We had our welcome party dinner at the Woodshed, as we were looking for a large space that would be able to host roughly 100 people. The Woodshed ended up being an awesome space for it and we couldn't recommend it enough. First off, Anndrea was a pleasure to work with. She toured the venue with us, answering all of our questions the day of and afterwards. She was quick to respond and very friendly throughout the entire time. Shoutout to Tiffany as well, who was able to help us out on the day of the event, and helped to bar tend. The venue itself is also such a fun space, with fun accents, such as the live plant wall and the fun tap handles. We created a Spotify playlist that we were able to play using the venue speakers, and we even used the projector screen that they had to play our Nintendo Switch games during the welcome party. Street parking was plentiful and our guests ended up loving the venue as well. We would highly recommend the Woodshed for anyone looking for a fun space to host a gathering or party! read more

The venue itself is beautiful and has so many unique features, such as a live plant wall, chalk wall, and opportunities to utilize both the inside and outside for the ceremony and reception. I recently had my wedding at The Wood Shed and over all it was a GREAT night! The venue is really unique and a great backdrop for photos etc. Being a budget conscious bride it's a great option. You are essentially renting out the space and have the flexibility to bring in your own food and book all your own vendors. But you are truly just renting out the space. You do have bartenders for the evening but that is pretty much it in terms of venue support. The bartenders were GREAT but it would have been helpful to have a little more venue support with set-up. I had a lot of questions and no one was really around to answer them. Lastly, it could be from all the live plants, but myself and several of my guest were eaten alive by mosquitoes!!!! I'm almost kinda mortified that is a take away from some of my guests! You can tell this is clearly an issue that the venue knows about but they don't mention it at all!! The minute I stumbled upon pictures of The Wood Shed, I knew it was the place my husband and I were going to get married. We made arrangements to go see the location a few weeks later, but my curious parents, who were vacationing in the area, just stopped by to have a beer and check it out. Kris at Booze Brothers was so incredibly accommodating, and gave them a tour of the venue even though they showed up unannounced. We made it down to tour the venue a few weeks later, and it was perfect! It is so relaxed and hip, the perfect place to throw the "best party ever", exactly what we were looking for. From the beginning, the communication with Alyssa was amazing, and she was always just a text away happy to help us out and answer any questions we had. On the day of, the venue was spotless and ready for us. The tables and chairs were set up perfectly, ready for my coordinator to come in and finish set up. Throughout the event Alyssa was amazing, as was the rest of the staff. They handled our large group of overzealous Aussie wedding guests with ease, and were so kind and professional, even when cleaning up broken glass from the dance floor. Our wedding day had a few snafus, like when the DJ drove to Pasadena instead of Vista, but The Wood Shed was equip with microphones, speakers, and an iPad that we were able to access our DJ's wedding playlist for us online until she made it. The Wood Shed saved the day!!! Though we live up in LA County, we stop at Booze Brothers every time we are down in Vista / SD. The people are great, and the beer is fantastic! We had the best day, at the best venue, and we wish we could get married there over and over and over again!!!! We can't recommend The Wood Shed, and the Booze Brothers team enough! read more

I can't believe it took me this long to write a review! My wife and I got married in November of 2018, we didn't exactly know what we were looking for, but the moment we walked in, we knew. It is so cute, charming, not to mention affordable. This place is perfect. The gorgeous wood wall and living wall is so unique. We were able to have the freedom to make it our own, by hiring the vendors we really wanted to work with. Alyssa responded so quickly and took all the guesswork out of everything, she is so fun and sweet and helped make our special day so much more special. It felt like working with a best friend. We are so happy we chose The Woodshed. Would recommend this place over and over again, you will not regret it. I wish we could have another wedding to relive it all again. My husband and I got married at the Wood Shed Venue last month and where can I begin - we loved every part of working with the Wood Shed and how it shaped our beautiful wedding! We wanted a venue where we could source all of our vendors ourselves + we only wanted beer & wine available as alcoholic options for our guests. The Wood Shed ticked off those boxes plus so much more! The venue itself is so incredibly spacious and GORGEOUS inside. There are tables & chairs already included and the beer & wine lists are insanely big. At our wedding we had 7 different beers and 7 wine options for our guests! Working with Kristina, the Venue Coordinator, was so easy! Any questions we had - whether it was 1 or 10, she answered quickly and with the info we needed. For the reception, we opened up the outside deck to include corn hole and beer pong which was a huge hit along with the dance floor we had inside! This was the wedding of our dreams and we cannot recommend the Wood Shed enough for a couple who wants to source their own vendors and have their special day set in a modern, brewery, type of venue. read more

We got married here in March 2023 and had a great wedding! 5 stars for the venue, atmosphere, price and flexibility. Loved having so many great beer and wine options at the bar and that this piece is provided by the venue. Having the ceremony and reception in the same place was a goal of ours so this venue worked perfectly. I'd describe the atmosphere as modern, industrial with a rustic vibe - an upscale brewery! we used florals and décor to add a more romantic feel. This venue is definitely for your nontraditional couple which is exactly what we were looking for. The price is reasonable especially considering that furniture rentals (tables and chairs) plus a partial bar tab are included in the price. I loved that you can bring whatever outside vendor your choose. Our guests loved the different atmosphere and it makes for a great laid back, party vibe if that's the style you're looking for your special day. I am leaving 3 stars for the process of working with the venue and venue Coordinator - Kristina. The communication from the very first time we visited was less than excellent. It genuinely felt like we were inconveniencing her by reaching out or asking questions. You want your wedding to feel special and each time I communicated with her, it felt like I was bothering her. She came across unenthused, uninterested, and was difficult to get a hold of. A week before the wedding, she simply stopped responding. It took 5 days to get a simple response.. so close to the wedding date, this was stressful and disappointing. I dreaded having to reach out for a question. We really loved having our wedding here, but working with the Kristina was by far the worst part of the experience. Leading up to our wedding, I was really curious how it all might unfold since the communication was so vague. Another odd thing is that besides the bartender - there's not staff that are present during your wedding. Meaning that general monitoring of the event isn't done by anyone at the venue. it would have been helpful to understand this so that when it comes to keep the bathrooms clean or just general monitoring the space, you're on your own! Definitely get a day of coordinator - you'll need one! I would recommend having your wedding here, its a great option especially in the San Diego market but I hope they will improve your customer service experience or bring on someone that is more passionate/excited about events/weddings, working with people and can make the experience special. After tirelessly looking for a wedding venue my husband and I found the Wood Shed. We were the first to get married in the new Wood Shed location which opened in 2017. I cannot express how happy we were and still are that we got married there. We still talk about how our wedding was the best day! Everything was absolutely perfect. My wife and I were supposed to get married here in September 2020, but due to COVID we could not have our wedding. Since we were set up on an auto pay system recommended by the staff, they pulled a payment from our accounts even though they were closed for business with no idea of when they would open. We chose to get married anyway, but they would not give us a refund, they offered a postponement. Therefor we postponed to September 2021. We just had our reception at the venue and the staff was very rude. None of them had smiles, it almost seemed as if it was such a burden for them to grab us and our guests the beer we paid for. This is a very "do it yourself" venue. We had 1 hour of clean up time and the staff was very pushy about it and was practically taking beers out of people's hands. They shut our music off at 8:59 because our event ended at 9. They wouldn't even let us play clean up music lol. Seems like all they care about at this company is money and not their customers. Really sucks because it is a beautiful space. Also no AC so prepare to sweat. read more

We went to look at this venue in late 2019/ early 2020 with the hopes of a march 2020 booking. It was obviously short notice and we were met with nothing short of understanding and accommodating. In the end we did not end up booking for march for various reasons, but will definitely be booking in the future (post covid). I'm having a hard time seeing all of these negative reviews about this place after visiting it. We talked to two different people and had great communication and loved the honest upfront information. My husband and I got married here fall of 2019. It was the best day of our lives. We had excellent communication with Alyssa and the venue, the beers were great, they were accommodating to guests and really made sure the whole day went off with our a hitch. The venue it's self is stunning. From the plant wall, to the geometric industrial feel. The indoor outdoor door space was the perfect set up for a dance party and cocktail space. Please note we got married here in 2019. I read some of the reviews about deposits etc and handling of weddings in our new 2020 covid world. I feel for both parties, as a small business owner and someone who has worked in the wedding industry. I can't imagine there was going to be a winning situation with the given situation of our world. My main purpose in writing this review is to let people know, in a post covid world, the woodshed would be an amazing venue to have a wedding at. The space is open and airy and the vendors can be set up outdoors, which I would imagine would be a perk for future weddings. Other people's experiences during a global pandemic should not dictate your future wedding. Look at the venue, talk to the coordinator and make the decision for your self. It was the best day of our lives and we still talk about our wedding and this venue. I can't say enough about how amazing our party was at the woodshed! This space is gorgeous and the people are so freakin amazing. Alyssa helped me get started by sharing her superior network of dope people which led me to my amazing planner, our caterer, and just the best night! She even ended up being one of our bartenders! They have AMAZING beer and we were so thrilled with the selection for our big day. The woodshed was so accommodating for our planning and on day of. We were able to use their whole space for photos, the whole day was ours, no rushing. It was fabulous. It is gorgeous, Alyssa and her team go above a beyond to support you through the whole process, and our guests still rave about it. We had only viewed one other venue before booking with The Wood Shed and never looked back! Alyssa so kindly gave us a tour of the venue and was so accommodating and helpful as we picked vendors and decided how we'd like to set everything up. She was quick to respond to my (many) emails in our planning and happily supported every request. We loved that she and the owners happily served the beer and wine that night and were available to help whenever we needed! More than anything, our photos show just how gorgeous this venue is. We loved that we really didn't need to bring in a whole lot more because they've already decorated the venue better than we could ever imagine! We also loved the outdoor space and for our wedding in October it was the perfect combo of outside and inside. They suggested some food vendors and we absolutely loved their recommendation. I'm sad to see all the negative reviews on here. I had my wedding at The Woodshed in July 2018 and it was the best time! Alyssa was super easy to contact and laid everything out for us. On the day of the wedding I found out I was pregnant and Alyssa went and got alcohol free beer and Martinelli's apple cider for me to make sure everyone at the wedding didn't find out I was pregnant. She really went above and beyond and was so fun and pleasant. I hope more people have their wedding here because the place is not only beautiful, but the staff is awesome! We went to a friend's wedding here and we were very disappointed in the venue and service. The wait staff were very rude and unwilling to service us after 8:30pm. This wasn't a good venue to bring the bride and groom as they were denied service and the staff denied service to anyone in the wedding which was all of the wedding party. This place has some of the most self centered pieces of shit I have talked to. They cancelled my wedding a week before. They also didn't email me or anything I had to call and double check if the wedding was still going on. On top of that I had explained I needed a refund because we were financially impacted by covid and needed to pay our bills. The owner ignored my messages and then refused to give me a refund. The Wood Shed is such a great venue! I do catering at tons of weddings and visit tons of venues, so when I arrived for a good friend's wedding I was blown away...in a good way! Wedding venues all start to look the same after a while and the staff is usually just there to earn a paycheck, but this place is different. It has such a unique vibe and they let the wedding party decorate how they would like, so it really suits the couple. The staff is incredibly kind and you can tell they care about every guest. They have this amazing flavoured sparkling water on tap that I swear I still think about! To top it all off, the lighting is perfect so every photo taken looks amazing. read more

Our wedding reception at the Wood Shed was perfect! This space is a gorgeous mix of indoor and outdoor space, and industrial mixed with modern, and ALL the plants! The wood work and detailing in the space is beautiful, the lighting is pretty, and it's an open, airy, light filled space. Alyssa, Kris, and the whole team at Wood Shed were wonderful to work with during the planning process. From layouts, to set up, to answering all of our questions thoroughly and promptly, it made our wedding planning a lot less stressful, and we felt like we were in good hands the whole time. We loved that we were able to use their projector set up to play a photo slideshow during the event, and we had a friend come in to draw a mural on their chalk wall. Bringing in our own catering, some rented furniture (Wood Shed supplied the tables), a photo booth, and other vendors all went smoothly the day of. We had about 100 guests attend, which fit well in the space with Wood Shed's tables and chairs. Our guests had a great time, and raved about their beer and drink selection. They had a Strawberry Wheat Ale (exclusive to the Wood Shed) that was a particular favorite. The staff was also particularly accommodating, and overall we are so happy with how everything turned out. I cannot say enough good things about The Wood Shed! We chose The Wood Shed as our wedding venue because of our love of good beer, the fact that it is incredibly beautiful, and because of the wonderful staff who helped us throughout our wedding planning process. We worked with Alyssa and she was wonderful! She sent us a preferred vender list from which we were able to find our caterer, our desserts, and some of our tables rentals. The staff was flexible with us setting up a bit earlier than originally scheduled (just because it worked out with the venue's schedule). They already have a sound system hooked up with an iPad, so we chose not to hire a DJ and instead just played Spotify playlists we made. Went off without a hitch! All our guests loved the look of the venue and we barely had to decorate since the venue itself is its own decoration. And needless to say the beer was amazing! read more

The venue is unique and absolutely stunning, however I am a bit hesitant regarding the way things are managed. I was supposed to have my wedding here in May of 2020; however, due to COVID, plans were indefinitely postponed. I learned the hard way. I paid the rest of the payment fourth months before the wedding date, which is not normal protocol. There is really no arguing that as all of my other vendors, as well as my other five friends who got married around the same time, told me that wasn't normal! Professionals I confided in told me that as well. This has been a learning experience for me and I just genuinely want people to beware of this situation in case something were to ever happen like this again. If the rest of the money would have been due a month out, I wouldn't have gone through this issue. It was my bad that I did not realize that this was faulty on the company's behalf. Buyer beware, unless you aren't worried about finances then just keep this in mind. My review is not to bash the Wood Shed, but this whole situation has definitely tainted my perspective. Again, truly lovely venue and it would have been delightful to wed there, but I was not about to postpone my marriage until Lord knows when. read more

If it was possible to give zero stars, I would take this one away. Had a wedding planned here and then COVID19 hit. It became very obvious we would not be able to plan anything as none of our vendors could make commitments.We reached out about cancelling the event. WOOD SHED KEPT EVERY SINGLE DEPOSIT FROM EVENTS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID19. Every other vendor refunded our money. I've had multiple people contact me via social media comments who all say the same thing. WOODSHED DOES NOT CARE ABOUT COVID19 AND WILL KEEP YOUR MONEY EVEN IF YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR WEDDING. Just got married at the woodshed venue last week, and it was such a dream! It was so beautiful and I wish I could do it all again. Alyssa was extremely responsive throughout our six month engagement. We planned from Washington so as you can imagine it was not the easiest, but Alyssa was always there to answer questions or give advice and she made the whole thing go so smoothly. This venue is beauitful and everything! However me and my fiancé made a deposit a year in advance before the pandemic not know how it would affect us financially. We cancelled our wedding because we live out of state could not afford to pay for our wedding anymore because of covid. They did not accommodate to that situation. On top of that I have been trying to confirm our cancellation and haven't heard anything back for the owner. This is very rude and unprofessional. They let go of all your employees and have been closed since March when the lock down first started. Very selfish for them to keep all your customers money and not accommodating to the National disaster of covid-19. read more
