My wedding at the Fire Garden was about a year ago and I am still hearing from friends about how it was the best wedding they have ever been to - in fact a recent comment of this nature is what inspired me to come write this review. This venue is not only shockingly affordable for Southern California, it is one of the most unique and beautiful places I've ever been to. Plus, I was able to customize every detail - we brought in all our own catering, booze, tables, flowers etc - so it is a great place to achieve a really specific vision. It's such an interesting place because it has a very strong aesthetic, and yet it really takes the shape of whatever style you bring to it. My photos came out incredible and so varied - the place transforms as the light changes. The owners are so flexible and helpful; they were on site the entire time as well as there to accept deliveries etc beforehand (I was coming from out of state and they made it all so easy for me). You can tell how much they love the property and genuinely want to make every experience as amazing as possible. I can't recommend this place more highly. My only regret is that I can't do it again! read more

He gave us a presentation of this very unique and beautiful place. We have been very excited und were looking forward so much to our celebration. What a magical place to host an event. The grounds are perfectly set up to host large parties and the one I attended was in full swing when I arrived. There's safe street parking, it's farm/residential, and some parking on site, gated to keep things private and lots of different spaces like a dance area, bar, walking paths and lounges. To clarify...Tony...your question about my identity...I made it VERY clear who I am. My first sentence was "My son married the love of his life" so obviously, sir, I am the mother of the groom. And my comments were not some bogus person attempting to ruin your reputation...I was there... Many times from the start to the finish. And my comments were 100 percent accurate and objective. So your professed lack of memory is nothing less than your a upttempt to discredit an honest review of your behavior and business practices. If you don't like what HONEST people are saying perhaps you should change those things in your future arrangements. Your contract even indicates your two hour limit for clean up time. It's hilarious to me to see your feeble attempt to discredit the truth. I can back up what I had to say with no less than 25 witnesses. Exactly how professional is it to tell the mother of the bride that nobody likes her, that they were talking behind her back, that her new son in law said the same thing about her, and attempt to cause drama? Not too professional nor kind....all over a cleaning deposit that you, sir, did NOT, earn the right to withhold from her. Learn from your mistakes and treat your future clients with more respect and dignity! And stay sober during the events on your property. Adjust the time, as needed, for clean up...especially after large events. Let the DJ do his job. Hire a security guard who will take in consideration the families and their needs. And keep what you earn, sir, and check your conscience about the rest. You will prevent alot of hurt, anger, and reviews that paint a picture of the true story...even if it's not the story that you choose for people to hear. read more

Pure Magic. The twisting canopy of trees filled with red pomegranates, the flickering candles and blazing campfire-sculptures, the pillow-filled domes, couches, and sparkle of laser fairy-lights... Once I saw this venue I knew there would be no other as unique and magic. The fire garden is a treasure and perfect for anyone who wants their event to be a little different, and a lot of awesome. I've had friends who held their magical wedding there with raves from all who attended and were involved. Perfect. We took one step into The Fire Garden and knew it was the perfect venue for our March wedding. This was exactly what we were looking for....we wanted a backyard feel, but still special enough to host a wedding. The owner has created an amazing escape with the perfect balance of his collection of rustic finds while still providing a blank slate for you to create the event that is exactly what you want. The fire sculptures and colorful lights make the garden really come to life when the sun goes down. Our guests could not say enough about how amazing the venue was and how much fun they were having exploring the property. So many cool little spaces for people to linger and chat, including an outdoor living room, and even a canopy bed! There is a seperate space for the ceremony and reception area, so you can have the whole event all in one space but it feels like you have moved to different rooms. The best part was that we didn't have to leave to take photos, we just walked around the property and took advantage of the lush landscaping and art. Another bonus - you can bring your own caterer and alcohol!! And, there is already a built in bar which is amazing! I can't say enough about how amazing and unique this property is. You have to go and visit to see for yourself. And the owner is so gracious and easy to work with. Thank you for your reply Tony. We never questioned that you have a nice property. However, your business practices during the last days of our interaction with you were unethical. You told us that the parking would be controlled and it was not. You told us that passes would be honored and they were not. You told us that names would be checked on the master guest list and they were not. These were not unfortunate oversights. Our family had checked and double checked with you and despite your reassurances, these things were simply neglected. Over 20 witnesses say the place was spotless. The same amount of people heard me ask you several times to do a final walkthrough with me which you refused. Large property or not, I was willing to do a detailed and thorough walkthrough together and you denied that opportunity. Therefore, I have no way of confirming that the damages you indicated days after the event were legitimate or even ours. A walkthrough should be done WITH your client, not by yourself. I have been around active duty Marines for 30 years as my husband is a retired Marine. If your security guard was a Marine, and I truly don't think he was, he failed completely at listening to our requests. It is not my concern that it was his first day. He did not do his job and/or you did not train him properly and that came to be a huge consequence for our guests. The check was cancelled because you refused to do the walk-through with the us and that made us highly suspicious. You decided you could just cash the check before any discussion with us and before the time period legally required when we can make corrections. You tried to charge us for time although we asked numerous times for the gates to remain open for deliveries and set up. You refused because you didn't want your dogs getting out. There was a pick up attempt on Sunday but you did not answer the gate. I appreciate that you will consider changing some of your policies. But in the interim, we are still quite upset that our disabled and elderly family members had to park along a very busy street because you did not adequately train your staff and that our immediate family members who had passes could not park within the gate. We got married here June of 2010 and it was such an amazing venue. Very natural, beautiful sculptures and I love Tony's fire creations. We had the best wedding. To this day everyone still talks about how much fun they had. We were on a budget and we were able to stick to it with this venue. We were able to bring our own caterers, bartenders and alcohol so that really helped out. We always get asked if we can renew our vows and do everything the same, that's how much fun everyone had. I heard about this venue from a coworker and it sounded magical and right up my now husband and my alley! This was the only venue we checked out and we said yes immediately! The appeal for us was that we could bring everything in ourselves. We were able to have an open bar all night since we purchased all the alcohol. We hired 2 bartenders for 200 people. Tony, the owner, recommended a caterer that turned out to be amazing! (Patagonia Catering) We didn't have to do much in regards to decorations because the venue had it all from sculptures that lit on fire, to beautiful plants around the property, to fire pits all around to keep our guests warm! It has only been a couple days since our nuptials, but I have heard only great things about the venue and property since. I assume we will continue to hear great things for years to come! Choosing the perfter wedding venue can be stressful, and when i was helping my aunt plan her wedding we spent a lot of time comparing many venues. Eventually my aunt chose the fire garden to host her special day, and We are all so happy she did. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and feels magical. The price was extremely reasonable, the location was conveniant....but most of all it was The owner, Tony, who really made our wedding planning experience perfect. He made sure everything went smoothly when the vendors arrived, he helped set up, he directed our friends and family, he went above and beyond to make sure our experience at the fire garden went smoothly and beautifully. After attending a beautiful wedding at the equisite Fire Garden, I hosted a weekend retreat for 75 women and the event was off the charts. Tony and Tri are incredible hosts and Tony was very respectful of the women's event we were hosting. They were super helpful and the space was immaculate for us when we arrived. It's a gorgeous outdoor space and if it's what you want, it can be absolutely magical. It is in the desertous San Diego North County and so it's dusty and rugged, with a lot of lovely books and spaces useful for many things. At night, it is lit up with beautiful fire sculptures that create a sexy, moody, fiery, delightful environment. Tony helped us get all the resources we needed, making recommendations for food trucks, hotels, water, etc. Because it is removed, some of those details need to be handled, and for us, it worked out very well. This is a great space for a wedding, a retreat, a party or any other gathering you want a beautiful outdoor space for. And there's room for a fair amount of campers if you want to go that route. I'd have to say the Fire Garden was about the most neat and unique wedding venue/event venue I've seen in the whole of the county. Nothing quite compares to it. The owner was just about the sweetest guy to meet and I loved seeing all creations scattered about the property. I got the feeling on our tour that they were really flexible (within reason) for planning an event here and the cost was really decent for an outdoor event with such a unique atmosphere. I do agree its a challenge to find this spot (the turn into the driveway comes up quickly) so I do suggest seeing the place in advance to figure out how guests would be able attend. But once you are in the gates to the property there is nice sizable lot to park cars in (or even to park a few RVs if that's your thing). I'd say the Fire Garden isn't for the usual princess wedding couple. It has the beautiful artistic flare, sort of a mix between bohemian, eclectic, hippie, trippy, funky, fairy, moroccan/worldly style to it. The property has amazing places to just chill and hang secluded among the canopies of trees, foliage and arbors....lots of places to hang. The Fire Garden would make for a very unique party event. And I can only imagine what a "trip" it would be and how magical it would be at night. So it's perfect for the couple that is a bit bohemian, artsy, crafty, hippy, eclectic themselves...it's right up your alley. About the only drawback (well maybe not much of a drawback for many outdoorsy types I guess - ha!) is that you don't have real plumbing and toilets, just port-a-potties...so just something to keep in mind. The owner does live on site but seemed to be very chill about the possibilities there. And I loved see what creations he makes into awesome pyrotechnic and artistic displays of up-cycled items. I may have to commission him for some awesome backyard fire pit or something neat once we get a new home...love the work he has done. I love that he has basically opened his home and has his eclectic works on display for others to enjoy at their special event. Fire Garden is truly a special place and if looking for a special place you should definitely put fire garden on your list of "to check out". It's worth the drive. read more
