Terrible service. I had traded in items that were over $500 in value and got $180 cash. When I asked for cash, they told me they didn't have the money to pay me, and that i would have to wait till they received a check from their office for me. I came back to the store not even a week later, and I wanted to get my items back since I hadn't been payed for them yet and that I could 100% get a better price elsewhere, but the worker said that it had been too long and I couldn't get back my items, but I could buy them back at cost. And also the fact that the had my items up for sale even though I hadn't been payed is crazy in itself. Honestly just horrible experience all around. Came here for the first time and sold a couple of Guitar Heroes and 2 Guitar Hero games for the Xbox 360. Received a cash payout of $33.25. What's Hot - They'll test your electronics. I dropped off my Guitar Heroes and the staff told me they need to test it first to ensure it's still usable. I definitely appreciate that they can do the work, because that's one less step for me to do. They check your ID and take your phone number. Once they test your gear, they'll give you a call for you to come back to the store. Be aware they won't tell you over the phone exactly what works and how much they'll pay for your gear. You have to return to the store for them to tell you the information. - They pay cash. They offered me in store credit for $45 (for everything) or a cash payout of $33.25. I took the cash, which they literally gave me. It's cool and better that they'll pay it out in cash, rather than cut a check, or only give you the option of in store credit. - Location. Convenient in a plaza around other stores. Easy to find and you can go other places that are nearby. - Options. It looks like most of their inventory is video games, although I did see other hardware. The store is a small space, so it doesn't look like their inventory is large, but it's decent. What's Not - There should be one payout amount. The staff member I dealt with told me that the payout amount would be $45 for in store credit with any Exchange store. The cash payout would be $33.25. I took the cash payout, because my goal was to declutter. I understand their motive for having an in store credit, because that is an incentive to buy their inventory. However, I prefer a straightforward balance, rather than one that fluctuates. Recommendations - Call ahead to check first. If you're looking to get rid of/sell them certain video games, electronics, whatever, you should call first and check to see if they'll take them. I called ahead and asked if they'll buy guitar heroes and they asked if it was for the Wii or Xbox 360. It was for the Xbox 360, which they do take. They also told me on the phone that they'll have to test them first to ensure they're still usable, and then they can tell me how much they'll buy them for. More than satisfied with my trip to The Exchange in Robinson. Now, it has been about several years since the last time I picked up a gaming system. Just the way life is set up for me (maybe most of us), there was never any extra time to just hang around and play video games. There was always something more productive I could be doing with my time. However, that is how I used to think. Now a days, I'm home relaxing more often than not. So having a gaming system would be cool to chill and enjoy some entertainment. I decided to pull up to the exchange and price out some gaming systems. I had already checked Gamestop online for their refurbished PS4s, they were going from $260 - $350 with game bundles. At The Exchange, I walk in and someone greets me immediately. I told them I was looking for a refurbished PS4. The sales guy directed me to their Black Friday Deal which was a Brand new PS4 Spiderman bundle, originally priced at $300, but the deal was $100 off that. So I paid $200 for a brand new system and got a game. You could not beat that deal! My girlfriend, who is not a fan of gaming by any means, was actually thrilled at the price I paid for the new system. So although she doesn't appreciate the gaming, she can always appreciate a steal of a deal! Everybody wins, especially me in this case! read more

Where isn't there an Exchange anymore? And how do they differ? Well, this one has a mediocre metal selection. Although I did buy a new Breaker CD, and I had no idea they were still making music. Kay was overwhelmed by their wall of video game titles. If you don't think there are hipsters in the suburbs, you've never been to an Exchange outside of the city. My absolute favorite store. I'm a full-out movie freak and anything having to do with film gives me a hard-on. There are even videos on the internet with me having sex with film. This store has good prices for DVDS and music but don't bother selling them your items because you won't get any decent offers. They will give you store credit or half the offer amount in cash. The employees are usually helpful except the manager. She was unfriendly to customers, not very nice to the other employees, and yelling across the store. I took about 15-16 DVDs to sell, along with several CDs. The Exchange purchased about 4 DVDs and a few CDs, and when I got home and checked my bag, I only one DVD and the CDs that they did not purchase. I am missing 11-12 DVDs. My guess is that they sold or gave them back to the man who walked in at the same time that I did. I called today to give them a chance to rectify this situation, but nothing was done. I would not suggest taking your CDs or DVDs to this location to sell. It should not have been that hard to keep our bags separated. read more

I has a great experience here and glad to see this nice shop is here over another GameStop. They have a great selection of games and movies and on Black Friday they had a 10% off which was nice. I think prices were competitive and they have a good return policy. The associates were all super nice and will visit again when in the Robinson area. read more

The only good thing about this place is there prices. Other than that this place sucks. First off, what kind of used video game store doesn't have a cd cleaner? So if you get a scratched cd that doesn't work you either have to return it (if you kept the receipt) and watch out they will try and charge you a restocking fee even though they sold you a scratched up cd or you'll have to pay to have it cleaned somewhere else. Second off, they only buy used systems that have not been opened. So for someone like me who knows how to open clean/repair a console I can not trade my console in. However if you have a system that is acting up but is not opened you can get away with trading it in. I promise you 90% of all their consoles are about to break. Also the customer service is awful. I had ordered games to the store and never received any phone calls letting me know it arrived. This happened twice. They also tried taping two ps1 game cases together making it look like it was a double disc case. I returned it immediately and they tried charging me a restocking fee. It wasn't until I argued that they dropped the fee. And lastly, I have called them to ask if they had a game in stock and they would say they do. I drove up only to find out that they do not have it. This happened twice as well. I am done with this place. Game Masters Realm in Hopewell is much better. I don't work for them so do not think I am trying to diss a similar game store to try and get more costumers for Game Masters Realm. I only mention them because they provide EXCELLENT service (except for the boy, he is very rude). They open clean/repair all their systems. They allow you to test the system before you buy it. They have a cd cleaner so no need to worry about getting a scratched game that doesn't work. Their prices are a little higher and they do not sell any music thats they only bad thing about the place. read more
