I am very impressed by this place. I came here twice. And I have to say, besides the dinner of the burger fries, rice deviled eggs. I personally love the breakfast a lot better. The chicken and waffles was amazing. And as for the BlackBerry French toast, oh my gosh, I was in so much heaven. Went to Feed Sack for happy hour The appetizer offering made me sad Server thought happy hour ended at 5 but it actually ends at 6. By the time he found out it was 6 and we missed it. The service was excellent, ambiance good, food unacceptable. We ordered the sirloin steak and they were cooked to order but were so tuff that we could not eat them. My wife borrowed my knife thinking her knife was dull. The manager was very nice and apologized and said that sirloin was a cheaper meat but he sold around one hundred per night. We drove over 20 miles passing 30 good restaurants to dine at the Feed Sack. Do not order the steak if you ever go here. Not a good experience for us. read more

Food, customer service and ambience were all amazing. We had lavender lemon which great, bourbon cranberry smash which was underwhelming. We had fish and chips which was amazing and hot and fresh. We had the 8 oz sirloin, mash and asparagus subbed salad for corn chowder soup (+3) we had pimento cheese grits all of the above was amazing and very seasoned. The asparagus lacked seasoning but was very tender. We had the crown flight basically 4 shots of crown we don't have to have that again. We added a coke to finish those off. The cheesecake was a good size but very basic. It wasn't anything that stood out. Great experience and would definitely eat here again. My steak plate and sides did come out room temp. After looking at the menus online decided to grab dinner with bestie here. Located in a plaza which is bonus for parking situation. Enjoyed the ambiance of the place. Plenty of space inside. Started with cocktails had the cranberry bourbon sour and tasted the lavender cocktail and crown flight. For entree decided to get the fish and chips, Fries were well seasoned and the fish was fried perfectly. Fish was massive couldn't finish in one sitting as was saving room for dessert. Bestie had the steak it was flavorful. Had to send first one back due to being over cooked but waitress took care of it immediately. We were staying in Augusta and made plans to meet friends who live nearby somewhere for lunch. I selected this place because the reviews and ratings were pretty good. It was a good decision. We made a reservation for five people and when we arrived a big table was already set up and waiting for us. The ambiance is nice with a darker color theme and plenty of horse pictures. The menu is big with plenty of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. I opted for the fried chicken salad and it was really good with a lot of big and tasty pieces of fried chicken. My husband had the fried fish sandwich and it was also big and delicious. Another member of our party had the lemon pepper chicken wings. I have found myself at the Feed Sack twice and both times I have not ordered Mediterranean food. I understand this is the bulk of their menu and overall focus, but I come here for the new Southern dishes. My trips included fried chicken and lima beans and mac n cheese. Also fish and chips (fries) with bread pudding (strawberries and cream) for dessert. One time was for lunch, another was for dinner. And both times were exceptional! The ambiance of the place is top notch. The team treat you like you're the most important patron in the place. The food and drinks please the eye and the palate. I wish I had visited more before leaving the area. I will truly miss this place. So learn from me and go as soon and as frequently as you can! read more

We visited at 6:30 PM on New Year's Eve. While we expected a holiday crowd, the service was unfortunately poor. We waited 20 minutes to be seated and another 30 minutes just to get water. Our waiter mumbled so much we could barely understand him, and he was largely inattentive--at one point asking only one person for a refill before disappearing. I ordered the chicken tenders with fries. The chicken was cooked well but not a ton of flavor. The fries were pretty good. However, we waited around an hour and fifteen minutes for our food to come out, which was pretty rough. We were a party of seven, so I can understand some extra wait, but the place wasn't particularly busy and it seemed adequately staffed. The service was alright. The restaurant was pretty nice inside. The rest of my party ordered sirloins, shrimp, fish/chips, etc. and I think the food was relatively well-enjoyed, but I don't anticipate us returning very often. read more

The Feed Sack was a wonderful spot to catch up with friends and their kids. We got a table of five for lunch on a Sunday, and everything went well. Our server, Megan was a pleasure, she brought over drinks quickly and took care of the kids order first. We got wings, a chicken sandwich, and a fish sandwich all of which were perfectly prepared. Service was fast, but we never felt rushed throughout the meal. Pricing came in at below $20 per person all in, including drinks, tip and tacks. Chef - A bisque is a puree, salmon should not be cold, and I don't know whether to tell you to get a microwave or get rid if it. Tastes on point. Plating fair. Temperatures not good. But....theres's always a but,,,I sat at the bar and the service was atrocious. I'm a 25% tipper and I did not tip. That's how bad it is. You know, when you feel guilty, but it was so bad you just couldn't. It was slow. Maybe too slow because the bartenders were more concerned with everything but service. Look, if in N. Six months ago I wrote a review saying I would never go back. While, I was drawn in by the commercial about new management. The service had definitely improved, both host and server were 5 stars this time instead of 1. Drinks were very good, however, the kitchen stills needs help. The appetizers went down, and one was totally forgotten ( taken off the bill). The pork bellies are now served in a tinny tiny bowl with the tinny tinniest pieces of pork. The mac and cheese was good, but the beef stroganoff begged the question "Where's the beef." What I got was mashed potatoes swimming in mushroom gravy with a few pieces if beef. So about 2 weeks ago, we decided to stop for lunch, especially because we have seen the ads stating new management (although couldn't imagine why). It was somewhere around 12:30 or so. There were numerous tables available and we were told it would be around 20 minutes to wait. We saw the bar was empty and said we didn't mind eating at the bar, and was told e couldn't. From what I could gather, your staff was managing the flow of customers as one of your staff was having a meltdown and was overwhelmed. Needless to say, the wait time was ridiculous for an empty restaurant. We left and ate elsewhere. I'm sure you changed management for a good reason, but the replacement staff couldn't have done worse for you. Not sure we'll even try again. read more

Service was a little slow and had to keep reminding the server but she's likely new so forgivable. She was nice and always respectful. The drink I got was really refreshing...got the spicy melon martini and it hit the spot for me. Went with friends during happy hour so prices were discounted for appetizers and those started out wonderfully with pork belly bites which were nice and caramelized with spicy pickled okra on the side. Deviled eggs were good...fairly plain but I typically like mine that way. Crispy Brussels were pretty yummy with candied pecans sprinkled throughout and balsamic glaze that cut through the flavors in a pleasant way. Ambience was nice. It was dark inside and you wouldn't feel like you were in a restaurant in a shopping plaza. I was brave enough after drinks and appetizers to try the boneless beef short rib and that's where it went downhill. It was so salty that I was thankful for the whipped potatoes to scarf diwn. Now I'm a girl who loves salt (like I add salt to McDonalds fries level salt) so when I say it was salty it was almost inedible. My friends tried it and agreed but figured I would mix it up with some of the collards and potatoes to see if I can balance out the saltiness...probably should have just sent it back. By that point some of the food was already gone and didn't want to look like that person that eats the food then sends it back. My friends got fries and they were salty too; couldn't finish them. After that I didn't want to try dessert anymore. We did tell the manager coming by that they needed to tone the salt down in the food. God forbid someone get a heart failure exacerbation from this meal! She just said she'll go try the sauce and see if that's the problem but no other fix offered. Its really sad because this is right around the corner from my house and I would have loved being able to eat somewhere close to home or order from when U dint want to cook. I even mentioned trying the steak the next time...but I'll hold out. My blood pressure may not be able to handle this much salt in the future. Hopefully they'll fix this in the future. For now I'll drive out further to eat at places I know I can depend on. read more

Super friendly staff and a great relaxed ambiance. They have several local craft beers. It's great seeing local businesses supporting one another. I had the fish and chips. It came with a side salad made with field greens. The house champagne vinaigrette is amazing. The fish was cooked perfectly and the fries were super crispy. The tartar sauce is delicious as is the vinegar-based coleslaw. This was my first visit and I'm looking forward to bringing friends and family. read more

Wow! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful on the inside, makes for a wonderful ambience. Avery was spot on with service, very nice young man. I was told by so many people that they were expensive, I didn't think so at all. Sandwiches/burgers were the same, if not less, than Whiskey Bar downtown Augusta, with a much better atmosphere. I had the hot honey chicken sandwich with fries and it was phenomenal! and came out rather fast, which was nice. The portions are quite hearty, I could only eat half. We will definitely visit again. Our server was upbeat, really friendly and checked on us frequently even though her assigned tables steadily got busier around us. The drinks were good. I had the smash and it was a great blend. Not too strong. For an appetizer we shared the deviled eggs. My husband liked them more than I did. I like them a bit more seasoned. His prime rib was great but they served the wrong sides originally. I asked for my feed sack burger to be cooked medium and it was well done. Also I ordered avocado and it was not added to the burger. LOVED the fries though. Probably the best fries in the CSRA. The cheesecake was traditional NY cheesecake and very very good. A place with vibes. From the outside it doesn't look like much but go in and you'll find live piano playing in the bar area with couches to sit and enjoy. There is also a dining area that is decorated in rustic eloquence, but this isn't a fancy place. The prices are reasonable like $20-$35 dollar range for an entree. Food is adequate. We loved the wings and the bread pudding dessert tasted almost like pancakes. However it could've used some ice cream or whipped topping. Mine came with neither. My food was a tad salty but boneless short ribs were so tender. So we ate good and our waiter was extremely nice. So with the vibes and good atmosphere this is a must try and one of my new go to spots in the area. I'm going again soon but trying something new maybe then I can give it 5 stars. read more
