So when you make an appointment, and they ask about your insurance, and put you on hold for a long time, shouldn't they tell you which doctor takes your insurance, rather than allowing you to get a sitter, show up for said appointment and being told that they have to reschedule because only another doctor takes your insurance? read more

My eye exam experience at Eye Care & Surgery Center of Warren: 1. The actual eye exam was NOT performed by an optometrist, but by an ASSISTANT. Is this even legal? And if it is, I consider it UNETHICAL. 2. DOCTOR only performs the PORTION of the exam where your eyes are dilated (considering the other cost-cutting measures, I wouldn't be surprised if EC&SC uses off-brand drops too, my eyes were uncomfortably blurry, not just dilated, for hours afterward). 3. DOCTOR dismissed my question about a part of the exam I felt was missing. My former eye doctor gives a thorough test in that area and tells you exactly what your options are. 4. They make you fill out a ridiculously long online form. 5. The staff I dealt with were indifferent. 6. The in-house optician (or maybe another assistant?) gave me a dirty look when I asked for my Rx and has a laughingly small selection of frames anyway. I am going back to my original optometrist/optician, who, despite now being 45 minutes away (I moved a year ago) and a bit quirky, at least cares about his clientele. read more

I can't say enough terrible things about the obnoxious and unprofessional staff!. In a world where knowledge is at our finger tips, reviews are readily available and great doctors are easily accessible, I don't understand how a group of 'profesaiknals' get away with being so nasty! Not once, but twice I've had problems dealing with an office staff who doesn't return calls, doesn't follow up and won't help fix a problem! It's hard to believe that I've fallen victim to their verbal abuse twice! Shame on me for going back to that practice a second time. read more

A few years ago there was a few bad apples which made me go to the Westfield office. However, those people no longer seem to be there and Dr. Shah is pretty awesome as well as the people at the desk and the woman who helped bring me in for my usual up to date contact check up. I can understand the bad reviews from before but they don't deserve it anymore as of 2018. read more

I have been a patient of the Eye Care and surgery Center for several years and am very pleased with the care I have received. The front desk staff make it easy to schedule my appointments and provide a very pleasant atmosphere. The technicians who performed the preliminary testing were friendly, knowledgeable and patient with any questions I had. I have had several procedures performed by Dr. Stahl, and I couldn't imagine having put my eyes in the care of anyone else. Her caring bedside manner enabled me to feel totally at ease with the procedures, and her expertise provided me with a perfect result. I am very grateful to her as well as the entire staff for making the whole experience so easy. All in all, I am very happy to have chosen the Eye Care and Surgery Center for my optical needs and would highly recommend them. Carol D read more

Just the facts as I see them this 4th time there (a compilation) 1 Greet staff didn't know who I was for a scheduled appointment they were unprepared,, and showed no interest in who I was until they took there own time to look on the computer.. Also,, much to do with personal Cell Phone usage over and above patient care and attention was observed multiple times 2 Tremendous feeling of being rushed,,, and valid, pertinent questions were bothersome to them. 3 First assistant to gather and confirm data before the doctor saw me was routinely bland, and unprofessional again,,, seeming to rush me through, with little or no concern to me as a paying patient 4 Appears they need an office manager to steer the ship here 5 There eye glass frames are Insanely Overpriced Final,,, I'll still go here,, Dr Jacobs is close to me,, and he's one of the best,,, Just don't like is office staff, and there lack of professionalism read more

Incredibly rude. Nothing explained and when asked questions, they acted like I was an idiot for asking. More than one doctor there was like this as well. Inflated prices and tries to trick you into paying for new lenses and/or contacts. Will not be returning and telling others not to go there. If I could give less than 1 star I would. read more

If I could give Dr. Jacobs a 0 rating I would. I had an appointment with him yesterday afternoon. After the examination, he had informed me that I could buy my contact lenses directly from him. I had told him that I could get them cheaper through my job. He had asked where I worked and I told him that I work at LabCorp. He then criticized me and said that they only do medical testing. I had mentioned to him it's what they call an employee incentive. He was so annoyed at the fact that I had not only asked for a prescription for my contacts, I had also asked him for a prescription for colored contacts as well. He was quick to say no. I had mentioned to him that I had worn color contacts in the past. He told me that he does not believe in that and it's unnatural. I told him that it's unnatural to wear contacts. He was so annoyed at me that he picked up the phone and proceeded to have the medical assistant come back in the room. When the medical assistant came back to the room, he had told her in a harsh, nasty tone to just give me a prescription for what I want. I had told him it's my money and it's my eyes and I'm going to do whatever I want. I've never been to a doctors office where the doctor was so rude and so quick to dismiss a patient because of a simple request of the patient. I guess this doctor is so old school that he forgot about patient ethics. Maybe someone should teach him to respect his patients and their needs. I will never go back to this office again. read more

They make you wait an hour beyond your appointment time. No respect for people's time.

I have gone to The Eye Care and Surgery Center in the past and the Doctor that took care of me was great. I used my job insurance and had no problems but I went last year in June and used the same insurance and received a letter a few Months later saying my insurance was rejected. I called the phone number on the bill left messages but no one got back to me. I thought since they did not call it was cleared up. A few more Months later I get a letter telling me that the bill will go in collections. I finally got a person on the phone in their billing department who was uncaring about the insurance problem and did not call them to ask what was the problem was, she said Pay by the end on December or it will go into collections. I explain that if she had returned my calls we would not be talking now. I went to my job's payroll department and they told me to use my other insurance card, which I did on December 06,2017 on that card there is a copay which I paid and got a receipt for. I believed everything was fixed but today January 5,2018 I received a letter from The Eye Care and Surgery Center saying my bill is now in collections and it does not reflect the copay that I paid on December 06,2017. I feel everyone should know that this business has known me for years and Still they treated me very poorly. read more
