four tables were occupied. The menu looked very appealing but I was appalled at the prices of the wine and food. The location of this place is not in an area that caters to this high price. Mostly working class people. I know the surrounding land is growing but will be several years before you will be able to feel the effect. I mentioned this to the server and she told us that the owner was informed about the complaints of pricing but he was adamant he would not change them. I suggested to her that if he lowered them while he is getting established that more people would come and spread the good words about his place and make it a fully occupied place to relax and enjoy. An example of the price of one particular meal was the fried chicken breast with two sides. Price was $25.00. When our meals came they were attractive on the plate and tasty. So there is much potential for a successful restaurant if only the owner would listen to the customers suggestions. read more
