    The Bomber burger with salad.
    Deb F.

Was craving a burger and searched for a place we hadn't been to before and discovered this hidden gem! Tucked into an unassuming strip mall, Fireside Grill is a 21-only bar that makes a fantastic burger! I got a "Bomber" which has Gorgonzola and grilled onions. So good! You can get a 1/4lb or 1/2lb burger. Service was awesome. Our server was friendly and the kitchen cooked those burgers up super quick. The "fire" is on a TV screen and the place is a bit divey in its decor but it's clean and well-kept and I'll be back for more!

    The fireside with house chips.

Pros: Neat and clean dining area. Food was good and portion size was good. Good service. Cons: A bit pricey.

Stopped in while the kiddo was at a bday party. No minors Nice little bar. Has outside seating - maybe, no chairs were up but they were stacked- Staff is friendly. Food was so good! They make their own chips, sweet potato and Yukon. They are hands down the best I have ever had! They offer GF bread for the sandwiches. They had a good drink menu too

Higher gem...Located inside a strip mall but absolutely a diamond in the rough!!! Very unassuming spot with basic dive bar vibes but amazing friendly staff and delicious food!!! Highly recommend the burgers and especially the bid in pork chop!!! Don't sleep on the heavy handed cocktails!

The Shorty Burger, pork chop, & tomato basil soup

Flew back into town super late and was searching for a restaurant that was still open... Found this hidden gem that was open until 1AM! We tried the shorty burger, pork chop & tomato basil soup. I can confidently say that this was the best pork chop that I've ever had. Soft & cooked to perfection paired with sautéed vegetables & potatoes. Incredible dish! My husband enjoyed his burger that was paired with chips and a delicious dipping sauce. The tomato basil soup was delicious as well! The server was super friendly and attentive. Overall, I'm so glad to have found this spot. Definitely am looking forward to our next visit!

    Little The Bourbon Burger

I have heard about these burgers for a while now. Finally got a chance to try it. I was out with my brother in law and we chose this for fourth meal. I got the small bourbon burger. Very tasty toppings super messy. Stuff kind of has one note. I wasn't too impressed. He got the fireside burger and was kind enough to share. It's a yummy one of those everything on it burger. However we see the sauce. I assumed it was horseradish or something so I wanted no part of it. But a little taste reveals this is cheese sauce. Whoa. This makes is burger next level. Even more of a mess than the bourbon but now it has everything with the cheese sauce. Definitely a top burger in the area. The chips are fun. I think I preferred the regular to the sweet potato. Some of them got burned and it was a little bitter.

    Lil' shorty + salad

All I have to say is YES. Small divey vibe and soundtrack to match, extensive rotating beer list, burgers are TOP. I got the lil' shorty + side salad with Gorgonzola dressing and my man got the whiskey burger + the butternut & pumpkin soup. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Everything was elevated and fresh- I will be back . If you want a good burger and beer- this is it. Shout out to our servers, they were awesome as well.

I was not impressed. The food was average, more expensive than it was worth. The Rock was so much better, sad to see them go.

I always have great service at the Fireside. Drinks are priced well and the food is good too. The Gorgonzola cream is Da'Bomb!

Concerning that I found 3 different types of plastic in my soup about a year ago and haven't been back since. Experience was mediocre.

If you only hit one craft cocktail bar on your visit to Portland, make it this one…read more Wax Social is a speakeasy and vinyl listening lounge tucked inside a Best Western in the West Hills.. and I mean that in the best way possible. Super moody lighting, hundreds of framed musician photos covering every wall, warm comfortable seating, and a custom hi-fi sound system that will rearrange your expectations for what a speakeasy bar and listening lounge can be. It's a hidden gem in the most literal sense: no signage on the outside and nothing to tip you off as you enter the building. To find Wax Social you walk through the hotel lobby at 9900 SW Canyon Rd, up a staircase left of the registration desk, and look around until you find a frosted glass door marked "Listening Lounge." Open it. You'll be glad you did. Start with the cocktails. The menu is split between elevated timeless classics and original house creations, and both sections of this cocktail menu can bang. The King of Pain is rum-forward and finished with an orange coconut foam that looks as good as it tastes. The Watermelon Man showcases Japanese gin and elderflower in a refreshing and complex profile that's hard not to love. The Sweetest Taboo is a mezcal drink built around blue maize, red bell pepper, pineapple, and lime that hits that rare combination of bold and perfectly balanced. Light My Fire brings blanco tequila and Ancho Reyes together with habanero bitters for real depth. If you want to wander off-menu, they can handle that flawlessly too. Over several visits I've enjoyed a Paper Plane, Tommy's Margarita, Gimlet, Last Word, Too Soon, and others, all executed perfectly. On one visit, the guy next to me at the bar was visiting Portland from Sweden and ordered a Flip. I've been to a lot of craft cocktail bars and never heard someone order one. Clayton, one of the bartenders, didn't blink. Went right to work making a luxurious Flip from memory that the customer couldn't stop raving about. I was impressed. Clayton is also working on several rum-forward cocktails coming to the menu later this summer - I love rum drinks enough to say that sitting at the bar talking shop and the concepts he's tinkering with is worth a visit on its own. Full mocktail lineup, plus wine, bubbles, and craft beers. Now about the sound system. DJs spin all-vinyl sets of funk, soul, R&B, and deep cuts across decades on a custom hi-fi setup that sounds absolutely incredible. Even when the DJ is in full flow and the music is turned up, you can still hold an easy conversation with a group of six or eight people. I've been there with a large group in the back corner on couches and comfortable chairs and everyone kept commenting on it. The music is present and powerful and somehow never swallows the laughter and conversation happening around you. They clearly built this bar around the music. The food is a genuine surprise for a craft cocktail lounge. Think small plates/tapas in terms of dining style: you come for the drinks and next thing you know you've ordered half the menu, made a dinner of it, and somehow backed into a beautiful evening of food, drink, and music. Must-orders: ahi poke nachos, deviled eggs, braised pork gnocchi. Don't overlook the shaved asparagus and white bean salad with sherry vinaigrette, Manchego, and crispy shallots. Simple and elegant and every bit as good as the more indulgent plates. Steak bites and shrimp are worth ordering too. Bring friends so you can order more and share. Owners Sean and Travis are present most nights, greeting you at the door and checking in at your table. That care shows in everything here, including a staff that knows how to read the room. A few things worth knowing: parking is easy, the location is simple to reach from Portland or Beaverton, and the bathrooms are spotless. Open late on weekends. Whether you're planning a romantic date night in Portland, a special occasion, a group night out, or just a solo evening at the bar with someone who really knows cocktails, this is your spot. Among the best craft cocktail and listening lounge experiences in the greater Portland metro area. You've gotta check it out.

Each time, I spoke with the owner to make a reservation, and the process was incredibly easy and accommodating. The food, drinks, and service were excellent on both visits. For such a small place with a tiny kitchen, they absolutely crush it! The bar was packed each time, yet everything came out beautifully and the staff handled it all so well. The atmosphere is such a vibe. there's always a great DJ, making it perfect for either a date night or a girls night out. The menu is made up of smaller plates, which makes it so much fun to order a variety of dishes and share with the table. The menu was a little different each time I visited, and honestly, there wasn't a single thing I didn't enjoy. The drinks are SO good, and everything is beautifully plated. The service deserves a special shoutout as well! We had the same server both times (woman with pixie), and she was an absolute doll. I will be back soon!

one of the few bars in the downtown beaverton area that opens for late night drinks and food!…read more while i personally am not entirely a fan of the food selection and menu that they have, the place is still a stellar choice when you are out of local options. plenty of comfy seating and tables (both indoor and outdoor), friendly bartenders, and ample selections. i wasnt feeling to hungry when i popped in, so i opted for a side caesar salad and added avocado. the avocado was superb, ripened to perfection and presented beautifully.

I was raving…read moreabout it for weeks after my trip because of the beer selection and smashburger quality and price. I was super excited to visit this one a few years later, and sure enough the beer selection was still amazing, and though it did cost more than last time, the food pricing was still pretty good. Unfortunately where it feel short was the food execution. The food took about 45 minutes to come out, and some of the items came a bit staggered. The corn dog spent too much time in the fryer and came out pretty crisp, not the shade you want to see your corndog. The Super smashburger we ordered didn't actually have smashburger patties, just regular, and then the Mcloyal that was ordered did have smashburger patties. So it wasn't a case of these don't seem like smashburgers, since we were able to compare the two. It was a Thursday night of a holiday weekend and it was pretty crowded, so the kitchen fell behind, not sure if it's always like that here. It's still a cool spot, they've got plenty of seating inside and out, all sorts of beers, and a full bar with a good cocktail menu. They're also kid and animal friendly, at least earlier in day/evening.
