I pay for a family membership and was told that my long term girlfriend that I live with was not considered family and therefore she could only attend for an additional fee as a long term houseguest. I then asked to be switched to a single membership and the president informed me that I could not. Basically, they want the revenue for a family membership but only allow me to attend. There are other unmarried families that attend the club however they are not subjected to the same regulations for some reason. I was also told by The president that they do not check marriage licenses but would check mine in the future if I decided to get married and wanted to bring my wife. The clubs policies are capricious and arbitrary. The snack bar is operated by a third party and has become expensive, with poor service and poor quality food. The chicken tenders for example are processed chicken paste. I don't love giving that kind of food to my kids. The lifeguards are generally pretty good but some of them seem disengaged and I have occasionally seen some of them on smartphones. They are very cognizant about people touching the lane lines!

The staff was friendly and helpful. It was my honor to have been paired with Frank , who said he has played Oak Hills Park 300 times a year since he retired 20 years ago! Not only is he knowledgeable about the course and it's recent history, he is just a super nice man. Golf is a social sport, meant to share with friends. Frank and I shared some great conversation and he is living proof that you don't have to hit the ball a long way as long as you can consistently hit it down the middle! I am inspired! And to top it off, they charged me for going 15 minutes over the hour, even though that time was lost to their own setup issues and poor management.
