Let me start by saying that I have hair in ALL the wrong places. The Estheticians, specifically Jeannette, helped me beautify myself for my wedding. Great Brazilian- definitely worth the time to get to the peninsula. As for facials, the only good thing is that you can book an appointment rather quickly. For some reason they don't seem as competent with extractions versus getting one at a medispa where nurses/doctors are on staff. I used to go to Juut Salon in Palo Alto but one of my girl friends' recommended this place and I never looked back! I usually see Susan for a brazilian wax because she makes you feel very comfortable. It's about $55 for a brazilian which is decent considering I used to pay about $80 at Juut. Ask for Susan, she's great and I miss her! I haven't found any one as good as Estheticians in NYC yet. read more

I enjoyed going so much, I went back a second time! Jessica, the receptionist, is very sweet and always has been able to get me in last minute. The first time I saw Natasha, who it brutal with wax, but I will be honest, it had been 6 months since I had had my bikini waxed, so it is partly my fault. When I first walked in, I was unsure of her, but once we started talking, I thought she was fabulous *and she does an awesome Brazilian*!!!! The second time I went, I saw Stephanie and she was GREAT... so sweet to talk to and she was very gentle!!! She also recommended exfoliating gloves to help reduce ingrown hairs, which I totally never knew about! If you are a man - NEVER go here. When I called looking for a wax of ears and nose- I was told they knew how to do this. When I arrived, it was clear they knew zero. Wax of Ears and noses for men is done by using what is called, "hard wax." This place does not know how to use hard wax. Instead, I received a superficial treatment that was piss poor. If you are a women- be advised of their misrepresentation. If they will do that to men, they will do it to you. My advice is to go someplace else . I have never experienced anyone​ with such incredible technique. As far as Brazilian waxes are concerned, they get a double thumbs up from me. I've never had a problem booking/cancelling an appt or getting the Esthetician I liked. They have different styles among them, but all quick and efficient and they don't make you feel uncomfortable. I've only been getting brazillians for about 6 months now, but when I first reseached getting brazillians, I researched and researched and researched like a maniac...because it's not something you just want to pick out of a phone book and say, "Ok...let's try this place". This was was my first visit to The Estheticians and I'm really glad I found it. I was previously going to a elsewhere nearby for facials and decided to look elsewhere after a 20% rate hike. I had a fantastic Silk Peek facial with Jeannette. I've had Silk Peel (aka Dermal Infusion) every 3-4 months for the last 2 years and love the results. I don't need it for acne but I feel like it helps minimize lines and evens my skin tone-- the first week after a service my skin is amazing! Jeannette was extremely knowledgeable, which is what I look for in an aesthetician. She provided some tailored recommendations for my skin care routine-- not just products to buy-- although the spa also has in impressive line of those to choose from. It's also a lovely space. Getting a brazillian must be, by far, one of the most awkward experiences in existence. However, Jeanette made it totally bearable. Obviously my nether regions are not the first she has seen but I appreciated that she cracked jokes and made things comfortable, explaining things step by step. She has a baby on the way (due in April) so get those waxes in while you can: she is gentle, funny, sweet, and did a great job of getting rid of all my "strays." I can't believe I paid to go through pain but I'm enjoying the results, five stars! read more

Totally recommend! Everyone is super friendly.. except for maybe the receptionist. She was a little cold, but don't let that throw you off. I got the facial and explained to them that i was a virgin but was reassured that they would be gentler on me. While the extraction was a little painful (tho not that bad), the whole experience was very relaxing and enjoyable. I have come to Estheticians a few times for waxing needs and I must say they always do a great job. It isn't the bestest place ever but you won't end up burned or blistered like some other places out there. I always have a great conversation with the wax artists and am super tempted to buy some of the girly products mentioned in the other reviews. It can be a bit difficult to find because its back in a parking lot with a dentist office next door, but out of all of the waxing places I have been to in the area, it is the only one I intend on going to in the future. Pricing is great as is the service. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 from me is the not being able to add tip to the card, I rarely have cash on me and don't like feeling like a schlub because I can't tip the girl that just had to look at my intimate bits and rip the hair out of places even I haven't seen. read more

After reading the reviews of my fellow yelpers, I decided to book an appt. here for a facial. The place is clean and very cozy. I felt very comfortable when I walked in. The receptionist is very friendly and warm, not snooty like some places can be. My facial was great and comprehensive. They give you advice about your skin but are not pushy with purchasing their products. The massage that compliments the facial was so relaxing, I dozed off. Overall, I was very satisfied and I've already booked my next facial. I've also booked a prenatal massage so I'll have to see how that goes and update my review. read more

I've been going here for over 5 years; pretty much tried everyone, and they are all equally great. In particular, my brazilian waxes last two weeks longer here than anywhere else. They are clean, and warm, energetic people here. I was once about to leave for vacation and someone (thru my own mistake) my appt was botched. Well the owner who lives close by, decided to come in herself and wax me. Now that is service. I bought her dinner that night. The prices are extremely affordable and the people + quality of work give this place 5 well deserving stars. read more
