We have been here twice for the brunch, live music and outdoor view and we really like this place. The menu is limited but creative and everything I have tried is good. The first time we had brunch here there was a farmers maket out front. This totally sold us and we were told that they would be there every Sunday. We went back a couple of weekends later with some friends whom we talked it up to, so we were disappointed when they were not there. I asked the waitress what happened and we were told that the farmers market people decided it was not profitable enough for them. This is not the restaurants fault but it was still disappointing. Now, the reason I am giving The Falcon 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because of the 10% added to our bill for the band. We totally would want to give money for the band but no where on the menu does it state that it would be added to your bill. So if you have never eaten there before, you get your check with that 10% already added to it. There should be a suggested donation or at least a warning on the menu or by the waitresses. It's misleading. Since this was our second time it was no longer a surprise to us, but we forgot to mention it to the 6 people we invited. And they were not pleased. Again, it's not the amount that was upsetting, it was that you don't find out until you receive your check that left a bad taste in our mouth. My boyfriend and I are still a fan and will be back, but until they make sure that customers are told about this extra fee either on the menu or verbally, this review will remain a 4 star one. read more

Go for the music, forget the overpriced food. $12 for 12 mussels and 2 baby clams, I had to ask for bread to dip in the sauce. We waited half an hour for this appetizer to arrive. The angus beef sandwich was overcooked roast beef on a ciabatta roll with fries for $17. The wife loved her $22 salmon, she said there just wasn't enough of it. I got tired of trying to flag down waiters, "I need a fork, where's my appetizer, can I get another drink," by the time my cold decaf arrived, I gave up. App, the 2 dinners, one wine, seltzers, a dessert and 2 cold coffees, $90+ with tip, plus a donation to the musicians. read more

The Falcon is one of the coolest places I've ever been to. They have amazing food; one of my favorite things to order here is the burgers. Wonderful music acts can be enjoyed as a small concert or music to eat to. They bring in tons of amazing musicians. The staff is always friendly. The walls are usually decorated with beautiful art created by local artists. They are also good for booking events with large groups of people; we chose the Falcon as the venue for many school-related banquets, and they were always a huge success. The only thing good about this place is the music. The food is mediocre, the service is terrible (20 minutes to get a beer), food was cold, there is literally no where to dance, the food runners rush around like they're under the whip (he spilled my wife's salad dressing all over her lap then took forever to get the mess cleaned up and get her more. Waitress never came around to ask if we need anything, always had to flag her down. I'd rather see shows in the Falcon Underground with only drinks because they clearly don't run a tight restaurant. read more

This is one of the best musical venues in the Hudson Valley, no doubt. Very nice large hall with wooden beams and accents, impressive photo gallery on the walls, great acoustics, sound system, great food at reasonable prices, and Tony Falco has some of the biggest names in jazz appearing regularly. The policy at the door is unique: suggested $20 donation, but everyone is welcome no matter what the size of the donation! I strongly suggest everyone give this place a try. Tony has worked tirelessly to give musicians a comfortable platform, and audiences the chance to hear and see groups that they would otherwise have to drive to NYC to experience! read more

My husband and I tried this place on a whim. We were so happy we did! Our waitress, Megan was so friendly and attentive, the food was excellent and the view of the waterfall on the deck was beautiful. Should of Walked Out! If I didn't drive over an hour to come see a band, and have 3 friends with me I would have. The staff that greets you are Lacking Customer Service Skills. It was a man and a young girl, not welcoming, and RUDE. They were overwhelmed and could not handle the amount of people, No management or people skills. If I owned the Falcon, they would be fired. Well where do I begin. Went to the show at the Falcon last night (7/27) to see the Funk Junkies.... awesome band. The service was a lot to be desired ... waited over an hour for a hamburger. Waitress never came back to see if we wanted another round of drinks nor did she ask how dinner was. Food and service was horrible. Then to go outside and find that somebody hit my car .... no note .... nothing. This is the second time there that my car was damaged. They just lost great customers. read more

Just went to the falcon for the first time. The wait staff was excellent and very attentive but not pushy. The food was perfect. ( I got the falcon burger my wife got the vegi burger. Both cooked perfectly). The music was great. The setting is very friendly. They don't charge for the music it's donation only. And the meals are very reasonable in price. Food was absolute trash ordered fish tacos and pork belly tacos. Fish tacos were borderline inedible and pork belly tacos were a pork chop tossed in bbq sauce thrown in a cold tortilla. Better off going to burger king up the street. read more

We went here to watch the Memorial Day parade and we had such a great time! The deck is spacious for many outdoor diners and there is a large variety of beer. It was perfect to keep our baby in the shade. The bartender with the blonde hair (can't remember her name) was super accommodating and the owner graciously gave cold bottled water as the marching bands passed. We will definitely be back to enjoy the views, food and great live music! read more

I would've given them a 5 star review but our server made it extremely hard for me to do that. When we got there there was probably only about 4 or 5 tables occupied, and several other active servers so it wasn't just her working. She took our orders and then we never saw her again....I mean legitimately she never once acknowledged us after taking our orders. Thank God for the other people working there, they were lovely and checked on us and got us anything else we needed. I'm not sure though maybe that's just how they work there? Like the server takes your order and then everyone else takes care of you? She wasn't even the one to bring us our bill! She only acknowledged us again to take the credit card! I literally had to ask someone if they share tips because she truly did not earn it. Our check said her name was Megan but I'm not sure if that's correct? She had short pixie cut hair. When my mom comes here she said she usually has a girl with long dark hair who is wonderful so maybe next time we'll get her! This experience, or lack thereof, just really left a bad taste in my mouth. However, EVERYTHING ELSE was delightful!!!!!!! read more

I visited here last night for the first time to see the Slam Allen concert. I experienced exceptionally friendly & efficient service from the moment I entered this venue.The meals we enjoyed were both cooked to perfection & the beer from a nearby brewery was very good also.The acoustics & atmosphere were both fantastic.They have also added a music museum which I didn't get to see in this trip but no worries because I'm going to become a mainstay. read more

Been to the Falcon two times for brunch prior to yesterday's experience and service, food, music were amazing. Yesterday's brunch, well, the young adults that they're hiring for servers and bussers were either all having a bad day or they need new staff. Nasty attitudes. 5 of us together for brunch, under my name but arriving at different times, were seated at two different tables because the left and right hand weren't communicating very well. When we all realized what had happened, and after wasting at least 20 minutes "waiting for each other's party to arrive" we joined at one table. Next, we all order brunch entrees along with two sided of bacon and 1 side of corned beef hash. What happens next is a HUGE no-no in the restaurant industry. Our meals were not delivered at the same time. Any professional chef knows that you ALWAYS wait until all meals are ready before bringing any meals out to a table, with the exception of a minute or two. So first a male server delivers the side of corned beef hash....all by itself. Nothing else in his hands and says "your meals are on the way out." Complete lie. Close to 20 minutes later, we still don't have our entrees and the corned beef hash is cold now. So we ask a server if they could please return it to the kitchen to warm it up until ALL of our entrees are ready. Then about 5 minutes later....two dishes come out. About 5 minutes later, two more dishes come out. About 5 minutes later, the last dish comes out. I kid you not. It wasn't a minute or two in between dishes, it was at least 5 and by ANY industry standard, that is TOO long. Lastly, the corned beef hash comes out, but where are the two extra sides of bacon? So I say to the food server "we think you forgot out bacon." "it's coming" she stated coldly and with no apology to the fact that we just endured receiving all our food in dribs and drabs over the course of at least 10 minutes. A few minutes later, one side of bacon, then a few minutes later, the 2nd side of bacon. Honestly I'm ready to have a melt down at this point from the complete lack of any remorse for such haphazard service and I honestly just wanted to get up and leave. A few minutes later an older women comes over to our table and asks us how everything is. I ask if she is the manager, and she says no. Ok, no idea who she was but at that point she was an ear to listen. An older ear and one more mature than the 19 year olds that were providing us with horrible service since we walked in the door...at least we thought. So as I'm attempting to explain our horrible experiences, she cuts me off and says "but the food is delicious right? And then offers us a half fast, cold, almost robotic apology and completely unsympathetic. No thank you Falcon...we won't be returning. All any of us needed to rectify the situation was just ONE SINCERE apology from someone...anyone! Nope, they made us feel as if because their food is so delicious that they were doing us the favor. Sorry, but they're are plenty of restaurants in the Hudson Valley that serve delicious food and that would appreciate a table of 5. read more

They recently opened a new venue on the second floor - the Falcon Beer Garden - great selection of NYS beers on tap. What a wonderful place for a evening or afternoon lunch. This is a really great gem around this area. My wife and I were on an overnight trip and stayed in a cabin about 10 minutes away from The Falcon. The place is well set up: The main floor for live music and a restaurant. The lower floor also had live music, but was a much more casual cafeteria style space with bar food and drinks, and the outdoor space has a great view. The decor of all of the collectible items was fun to look at too. The restaurant food was OK, and yes, a bit pricey. I got the spaghetti and meatballs, my wife got the tabbouleh. Overall, an unexpectedly cool experience with a great mission to support artists. read more

Our family decided to go out for brunch on Easter Sunday so we decided to try The Falcon. I had made reservations and at that time requested our table not be close to the band because I wasn't sure how loud the music might be. Unfortunately our table was very close to the band and the music was VERY loud for the small room. It was so loud none of us could converse with each other. My suggestion to the owners would be to have softer music for brunches as the music should be in keeping with the occasion. The food was very good and we found it to be a very interesting spot, unfortunately the music was just too loud. read more

OK, don't come here when there is live music if you don't think you will like pretty loud music. Four of us came for Sunday brunch and the place was mobbed. We had to park in the satellite lot (only a 1 minute walk to the building) and when I got inside from parking the car my wife was still waiting to be seated even though we had reservations. We got our table after a few minutes and also had a pretty long wait for someone to come by and take a drink order. I had actually given up and was at the bar to order, being kind of ignored by the bartender because she was so busy, when someone finally did come by. It was worth the wait. After having a beer and relaxing, we got into the groove of the music and atmosphere and had a really good time. There were people of all ages there from little kids to elderly folks that were really rocking out. :) This is a place where you have to know and appreciate what you are getting yourself into. If you come for Sunday brunch do not expect , unless it's advertised as such, that you will be serenaded by a classical string quartet and it will be a quiet murmuring crowd eating gentile food. They serve really decent pub grub and actually a high-ish end of the spectrum of such. I had the over easy burger which was excellent (although I ordered medium rare it came back medium well and was a little dry because of that, but it was a flavor bomb). I am sure just being so busy makes a difference.The stuffed french toast looked great and the super sandwich was really good. My wife enjoyed her breakfast burrito as well. They had an OK selection of beers, but were out of a couple that we tried to order. The band ended up being fantastic and we stayed for their entire set. People really seemed to be enjoying themselves. After the music was done we walked outside next to the waterfall and imagined what the place must be like in warmer weather. What a great location. Decks over looking the water, and a rock and roll museum and beer garden downstairs. What a great spot, we can't wait to come back. read more

One of the best music venues I have visited. The food is great and the drinks are fantastic yet a little pricey. Having visited 25 or so times, I have never been let down. Upstairs is a dinner theater type setting in rustic fashion. Downstairs hosts one of the Northeast's largest rock and roll memorabilia collections. Food downstairs is via walkup service and features burgers and pizza. Upstairs treats you to dishes like fish tacos, salmon, salads, and a nice collection of 'off the beaten road' specialties. The Falcon features bands both upstairs and downstairs most evenings. The view from outside is spectacular and the patio/deck offers an escape from the music if you wish to chat with friends on a warm night. Music usually starts around 7pm and ends around 11 making for a not so late night out. read more
