The best part about Henry was that he was always extremely responsive, usually within a 1-2 day response. We could always rely on his assistance, which made us easily trust in him completely during the wedding day. When we started selecting our Ceremony songs, he invested his time into sharing us feedback on how long songs should be and how we should go about choosing songs, whether it was for the wedding party, groom, or the bride. Henry provided us with detailed questions to assist him during the full day event. Although it could seem intimidating to have questions presented to you, it ensured that we could fully trust that Henry knew what he was doing. We had absolutely zero concerns leading up to the wedding day. During our pre-wedding day walkthrough meeting, Henry was very considerate of all our requests and was very detail oriented. He offered to cut and edit songs to fit our Grand Entrance, Ceremony, and dance songs. Surprisingly, he even created our 2-minute first dance song by making small tweaks to the beginning and end so the song flowed smoother. Of course, the day of the wedding was an absolute miracle! Henry has the best way of hosting and exciting the crowd!!! He always kept to the timeline, checked in with our planner, and we felt very comfortable the entire day! We provided Henry with a 7 hour dance floor playlist ‍ and he used it so well! The dance floor was fully filled the entire night and he read the room and played all our favorite hits! The company's light rig system was also super cool and had tons of lights and even smoke He also offered to display uplighting around the perimeter of the room which added a lovely touch (lighting makes a huge difference!!!). We talked to him about the flow of the evening and gave him a playlist of our favorite dance party music and he did an amazing job choosing songs off of that playlist at just the right moments and reading the energy of the room. We had almost 2 hours straight of dancing, and I had friends and guests coming up to me at the end saying it was the best dance floor they had ever seen at a wedding party. Almost everyone was dancing the whole time! Bert asked us what we wanted for our first and last songs, but we weren't sure so he offered some great suggestions that we ended up going with. The planning was easy and stress free, the execution was perfect, and the price was way better than other vendors we had checked with. All in all, we couldn't be happier! The photobooth: Bert worked with us and his artist ahead of time to get a background for our prints that matched our decor and vibe. We sent him a photo of our invitations and received back a few options that all looked great. Requested a few minor changes and they made those quickly and perfectly. They also let us provide a box of our own props in addition to theirs (we are theater geeks and asked to do this), which turned out spectacularly. We hired him for night one, our welcome party, and originally expected the vibe to be pretty chill. We figured there might be some dancing, but that he would mostly be MCing and providing background music. Instead, he read the crowd so well that he somehow got everyone onto the dance floor at a party that was not even supposed to be our big dancing event. One moment perfectly sums up how good he is. During my maid of honor's speech, she mentioned that I love One Direction and Zayn Malik. Immediately afterward, Raffi played "What Makes You Beautiful," and it was SUCH a hit. I had never put that song on any request list and honestly would not even have thought to ask for it, but in the moment it was exactly the right song. That is Raffi's superpower. He actually listens to what is happening in the room, understands the crowd, and knows what people want to hear before you even realize it yourself. We are also an Indian couple, and even though Raffi is not specifically an Indian DJ, he mixed Indian and Western music together seamlessly. At one point we had people doing bhangra on the dance floor and everyone was SO excited. He absolutely understood the assignment. He also has a fantastic announcer voice and MC presence, while still feeling natural and fun rather than over-the-top. And beyond being talented, he is just such a kind guy and incredibly easy to work with. To gather songs selections for important moments, record our love story and review the "binder" which had all the information from our venue to questions about each person in our wedding party. Later he would use this to create the most funniest bridal party entrances, not to mention all the proper pronunciations of some hard names. On our first meeting, he injured his leg the night before but still kept his appointment with us. He was very knowledgeable about the wedding traditions of both Chinese and Filipino cultures. He gave us some timeline worksheets (that were extremely helpful) as well as other worksheets for family introductions, song requests, etc. On the day of, he was at the venue, set up, dressed in his tux, and ready to go by the time we arrived (5 pm but the reception didn't start until 6pm). I was a bit apprehensive about the reception--that our Chinese guests would make a mad dash for the door immediately after the food--but thanks to Julian and Alan and their timing of everything, eveyone stayed and EVEN got out on the dance floor.
