Some members constantly save large sections of the front row for friends who don't arrive until class is about to start. Today, Friday class for example, one lady used like 8 water bottles to reserve spots for people who showed up right as class began. Meanwhile, people who actually arrived early couldn't use those spaces. It's honestly surprising to see such territorial behavior from grown women in a fitness class...embarrassing. I understand saving one spot for a friend, but this has become excessive and very territorial. The classes get packed, and some of the behavior feels less like a fitness class and more like auditions for Dancing With the Stars. We get it... everyone has their favorite spot, but don't be selfish. The class should feel welcoming and fair for everyone. I hope the gym staff will address this so all members can enjoy the classes equally. I can also see how new clients could feel discouraged from trying these classes when faced with this type of behavior.

These additions don't have to be overwhelming; starting with just one of each would allow members to gradually become familiar and build confidence over time. For many members, growth comes from small steps outside their comfort zone. Providing access to these tools in a supportive environment could actually help reduce gym anxiety, not increase it. It creates a space where members feel empowered to improve at their own pace. Today is February 20, 2026. Yesterday I walked into The Carlsbad Planet Fitness to see if I could…read moreuse my Medicare Silver Sneakers benefit and start working out at that location, just a mile from my home. The person at the desk told me I had to get my silver's sneakers membership number so I left. Today I was going for a walk and I noticed one of my Apple earbuds was missing and Apple Find My app said it was at the Carlsbad Planet Fitness. I drove down there and walked in and asked if anybody had turned it in. The Apple Find My app and it says it was in the Planet Fitness location, but it was not indicating it was at the front desk. It also said somebody had found it and reported it and was in the building. I asked if I could walk around and locate it with my app. George, the power hungry, condescending big guy at the front desk who had major negative attitude issue said "no". I looked at him and I said I wasn't going to work out, just take a walk around to locate my $200 earbud. I was out within three minutes the app was not able to find it. I asked George if I could leave my name and number and he said no. I said why not. He said "I told you couldn't walk around to find your earbud and you walked in anyway." Well, I'm a 70-year-old senior citizen looking for an expensive Apple earbud. It was an unreasonable restriction not to be able to walk in and see if my iPhone can locate it and it was even more unreasonable not to take my telephone number in case somebody turned it in. I looked at him and I said that's too bad because I was going to sign up here. And now I'm not. And I don't think you should too. Even though I wasn't a current customer, I was going to be, and George certainly lacks compassion, understanding, and sympathy for senior citizens. Bad combination for a manager type who is full of himself, and doesn't give a hoot about others. My apple earbud is still in the Planet Fitness and I have no way of getting it back now.
