We were staying in McMinnville and Sherry was kind enough to pick us up from our airbnb. The tour ended up being just the three of us so that was a nice surprise. She drove us out to Carlton and we went to three different and very cool wineries. Sherry also took many photos of us throughout the tour and posted on her FB. At stop 2 she provided us a snack lunch of spinach dip, breads, cookies, and fruits which was lovely. Weeks before our trip began, Sherry went out of her way to help us plan the perfect day -- recommending wineries based on our preferences and arranging a perfectly-timed itinerary that allowed us to visit four wineries with wonderful views/Pinot. She promptly picked us up from our AirBnB in McMinnville. She was kind enough to take photos of us throughout our relaxing day, and she was incredibly knowledgeable about the Willamette Valley region and wines. The van that she transported us in was very spacious for our group. She provided us with water bottles, a special sweet treat and allowed us to charge our phones. Most importantly, she was extremely kind and a pleasure to spend time with. We so appreciated everything and can't recommend her enough!

Dylan was an AMAZING guide that knew not only an encyclopedia-like amount of knowledge on the history of Portland, but also could recite extensive history on each place we ate and the specifics of the food we were enjoying. Everything was delicious and we've already been back to one of the restaurants! The afternoon helped us all to understand the layout of Portland while not exhausting. Perfect amount of eating and walking and WOW did we learn. I started writing things down because I was afraid I'd forget things after we were done and I truly wanted to remember it all! It's within the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site and is home to Pearson Field, one of the oldest continuously operating airfields in the U.S (1905). Pearson Field is named after Lt. Alexander Pearson, an aviator who set airspeed records in the 1920s. During the interwar period, Pearson Field became a hub for innovative aviation, seeing visits from famous pilots like Charles Lindbergh. This is a must do! It's free and amazing.

Then walk a quarter mile toward the river and run into Pearson Air Museum. My wife got a masters degree in museum curatorship. This air museum is so well done it brings to life what would be a minor detail in history. Vancouver was a major artery for Sitka Spruce a strong light wood without knots. A key factor in building light airplanes during and post WW1. Well done and this is a US National Park. Kids activities, stamps for their books, and a short .5 M walk from Main Street

The fascinating history of Portland, combined with architecture and city stories makes an entertaining afternoon with Willie as your guide. We went to the Shanghai tunnels too and learned about the old town history there. It's a treat to tour with Willie! We were so happy to learn history and have great beer. This is a grand idea and a good deal. Willie is so easygoing and has a wonderful gift for storytelling.

You pick up free tickets at the Bush Barn Art Center that's across the back parking lot. There's a beautiful rose garden on one side of the house, and the Willamette Stadium on the other side. Once inside the home, you can see it's been beautifully kept. Most things including the wallpaper are original. The tour guide played an organ which uses rolls of paper with punched out holes in them to make music. That was pretty neat. The bedrooms were impressive, but the kitchen was my favorite. Lots of old fashioned doodads and weird oven taking up a chunk of the room. I learned about the many tribes that lived in Oregon and also the Bush family's seriously racist stance. It was an informative and entertaining experience. I'd recommend it.

One caution fir visitors. Our car in the Pittock parking lot was broken into. Nothing to take but expensive to repair the window. There are plenty of warning signs about leaving no valuables. Items that are there are some of the original items that were donated to the mansion they have a Blue P next to the item. Other items there are antiques that have been placed to fit the theme. Lots of photos of the family and context to the photos! This was great. Outside was clean and there were ton of labels for all the plants. Flowers and plants full bloom! We did the WildWood Trail to the Witches Castle! It's a nice hike. Wear appropriate shoes and clothes! 2.3-5 miles round trip. It's a big enough path for multiple people but some areas narrow. The climb down is good but man back up lol you will feel the burn. They have restrooms onsite indoor and then they have a bathroom in the mansion basement. Toilets flush loud don't be alarmed. At the bottom of the trail when you cross the street, there was a porta potty. Map as well. Parking is expensive: weekend Saturday it was roughly $24 for all day! There are benches and picnic tables towards the view! Staff are very nice! Gift shop as well with snacks, plants, jewelry, postcards, and all sorts of items.
