The owners and staff are extremely attentive and hospitality rings through the air. When my mom passed last year, I decided to use their catering space upstairs for our wake gathering. Moved into the town and this was the first Resturant I went to with one of my girls. I kid you not, I ordered a pork chop and to this day i haven't tasted one pork chop that can come close to this one. Ah, it was so juicy, the mustard reduction was just chef's kiss. The service at Brix was very attentive, constantly checking on enjoyment of the food, plus getting finished plates and refills. Nice to have great service rather than other places where they are indifferent and just tip hunting. Raspberry peach lemonade was amazing, just sweet enough and fresh, no artificial taste or syrup fusion. Appreciated that they don't charge refills on it. The lobster roll, definitely not cheap on portions of it, plus well buttered and seasoned. The brioche bun was toasted right and kept warm and pillowy soft. One of better lobster rolls I ever had, actual effort to dress it rather butter and it's done. For the truffle parm fries, we're great but if tossed with butter then tossed with parm and truffle would produced a better product then just dump on top. Honestly... 4.5 would be fair. Wanted a solid place to eat after visiting a local winery. This place was perfect for that. The food was good, service was lovely and I would certainly return there frequently if I were local. We had the bang bang shrimp (slightly salty... Maybe the breading??...) but flavorful and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. And the funnel cake was slightly over fried. The seafood Mac and cheese alone is worth the visit, the wings were great and my cannoli was perfectly fresh. I wish the business pure success. First things first. This was the first restaurant in three years who actually cooked the French fries the way I asked for the. I asked for burnt, not well done but slightly burnt and they delivered them. Perfectly! The place was very quiet when we got there. Which probably had something to do with showing up around four. The staff was friendly and greeted us as we walked in. But they looked surprised like they were not opened yet so I asked. The bartender said yes and told us to sit in one of the small two top tables. Which for me are too small if you're looking to eat a meal. She then said oh just sit anywhere take one of the bigger tables if you would like more room and we did. I order a beer my wife a Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. The beer was fine and the martini was chilled but could have been a bit colder. The food was great. I had the flank steak sandwich and my wife hade a salad with grilled chicken. Everything was delicious and again perfectly seasoned. Not overly salty like many places tend to season. It's a nice place, cozy. Friendly and gives off a vibe like it's run by a family. I like that. Took a wrong turn and ended up in Marlboro lol We stopped in for a bite and it was awesome! First off, the esthetic of this place is great. Nice wood floors, bar top looks fancy, and above is a decorative, old-fashioned, metal ceiling with soft (but not dim) lighting from tasteful chandeliers. Props to the designer The nachos were loaded and piled high. The toppings were plentiful, so you won't end up with a bunch of chips at the bottom with nothing on them! By far the best nachos I've ever had! The Brix Burger is definitely worthy of being their signature burger. It wasn't overly complex, was grilled perfectly, and wasn't sloppy/drippy, unlike the burgers you'd have at other places. Had a cannoli for dessert and it was as delicious as I expected it to be! Also, the waitress was an *absolute delight* and if I ever swing through Marlboro again, I'm coming back! This cute gastropub is in the middle of a quaint little town center. At first glance, it doesn't look like much, but once you walk in it's easy to tell that this place is worth the drive. It's upscale rustic and was decorated beautifully when we went during Christmas time. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and kind about food restrictions and have no issues asking the chef. Marlboro has so few options that I want Brix to succeed but it's not hitting the mark. We have been several times but drive down to Newburgh for better options now. - this isn't a gastropub. There are beers on tap, but not an expansive selection and the food isn't pub food, it's a hybrid of modern American and fusion. - the cocktail menu leans sweet which isn't my taste but locals seem to enjoy it. - the wine menu is a confused selection of bargain wineries at a high mark up. J. Lohr Cab was as good as it got. - the food itself isn't great. For example, my most recent meal was the chicken Caesar salad. The chicken tasted like frozen strips it wasn't fresh grilled. The grilled lemon was cold. The dressing wasn't fresh it was bottled. It was maybe an $18 salad but not worth $18. Wings were ok, nothing special, similar to pizza takeout wings. Same with the burger, the patties seemed frozen - service is occasionally very good or very immature, bartenders on their phones while the bar top is sticky. Some of the servers are really attentive, though. Overall, it feels kinda like a diner in a fancier atmosphere, but with higher prices, appealing to a young crowd. You can get a better salad and BL at Alexis for less. read more

Loved Brix! My husband and I stopped in for lunch after exploring the area. We were visiting from Ohio. We just happened upon the little town of Marlboro. Brix has a wonderful ambiance. It's totally updated with the story of the building and some history projected onto the wall. The light fixtures were gorgeous, the bathrooms very clean, and all staff were very welcoming. Our server was doing table service all on her own that day and was hustling. She was super friendly and attentive throughout the service even as it got busier. I got a Cobb salad with fresh avocado (I subbed Caesar dressing for the balsamic vinaigrette) . It was delish.My husband got the Greek salad with chicken. My Cobb salad had, again, fresh avocado, egg, blue cheese and bacon. I did wish there were some cucumbers (my preference). However, our meals were so good. WOW. from the moment I came through the door, everybody is totally engaged and locked in on phenomenal service. The bartender let me know where I could park safely. Mikaela was out and she was absolutely phenomenal. She made some great suggestions on the menu and very cleverly. Got our order in before a big 20 top party that was previously sat when we came in. she had suggested the Brix bowl so I had that with shrimp. it was absolutely phenomenal. I had heard that they source and purchased their food locally and sustainably. It was obvious with all four of our entrées that there is an extremely strong culinary presence in the kitchen. In addition, the manager came over, checked on us to make sure everything was great and pre-bust our table, which was awesome. He may have been the owner. I completely understand it's a difficult time for the restaurant industry. But this restaurant needs to take a step back and reevaluate it business as a whole. Mine and my boyfriend's food was horrible. Cocktails were really bad. His beer was completely flat. Appetizer were little "Korean BBQ Rolls" straight from the freezer, really gross. My "Steak Frites" were disgusting and my boyfriend's salmon was just as disgusting. Service was less than mediocre. Then a group of about 10-15 "young" guys sat near us in a tiny room who were so loud and rowdy. A couple at a table next to us got up and left before their appetizers came. We should have taken the hint. Overall I felt like i was at and eating food from a catering hall. We could not wait to pay the $100+ check and leave.
