I went mining for Oregon sunstones in southern Oregon just for the thrill of it, and came back with some stuff I thought might be worth cutting. Lisa took the time to look through my collection and recommended five to send off for cutting. She had them cut to standard sizes, max karat weight, and they turned out beautifully. But wait, there's more! She also helped me pick out a couple of cabochon settings once I decided which two I wanted to make into necklaces. I decided on a red one for my mom and a schiller one for me. I picked the gold colors and settings and when they came back they were absolutely stunning! This was such a fun and unique experience for me, and Lisa was helpful, friendly, and just plain fun to hang out with during the entire 10-week process. I learned a lot and I'm so glad I did it. Justin worked with us to confirm the height of our bed and headboard, the dimensions for our nightstands, and the dimensions and specific design of our dresser. We're very happy with the result. Prices are fair for the quality of the work. We have been very happy with the craftsmanship. The custom nature of these orders means there is a wait time, but we were in no rush and were very happy with the products we got. I will highlight that we specifically asked about low VOC finishes and were assured that's what they use. When our bed arrived, it had no smell. Our dresser does have a very strong smell and it does transfer onto clothes still, even though we aired out of room for a day after it arrived, wiped it down, and it's been 4 weeks now. White glove delivery was also included and both times (it was two separate orders, months apart) the delivery people were professional and were careful about placing items where we wanted, and not damaging anything while entering our home / navigating stairs and tight corners.

We then asked if we could go with a couple motorized and a couple not. That must have sent them over the top as they never responded .. It's odd but we have found since moving to Mac 5 years ago that some businesses just don't want to deal with you if you don't take what they want to give you.. they don't want to be bothered with a lot of extra time spent on quarantine and options. Reliable Labor in this area has always been scarce so I think that is part of it. In larger cities there is much more competition. As much as we would like to keep our spending local we have not found that to always be possible. Companies in Salem and Portland are much better and even if they charge extra to come out they treat you much better too.

I always loved seeing their flowers as I drove by. I never did stop by, and now I live in Hillsboro. It's not that far of a drive, but I don't drive by very often anymore. Well, I saw a water color painting class event on Facebook being held at Blooming Junction. My sister and I have been really getting into doing water color painting. I signed us both up. I was excited not only for the class, I was really interested in checking out what Blooming Junction had to offer! I'm so glad this opportunity presented itself. Such a lovely nursery, all the plants looked so healthy and well cared for. It's much more than a nursery though. There was a market to buy fresh produce and other sundry items. I was delighted to find Bubbies brand pickles. I find this brand at other stores, but the dill relish has been illusive. I was just thinking to myself this morning while making chickpea salad how I wished I had Bubbies Dill relish..and lo and behold I find it here! So happy! My sister and I strolled around before our class started. Bought a drink in the market to sip on throughout the class. There was a water cooler also in the workshop area. We had fun getting in touch with our creative side! After class ended, we strolled around some more. I ended up getting the Bubbies relish and strawberries. They were so sweet!
