    Harry Potter flight
    Trisha J.

We went to Ettlin's mainly for the Harry Potter drink flight and we loved everything about it. So fun and quirky. Our food was decent, nothing over the top but it was good. The cheese curds were hot and fresh and the soup was delicious. One thing I didn't love was the coleslaw was way overdressed in my opinion. Service was slow but they made it clear that it may be when the restaurant was busy, which it was.

My favorite cafe!! We have never had a bad experience here and have been soooo many times. Do not expect to be in and out as this place is always busy but definitely worth the wait! My favorite dish is the scotch eggs and the pancakes are HUGE! They offer some really delicious coffee (and now alcohol) flights. Recently we got the Harry Potter boozy flight and it was so fun and tasty! It's very fun to look around at the people finding out what "house" they belong to with the Harry Potter hat!

The staff is very friendly, it's ambiance is of a family dinner, the menu has a Czechoslovakian theme. The portions are large and the food is amazing. They have a large selection of coffee options. The ones I have had the pleasure of trying have been very good. We are planning on being regulars

This cafe never ceases to exceed expectations and I have been really happy for years and continue to find new things to be happy about! The food is consistently fantastic with really fresh ingredients and prepared perfectly. I have tried almost everything on the menu at some point but one of the things I think about a lot is the Angry Rooster which is a beautiful omelette that has andouille sausage, sauteed peppers, onions, jalapeno, and tomatoes with Ghost pepper cheese. Spicy?....yes it is. VERY tasty? YES! My friends today had a side of dumplings and gravy (very good), Scotch eggs (Yummy) and a pancake (Huge!). Great quality, cooked well, and tasty all around. One thing we had a lot of fun with was their new Coffee, drinks and hot chocolate menu! I had one that was a coffee drink (Christmas Tree!?) with gingerbread and vanilla flavoring and came with a Little Debbie Christmas tree cake...cute and very good! Two of us had the Hot Chocolate Flight.....SOOO awesome and fun!! Four 6 oz hot chocolates in 4 delicious flavors. It was really terrific and we had a great time trying each other's drinks :) As always....HIGHLY recommend this cafe! It isn't big, they have limited hours, and sometimes the food can take a bit since they have a smaller team, but they are friendly, it's a cute little place, and the food is definitely worth it!

First time here but I have driven by HUNDREDS of times. The service was excellent right out of the gates, even on a busy Sunday morning. The Angry Rooster omelette was exactly what I wanted, the andouille was surprisingly spicy for an Eastern European restaurant. I really loved it. The sourdough toast was tasty AF. Any variety of kolachy is a great breakfast appetizer, they are served warm and more of a bun style. I will say the stuffed French toast was a touch dry. I guess they use more of a simple egg wash for their FT rather than a custard, so that's why they didn't get a full 5 stars. We'll be back for sure though.

Way out in New Prague, there is a delicious diner, Ettlin's Cafe. For a weekday morning the parking lot was quite full, I could see why once I received my order. The ambience is very cute, gray walls are decorated with artwork of "Breakfast at Tiffany's." Very chic. I came specifically for the coffee flight, I was presently surprised that there were 2 flights (Spring flight and St. Patrick's Day flight) and 1 hot chocolate flight. I tried the Spring flight which had 6 oz samplings of Blueberry Pancake latte, Cherry Blossom Cold Brew, Banana Pudding Latte and Honeybee Latte. All 4 had their own distinct flavors, my favorite was the banana pudding latte which had banana sliced toppings and very banana-y. The server did warn me that the flights would take a bit of time. I didn't notice the wait even though it was quite busy. For breakfast I ordered the #2 with 1 monster pancake, which came with eggs, toast and bacon. Eggs were perfectly cooked, crispy thick cut bacon and sour dough toast. The food did take some time to come out but the sign at that door does state food takes 25 minutes to make because everything is made from "scratch." Ingredients were high quality and definitely made with care. Servers were very attentive. From observation it seems there are a lot of regulars.

The wait staff seated us promptly. The ambiance is of a typical small town diner and smells nice not musty. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. Served with an option of choices for bread, meat, egg, and cheese. They even have an option to have ghost pepper cheese. It comes with fresh fruit as well.

Driving back to Iowa...I decided to give a new place a shot. I am very happy that I did. Real hash browns that appeared to be hand grated, as the shreds weren't the uniform type typically seen at other breakfast establishments. Bacon was the thick type and had a good smokey flavor to it. My first bread choice was unavailable, so I went with white. Nice thick slices, not your typical sandwich bread. While the staff was polite, I felt like an outsider the entire time.

Great food, made from scratch. I usually get their breakfast, but I occasionally enjoy items off their lunch menu. My favorites include the Angry Rooster omelette and the La la love it French toast. Their meats come from a local butcher taste awesome. Today I enjoyed something a little different and was pleasantly surprised by their ability to make tasty specialty coffee drinks. Atmosphere is clean and staff are always speedy and friendly. Not much waiting room for when it gets busy but they usually seat people quickly.

"I can't think of anything to complain about, and I usually come up with something" - my date Ettlin's has a tremendous menu, a warm and friendly crew, ample space, and most importantly really great American and Czech food. We had the Czech breakfast - on recommendation- and dumplings with gravy, soft raspberry kolacky, and steel ground oats. The Jaternice and other Czech staples were cooked to simple perfection. While the sweet kolacky came first, I think it may have been strategic. Wow with first impressions. We never had dumplings in the style Ettlins uses: slices of a potato roll browned almost like a Pillsbury holiday cookie, side of brown gravy vs. frosting. Big fans. The custom Dineen coffee mugs and bottomless pot topped off a great breakfast in New Prague. I highly recommend a stop in, or making this a regular. We will come back sometime for dinner.

Food was delicious, waitress made all of us feel very rushed and like we had to order quick and get out quick. One other thing is the bottom of the silverware was wrapped but not the part that you eat off of, so the fork prongs and knife were getting touched by everyone and set on the table, just weird anyway decent food!!!!

So delicious! I wish they had something like this in the Twin Cities! So good! I wasn't even able to sit and eat my food at the restaurant for very long so I had to take it to go, and it was still out of this world cold and in a box. It's a great family restaurant to and I hope to be able to bring my family here at some point soon

He had an excellent sense of humor and was attentive to our wants from start to finish during our time there. We ordered a wood fire pizza that was outstanding. My only suggestion is they find a way to make larger pizza than the 10 inch, the only size offered. This is a bar but a bar with good food. The dinning area is a bit boating but the bar area is exciting and welcoming.

Scraped off the hollandaise and egg and found no Birria in either of the Benedict's. Asked the server if there should be Birria in the Birria Benedict. She politely apologized and said she would have it remade. 5 minutes later somebody from the kitchen brought out my same plate, now with something that resembled Birria on top of my old food. They literally took my plate, set it on the counter for a couple minutes, scooped a sad excuse for Birria on top then walked it back out. I took a bite, noticed it was now cold eggs and holandaise and set my fork down. Server came back over and asked if it was ok. I told her it was now cold and to please bring the bill. I could tell she was embarrassed and had some level of pride in this restaurant, but I can't say the same about the kitchen staff. This should never happen at any restaurant. I walked in and saw you could either order on a large touch screen on with a person at the front. I don't mind touch screens, so I went to start my order. The problem is that there are no pictures... so you're not 100% sure what you are ordering. I stopped the order and walked over to the case to order with the employee instead. There was one woman in front of me and she got her items quickly. I ordered 5 items. (See pic below) All of them were fantastic! I really do judge a place by how well they can do a croissant, and this place does them very well!! The employees were very polite but for some reason my order took almost 15 mins to fill... I watched them pull the items from the case, so I'm not sure why it took them so long to do the order. There was only one other person who ordered after me and she had a drink and a box of pastries too... she received her items first. As for the space, it is bland and feels like an old Carribou coffee.... There really wasn't anything that felt "Paris or French" here. Very bland and not very cozy. If you plan on going(the food was very good) order it to go...
