The menu is large with a variety of selections. It was difficult to decide what I wanted, finally decided to try the MN Favorites sampler; which consisted of Tator tot hotdish, chicken pot pie, & pouting. The puff pastry on top of the pot pie was "hard", not what you expect from puff pastry. The poutine was so rich I wouldn't order it as a meal, but definitely something that could/should be shared. Everything had great flavor and was delicious. One friend ordered the Hot chicken sandwich w/bacon and the other ordered the Hearty curry bowl. They both thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. They also have a large dessert case with a great selection of cupcakes and macaroons. I ordered a variety of the macaroons and a cupcake, to go. They were all yummy! Great spot for brunch! We really enjoyed our food and drinks. We shared the Minnesota sampler and it was fantastic. Also the Dubai croissant was divine. I had kind of a cheat day and I am on a low sodium diet per my Cardiologist. I am pleased they were able to work with my dish to lower the salt content. The service was stellar. I got there first, for our party of seven. I was seated right away and the wonderful waiter brought water and recommended a nice mocktail. The drink order came out before the rest of the party arrived, so I was able to sip on that for a bit. The waiter was wonderful and able to help accommodate my request for a normal plastic straw after my paper straw practically disintegrated. While waiting, it became very clear where the Mason Jar name came from. The ceiling and walls use many of them for decor, and the drinks are also served in the titular jars. The menu had a good selection, and I settled on the Minnesota Sampler, since I'm only in the state for a brief time. The food was well prepared, but a bit too salty of my tastes. The hot dish and the pot pie were yummy, but the poutine's blue cheese wasn't really doing it for me. For dessert, three of us ordered the seasonal tres leches, which was blueberry. It was very rich, which I consider a plus. But it was a massive serving. I think the three of us could have split one order and been satisfied. Went here for a weekday lunch. They have a lunch special to pick 2 or 3 options of soup, salad and a half sandwich. Definitely get the pick 3. The lunch portions aren't overly large. The tomato basil soup is so fresh and delicious and was my favorite lunch choice I got. Our server was attentive despite a full restaurant! The scratch-made kitchen approach shows in the food, and the space is clean and comfortable with a good variety on the menu covering savory, sweet, and the classics. The MJK breakfast was solid, and the chorizo sausage had great flavor. One thing worth noting is that they don't have non-pork breakfast meat options, which would be a welcome addition for those avoiding pork. I'm so happy restaurant week announced their list of participating restaurants. I met up with my friend for dinner, great deal for $38 and 3 courses. Restaurant is spacious, I sat in the back dining area and noticed empty mason jars hung on the ceiling. Some of them were used as lights. The food was delicious! The giant cheddar and green onion biscuit is flavorful and goes well with the creamy gravy. -- The breakfast burrito is solid. -- The Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Corn Waffle is delicious. The cornbread waffle pairs so well with the rosemary-infused syrup and honey butter. The chicken tenders are standard. -- The Dubai Chocolate Croissant is awesome. The croissant itself is flaky and buttery, and the filling is crispy and creamy. -- The Caramel Pecan Breakfast Roll is massive and can easily be shared with the table. It's super fluffy and soo warm and gooey. -- The Crispy Chicken and Mash Stack is an absolute home run. The breading is so crispy and the chicken is salted perfectly. It's like an elevated KFC mashed potato bowl. I liked the mix of the sauteed veggies and the charred broccolini, and the fluffy mashed potatoes with the denser biscuit on the bottom. -- The Spinach Artichoke Dip is okay. The dip itself is pretty mushy and bland, but the baked pita is seasoned well and has a good bite to it. -- The chocolate cake is fluffy and very rich. The tres leches cake is on the denser side. Can I be honest? I was skeptical walking into The Mason Jar in Eagan, MN. I didn't know what to expect, but from the moment I was seated with Ryan, my doubts started to fade. Came here on a busy weekday evening but managed to get a reservation last minute. Overall I was pretty impressed with the food especially for being in the suburbs! We tried a couple of the non alcoholic Mocktail drinks and they were pretty delicious. For my toddlers I got the chicken pot pie and for myself I got walleye with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was so tasty! We also got cheese curds to share - but with 4 adults and 2 toddlers, it was a really tiny portion for the price. I felt like even the State Fair gives more cheese curds for the price! I think I'm just used to other restaurants that give a larger amount. The service was a little slow as well - felt like the food took a while to come out, but it was busy. They have Sebastian Joe's ice cream and they also have house made cupcakes which are delicious! It's comparable to other cupcake shops in the twin cities. The ambiance is pretty modern farmhouse with a neon sign in the lobby and rustic vibes throughout. Regardless of the wait time I had an overall great experience. I heard the brunch is great and would love to come back for that some day. read more

Went here for lunch! Place was hopping (had to wait in line a bit to get seated) and there was branded merch for the shop, so that was a solid indicator this place was gonna be good-- and so it was! Neat thing, you can just waltz on in and order ice cream, cupcakes, or macaroons at the desert counter to-go, even if you're not dining in. Great way to utilize space and get additional revenue, I dare say. They have lots of both indoor and outdoor seating; we opted for the later because it was such a nice sunny spring day. Looking at the menu it was extremely hard to pick what to get (absolutely going to have to come back to try a few more things), but I selected their pot roast. Oh man, it was amazing. I tore into it, savoring every bite. Portion size was good too, I actually took some home in a to-go box. We also chose to get ice cream for dessert, since they said it was "award winning." I just might believe that! The chocolate pot hole ice cream was violently chocolatey-- enough so to satisfy even the more die-hard chocolate fans. Highly recommend! Staff were all friendly, but a little slammed with the lunch rush on a Friday afternoon, so some aspects were a little slow (refills and such). We weren't in a hurry though and the ambiance was pleasant, so this didn't bother us. I especially appreciated the all-gender bathrooms. Many single occupant stalls, all upscale and clean. I was surprised to see the biscuit was underneath the giant scrambled egg and chorizo gravy but WOW was it delicious. Enough food to bring home leftovers. What a perfect thing to say as you walk in: Together is a perfect place to be'. Of course, we had to take a family picture. It is a very warm and welcoming saying. The people at the front desk welcome everyone by name if you have a reservation. We started our meal with a salad. I had the MJK salad and my husband had the Caesar. Both were good. I opted to eat the Shrimp Bowl. The rice was very good and a compliment to the shrimp. My husband had the salmon. They were very good about changing out things that we couldn't eat. I first visited The Mason Jar in Eagan over five years ago, back when it had more of a classic diner vibe. At the time, it was fine for what I was looking for, but it wasn't a place I would have thought of for brunch. So when my sister recently suggested going there, I was surprised--but open to giving it another try. However, when we arrived, I quickly realized this wasn't the same place I had been to years ago. The vibe was completely different--super cute, warm, and inviting! We started with their mimosa kit. It came with a bottle of Prosecco, a variety of juices, fresh fruit, and macarons. We split the Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Cornbread Waffle and the Pork Belly Breakfast Skillet. I typically think regular waffles are fine, but this cornbread waffle was something else. It was filling, flavorful, and a nice combo with the chicken. Keep in mind that the portions are generous. --we ate around 11:30 AM, and I was still full by 7 PM. I was here recently for a breakfast meeting. This place has major reviews for a number of things and the Minnesota comfort foods dominate the menu. This day I had the Smoked Salmon Breakfast Stack, which advertises a spicy hollandaise sauce. It was excellent and spicy. Not for many Minnesota taste buds because of the actual spice but if you want spicy, you will enjoy this. You could still order this I'm told and instead of the spicy hollandaise you could go with the chipotle aoli and just for grins, I tried that too, and that was great as well, less spicy and still made for a great dish. The ambience in this place is really good. They've done a great job organizing everything, it seems like it's always busy and the service was great as well. They also have some fun options for coffees, and some other treats that are worth checking out. I think more people know about this place than not, but maybe if you're new to the area, check it out , you will not be disappointed. read more

The fries trio was good, the fries have a nice batter on them and are complemented by 3 dipping sauces. Cheese curds were ok, a little disappointing. Didn't have much of a "squeak". This particular Jam dipping sauce was not popular at our table. MN Sampler was good, the size was deceiving. It didn't feel like a lot of food but ended up being plenty for dinner. Chili Mac was actually the best, and I wasn't really looking forward to that one. Nice surprise. The chicken pot pie was tough to judge as it was only a few bites but I'd try it again - full sized to really judge the pastry to filling ratio and flavor. Hot dish was exactly as expected. Chicken wild rice soup was good, creamy and filling. A cup was plenty. Our table enjoyed the burger, birria quesadilla and hot chicken sandwich. Dessert was a macaron and it garnered two thumbs up. The Caesar salad was crisp and fresh, with a well-balanced dressing and perfectly toasted croutons. I really really loved their menu. It's a perfect ma and pa minnesota menu. Simple dishes that some of those pickey eaters actually like but just a little bit nicer than a small town restaurant. I personally like to take risks and try different plates whereas my parents like the typical burger or steak option with potatoes so this was a great place to try. I tried the macadamia-crusted mahi mahi. Although I wasn't impressed with the fish itself, I was in love with the mushroom risotto it was plated on. Would recommend getting this mushroom risotto as its own dish (which they have). I also enjoyed the wild rice soup. Everyone else enjoyed their dish. Prices were decent for a "nicer" restaurant. It's more causal than upscale but nicer than the chain restaurants. Parking is plentiful out front since it's in a shopping mall. Service was without issue. read more

We had a very disappointing NYE dinner here unfortunately. I will never return for a dinner service. Customer service was lacking, service in general was lacking. Not sure if they were short staffed(plenty of clean tables were open) but being sat 30 mins past a reservation time(at 9pm) on New Year's Eve is unacceptable when you send your customers reminder texts to show up on time after already having confirmed. NYE menu ended at 930pm. I will stick to breakfast brunch. read more

My partner and I went to Mason jar for a brunch date. The restaurant itself is adorable. I love that they have individual gender neutral accessible bathrooms. We got sat quickly and our waitress got us water and promptly took our food and coffee order. Our coffee arrived after the food. I got the peanut butter mocha with soy milk and no whipped cream. It had a subtle peanut butter flavor - I wish it would have been a little more prominent. My smoked salmon stack was so good. I would definitely get it again. Mike was fantastic. An absolute gem of a server. It was so nice to come in here and it wasn't overcrowded so we were able to hear each other and it's always clean and nice at Mason Jar. I had the huevos rancheros which are so full of different textures and flavors. It was very delicious from the crispyv tortillas to the perfectly done carnitas and everything in between. The guacamole was very tasty. The Pico fit perfectly and if you like hot sauce they have a really nice one with flavor. My husband had the buttermilk chicken tenders with the savory cornbread waffle which came with an herb butter and he enjoyed that very much. Lots of texture again flavor highly recommend. Writing a review because our server, Mike, was so AMAZING that I felt inclined to give him a shoutout! He earns 10/5 stars for such attentive and kind service. His recommendation for my lunch was also perfect! We usually order takeout and it's been forever since we've dined in. He was fantastic and made us feel so welcomed. Highly recommend Mike! My entree was so beautiful and delicious! Unfortunately, both my side pancakes were quite dark so they tasted borderline burnt/bitter. After relocating to Burnsville this year, we are always looking for great spots for brunch! Mason Jar came heavily recommended and delivered on all its promises! Located in a strip mall, there is plenty of parking nearby. Upon entry, you can either pick up to-go food or treats from a lovely and full pastry case or hit up the host stand to get a table. Our server and all other staff were great during our stay! The ambiance of the space is a bit elevated, but I still feel like you could show up in your pajamas if needed. Food and drink were spectacular, albeit, a bit small for the prices! I went with the brunch flight which included a plethora of fun drinks! The breakfast burrito was yummy for sure! My7 first time eating her with my daughter and her family and it will not be the last time. Everything was so delicious.We started with Yuca con chicharron which were very unique and tasty but I didn't get photo. I ordered the chicken Saltimbocca that was perfection, with mashed potatoes and grilled broccolini that was done just right. This dish has a lemon beurre blanc sauce that paired with this dish so nicely, not a heavy sauce and not too light. My daughter ordered the ravioli which she loved. My son in law had the most flavorful Atlantic salmon with lobster risotto (that was so creamy) and grilled wok chop with the same beurre blanc sauce that my dish had. trust me he has a spotless clean plate.
