The Farmhouse is located on the west side of Middletown, where the Green Turtle used to be. They have completely renovated the building and style. The menu offers a good variety of entrees that are prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Pricing is on the higher end when compared with other similar restaurant, however, it does reflect the finer quality and preparation. Staff was friendly and attentive. Inside dining area is quite large, with option of outdoor seating as well. If you wanted to try something new in the MOT area, this place would be a good choice. read more

Ah the dilemma of making a reflection of my experience at a very attractive restaurant with an appealing menu whose management at the end of the day did everything they could to make things right. But at the end of the day two stars for more than one reason. It began with a chaotic front end where check in perhaps due to a very tight entrance and misplaced host's station made things uncomfortable for those of us giving our names. Individuals leaving squeezed by those coming in and for older individuals coming in the directions were not very clear (As we waited two couples asked me how they would know if their table was ready.). Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She made the start of our meal very pleasant as we casually perused the menu. Upon making our order we were informed that the cornbread destined to accompany our soup was just being baked. We said "we are in no rush." NO RUSH as in ... when the corn bread is oven baked even if it takes 15 minutes just bring it with our soup. I need to mention we were seated at a high top, which by its nature has limited (TIGHT) table space. I have never understood those diners who prefer to eat a dinner on high tops but I will when necessary but space for dishes is always tight. We were enjoying our conversation because WE WERE NOT IN A RUSH satisfied that our soups with cornbread would be coming to start our dinner. AND THEN IT HAPPENED... what I refer to as THE WORST MISTAKE ANY RESTAURANT CAN MAKE!!! I know some of you might suggest hairs in the soup is worse but I never ever want my entree served while I am still enjoying my soup or salad course! A young man carrying a tray of food approached our table ... the tray had both of our soups AND both of our entrees!!! And, of course he had no idea who ordered the salmon nor who ordered the meatloaf. He didn't know I ordered the hot bubble onion cheese soup and my partner the gazpacho. And, of course no cornbread, which was the reason for the delayed arrival of the soups. WE ... the TWO OF US ... had to rearrange the table to make room as we were forced to decide which food should get cold (Ok, the gazpacho was cold.). The food looked appealing but now I felt like rushing ... I sampled the meatloaf ... LUKE WARM (maybe ... the warmth of my entree was questionable making me wonder if it had been played before my soup's cheese was melted.). Our overloaded table top pushed us into rushing ... then our waitress arrived with the infamous cornbread and she caught my frustration. When did the restaurant industry decide that food should be delivered by individuals who didn't take customers' orders?? Maybe our waitress wouldn't have served soup with entrees like a high school cafeteria finds ok as apparently also does THE FARMHOUSE MIDDLETOWN. Our waitress was aware enough to go to her manager (We didn't ask for management.). The manager took away the cooled and soon to be coagulating meatloaf ensuring me that a new plate at the proper level of heat would be served. By now my dining partner was almost done with her salmon (Served at the proper heat.) and I had gulped down most of my soup. Pleasant shared dining was now impossible. A different person delivered my entree telling me it was right off the stove. He waited for a thumbs up. The rush and stress led to my boxing my entree (destined for breakfast). Management did the right thing without being asked ... they took the soups off the bill. While waiting to pay we couldn't help but notice that at another table a couple's entrees was served to. them with the nachos they had apparently ordered as an appetizer. Soon ... they had called for a manager. Apparently the kitchen has never enjoyed a relaxing dinner out with each course being served with proper timing allowing diners time to relax and enjoy their food rather than rushing through it. Again, we appreciated management's attention ... my friend said her food was good ... mine was rushed but over a leisurely breakfast I did enjoy the flavors of my leftover meatloaf, potatoes and sucatosh. This is my review on Sunday breakfast only. I absolutely loved how the place was decorated. Place was clean and although it was busy, we got our table immediately. Staff were super friendly and always checking up on our table (LOVE THAT!) Suggestions: - We were seated at a booth. It honestly feels like they tried fitting as much seating as possible in one space leaving it hard for us to get in and out of our booth (granted, we're not heavy people and it was still a tight space for us LOL) - Omelet bar was AMAZING!! would've liked to have seen more options where the rest of the food was though. Baked Chicken, Salad and Fish are not what I think of when I think breakfast. The one small piece they give you of a Waffle was good but the bacon and sausage in my opinion tasted very low quality for what you're paying for. - The star of the show was definitely the pastries. I honestly feel like this place had more pastries than actual food. And oh boy, this place definitely does pastries right. (Highly recommend the soft, not too sweet Danishes) What makes a restaurant inviting is walking in to the smell of fresh coffee and having a wider variety of options to choose from. I wish drinks that are offered were more advertised (I didn't even know they served coffee until I was getting ready to leave) and I wish we were given more options based on the amount we're paying for the breakfast buffet. I assume they might've ran out as well (One second I saw fruit and the next , it never came back). Ps. Really wish they served pancakes. And if not maybe fried chicken and waffles would've made more sense. Overall, still 5 stars because I understand this place is still working out their kinks and i really like the vibe of the place. Yet another great addition to finer dining in Middletown. Only opened about a week and working through their first month soft open but service is exceptional and food excellent. A two part review here since I visited for both a happy hour and a dinner. But first, a few observations about the location and layout. Located in the center of Middletown's restaurant row makes this a great location---plenty of parking in front, as well as behind the main entrance. Covered outside seating is plentiful along with extra space for outdoor games. Inside, the farm themed restaurant is true to its name with upscale seating and tables throughout. Even the hightop seating in the bar area has extra plush seating. There is ample seating for those that might be waiting for a table as well as a small "den" with comfortable seating and a fireplace that adds to the ambiance---will be great for those cold weather months! For my happy hour visit I tried their half priced pizza and house cab. The custom garden grove pizza was served with a crispy crust with a pesto base and it was phenomenal---under $10 and $5 house wines made for a great happy hour experience with all the TVs in the bar area. For dinner my wife and I enjoyed a couple of great red wines along with the steak and fries dinner and a steak tip salad. Both cooked to perfection and you will not be disappointed with the serving sizes. Dinners were accompanied by a complimentary serving of their made from scratch cornbread served in its own iron skillet ---came with creamy butter and sweet syrup....awesome take on cornbread! We finished the dinner with a healthy serving of their white chocolate cheesecake and it did not disappoint---warning, one serving big enough for two! The last few words on this great new dining option in town--- the distinguishing aspect about all the food is its freshness and the establishment truly lives up to a farm to table option that is worth checking out for a finer dining experience in town. read more

Just visited this new restaurant in Middletown that came highly recommended by a few Tik Tokers. The restaurant is beautiful and since its pretty new, very clean. I loved the barn look, especially the huge wooden door when entering. With it being a weekday, there wasnt a crowd and we were seated immediately. The hostess was nice enough to move us from a table to booth. With this place being new, we ordered quite a few things. For apps we got the deviled eggs + wings and for main course we got ribeye steak & the blue crab ravoili. We also had drinks. I had the lavender lychee and the mocktail called summer lovin. The drinks arrived in good timing and was accompanied by a cornbread skillet. The drinks were 10/10. The lavender lychee was sweet but strong as well...perfect combo. The mocktail was also very good. The cornbread was just okay. A little dry and not as well as im used to. However, it comes with a side of butter & syrup which is more than likely for added sweetness. The deviled eggs were just okay...nothing special. But those wings....cooked to perfection! We had the hot honey old bay flavor and it was so good. 10/10 would for sure recommend. My hubby got the ribeye cooked medium well & I got the blue crab ravioli. However, we shared. The steak was good and tender, but I wasnt too crazy about the gravy on top. The A1 sauce saved it lol. The ravioli was good too. For dessert, I couldnt leave without trying the bread pudding. When I say it was AMAZING, I mean it. It was literally my favorite thing we tried. Now, the best part of our visit was the customer service. Our waiter Nick was top notch. His personality was so big and he had us laughing the entire time. He was so attentive and informative. We really enjoyed ourselves at the Farmhouse in Middletown. The atmosphere is really nice. There are quite a few options for where you can sit: the bar, main dining, private seating room for parties, and some sofas in a small intimate sitting area. And the food was delicious. Hope, was our server. She was friendly, and she made sure to check on us, she seems to enjoy her job, which is great! Jordan was wonderful to talk to as well. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the plaid walls, lighting, and bar area create a really nice atmosphere. We waited about 20 minutes on a Friday around 7:30 and were seated at a high-top right in front of the musician, which was a fun touch. Our server, Allison, was bubbly and attentive. Due to the sodas being canned. We started with the Snozzberry mocktail, which I'd only recommend if you really like ginger beer, because that was definitely the main flavor. The French onion soup had a great amount of cheese and the cracked black pepper on top was so good, but it was unfortunately very salty, as if it had been cooked down for too long . The complimentary cornbread was a nice surprise. The maple-bourbon sauce and honey butter we requested were definitely the highlights! The honey butter did not come with the cornbread but definitely should as they complimented each other well! For our entrée, we had the short rib with green beans instead of the vegetables. The short rib was tender, but did not have much flavor, the garlicky green beans were probably my favorite part of the meal. The polenta was just okay, although the portion underneath the green beans was much better. Overall, Farmhouse is a cute spot with a beautiful atmosphere and good service, but the food didn't really wow me. I was so happy to be invited to the soft opening of this new restaurant! As I approached the grand brown wooden doors, I was greeted by a tall, spacious lobby with amazing decor. Stepping through the second set of doors, I was warmly welcomed by the hostesses at the front desk. The inside of the restaurant has an elegant yet rustic feel, and the table settings were beautifully arranged. My waitress, Brook, was quick to bring me my strawberry iced tea, which was delicious. For an appetizer, I ordered barnyard bites, which were served very quickly and hot. My main course was the short rib melt with all their farmhouse sides, including a pickle and fries. I was missing my pickle, but that's okay because I don't like them anyway, but the fries were delicious. The service was amazing and exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be back to this restaurant. I hope the managers continue to visit the tables and greet everyone. I really enjoyed the personal touch that many restaurants miss. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with a smile and someone opening the door for you. We had a reservation and were sat very promptly at a table where you could get a good view of the incredible decor and homey -with a touch of elegance- atmosphere. Our server was great and very informative of the dishes and specials. I enjoyed the salmon dish and actually finished every bite (which is rare for me). My partner absolutely devoured the lamb and cant stop talking about it! The manager, Kristina, came to make sure everything was to our liking and just made the whole experience that much better. This was our first time there. The deviled eggs were a hard pass, the yolk was way too blended, taste was odd and they love their chives. We had the ham steak which was very good but sides were just sides. Also tried the BLT sandwich which again was not as good as it sounded. The last detail I want everyone to know is they charge for soda refills, something I would mention if I was a server and offered a refill. They had a live guitarist playing, he was really good. Five Family members had Dinner at this restaurant on Thursday, August 13th. We understood it was still a soft opening, lots of training going on etc. The Food is absolutely fantastic! From the appetizers, soups, salads and entrees, the flavors and choices of food were delish. The best, freshest cheeseburger I have ever had in a restaurant. Another Family member said the ribeye was so tender and the best sauce on it, along with the potatoes. The service was very good for a brand new waitress. Manager did not check to ask how the experience was, although he did seem to talk to most of the tables nearby.
