Here is my issue: my kid is 3. We are also not rich. I have no idea whether or not she will want to keep dancing after a year of it (or whether we will want her to). A store credit would be fine for committed dancers who go there on a regular basis. However, the $40 credit we now have is at a store we will likely not patronize again (especially now that I can get the same items for half as much at Discount Dance Supply) and could have been better used to help pay for a household bill. And unless I come in and use my credit, they will get twice as much for the things I returned (since I've already paid for them once). Shady. This is a disappointingly bad policy. Maybe come here for shoe fittings but honestly, I would recommend going to discountdance.com for what you need, especially for beginners. When i returned the shoes, Chiappetta claimed I left them in a hot car and that's why they shrunk. I advised Chiappetta they weren't left in a hot car. After sending my reply, plus 3 follow up emails over 3 weeks and not receiving a return reply, I called them. There was no helpfulness or acknowledgement of the issue and they suggested i contact the shoe manufacturer. I rarely have any issues with orders. To be met with no assistance, and no willingness to acknowledge the issue other than there obtuse insistence the shoes were left in a hot car is NOT acceptable. If you have an issue with an order, don't expect support or resolution from this company.
