First time here and wow! I wish I lived closer to this restaurant. Comfy atmosphere, right next to a pretty scenic waterfall too. Friendly service, great food and fast. Super clean bathroom. Easy parking Excellent all around. Highly recommend.

This venue is lovely. There is a gorgeous waterfall that you can view as you walk down the path. Lots of seating. The night we were there there was only one band but it seems to have space for two or three to play at the same time. The service was excellent. Really friendly and cared that you were getting what you ordered. The food? Meh. It was okay. I give it a 3. The menu isn't very extensive. I have already forgotten what I got. Beer was also a little weird tasting. Still a terrific place to see a band. And the bathrooms? Chefs kiss!! Five stars. We will definitely be back but might have dinner elsewhere.

Jazz by the waterfall!

Wow! This is the place to be on a Sunday night. Live music, some of the best jazz I've heard (we came here to see Don Byron). Acoustics are great, you get a good mix everywhere in the house, although it's too loud for conversation (more of a concert vibe than background dining music), which is great, because the music is where it's at. It's very dark in here during the show. Reserve a table! Food and drink: they had one vegetarian entree and it was sold out early in the night, but luckily they have some substantial vegetarian appetizers. Plenty here for meat, poultry and fish eaters as well. Good selection of wine, beer, cocktails and mocktails. The servers do their best to keep up with the pace, and they're friendly. Binary gender restrooms. Pay cash, card, or scan a QR code for food and musicians. Make sure to check out the view of the river and beyond!

The Falcon still lives its name to this day, with wonderful shows, concerts, and food. They're definitely a success as the place will fill up just when it starts. Getting there early is strongly recommended to avoid any conflict. There is a decent amount of room while moving around. However, do take caution as the main lights are off since it's hard to see. Most of the tables are pretty much close to one another which adds up to be careful. I think making it a little bit wider would be a great benefit to avoid any issues. The menu has quite a lot to offer, especially with the burgers and sandwiches, and also libations. There's a variety to pick from within those categories which brings on the food and drink game. They have great service and are very accommodating throughout the whole experience, especially refilling any drinks when it's halfway without asking. Great food and events - The Falcon has it all!

Love, love, love. The place is packed. Great drinks, great company, and the secret waterfall is breathtakingly beautiful.

Wow this place is amazing! It's two floors of awesome music memorabilia with huge dining areas and a bar on each floor. It's an awesome place for live music. No indoor dining right now due to covid but outside dining is perfectly spaced, complete with waterfall and a stage for musicians to do their thing. The servers definitely get a workout running up and down the many levels set with private tables. The tables each had a small candle that a friendly host came to light for us. Our server was so nice and took the time to show us around inside. She apparently loves this place too, so gladly telling us all about it. I fell in love with it. This place should be packed. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat, the food is good although I heard the menu has changed due to the pandemic. If you are lucky enough to be there at sunset you will see the bats flying to their nightly destination! Show this place some love and pay it a visit. It's a nice place to relax and get a bite to eat while listening to live music, a rarity these days!

Great spot for live music and killer drinks. We didn't try the food as we came for after drinks but we will be making a return trip. If for no other reason than the view from the patio! I didn't know a lot about the venue before we visited and learning about the donation-based ticketing for visiting performers is very cool. I cannot recommend enough - go check this place out!

Outdoor dining and music!

Best place to hear world class live music and enjoy a fine meal. Beautiful seating too, right next to the waterfall, with outdoor seating on a patio that follows the stream...there's no other place like it in the Hudson Valley. Highly recommended.

The Falcon is a pretty cool spot for live music. I've never been there before but have driven past it at least 200 times. We were there last weekend to see Lindsey Webster. She's a great jazz vocalist from Woodstock with an amazing voice. This was my second time seeing her. She is quite popular in the smooth jazz world. We had small bites and drinks. The service is super polite and very fast. The food was good. It didn't knock my socks off but it was tasty. The atmosphere is remarkable. There's two levels/floors and two live shows going on at the same time. Parking was a bit of a hassle but to be fair, we didn't know about the extra parking lots. We also didn't know we needed to reserve a table in the venue. We hung out at the bar for an hour and they did seat us. No matter where you're sitting, you'll get a great view of the stage. If you like live music in a place that gives you a NYC vibe in The Hudson Valley, go to The Falcon.

More recently, a coworker of mine mentioned she had dined here. Hubs and I had just finished with a gender reveal party in Stony Point and decided to come here then afterwards head up home. Ship L. has a warm, woodsy charm with dark woods, a large bar area to the right as you enter. This place has a spacious dining area on the left with an old-school energy that feels just right for a long-standing rest'nt like this one. Service was great from everyone: friendly, attentive and welcoming all around. That said, awesome service and history can only carry a restaurant but so far. We were told their long-standing chef of 30+ yrs either resigned(?) or didn't want to work here(?) and based on what my coworker told me- that she noticed a difference in the cooking not too long ago when she came here. Sadly, it shows. Our escargots were extremely salty. My husband's pork chop was salty. His vegetables also salty. At that point, I held out hope that my Chilean sea bass might at least redeem the evening. No such luck. Salty again. Even the mushroom risotto- which actually had delicious flavor, was overpowered by too much salt. By then, after one appetizer and two entrées all salty, we figured dessert would at least save the night. Nope. I ordered profiteroles with chocolate gelato instead of vanilla and was truly looking forward to them. Except, the profiteroles were rock hard. The chocolate drizzle tasted like Hershey's syrup, making the dessert taste cheap for a restaurant of this type. My husband, who always goes for sorbet, ordered the mango flavor- but to me it tasted like an unripe mango blended with sugar just to make it palatable.. If you're from the Caribbean or know a true mango taste, you know exactly what I mean. And don't even get me started on the cocktails- they tasted more like juice than actual drinks. At the end of the night, we realized we weren't imagining things. A $245 dinner with weak cocktails, overly salty food and disappointing desserts was no balance for a restaurant with such a long-standing history. For that reason... we out.

Sat at the bar and ordered a strawberry mojito. Fresh strawberries and mint were nice to see, but there was hardly any alcohol in the drink and the straw was far too narrow to be able to take a sip without it becoming obstructed. Poured woefully short as well, topped with even more ice and seltzer. Had the tempura shrimp to start. Generous portion, well seasoned. Slightly rubbery but not detracting from the dish. Aioli was great, but could have used a little more. Chili sauce was also good, but could barely get any in the ramekin it was in. Bacon cheeseburger with mushroom for my main followed. Looking back, there was actually NO bacon on the burger. Not sure if the kitchen overlooked it, or what. $4 for added mushrooms seemed a bit exorbitant at first, but they were oyster mushrooms. Fries were crisp and wonderfully seasoned. Ordered the burger medium - came out medium and juicy.... But absolutely flavorless. If their head chef loved salt like their fry cook, this burger would have been spectacular. The mushrooms never got to drive off extra water because of the lack of salt, and the meat just fell flat without seasoning. I wanted to love this burger, but I just couldn't no matter how hard I tried. Had the crack pie, advertised to be similar to Monofuku Milk Bar... for someone who had crack pie multiple times before it became the phenomena it is now, this falls short, by a lot. The chess pie filling is far too dense, lacking caramelization. The pie crust was undercooked and anemic. Sugar decoration on top added zero value to the dessert, and coconut ice cream is far too competitive a flavor to put against this dessert. Sauces on the plate were weak and boring eye service. Paid my $80 bill, tipped (even though the bartender was rarely seen or asking how things were), and headed out. For a quiet weekday, the service and quality of food were severely underwhelming.
