I just love this place. We have been here a half a dozen times or more and the food, service, atmosphere is so consistent. Regarding atmosphere, it's kind of biker chic. It's an unpretentious joint that appeals to those who want to hang at the bar and watch sports and to those who just want an amazing burger or salad. The food is terrific. We have done soups, salads, and burgers here and have never been disappointed. They use high quality ingredients and know how to prepare a meal. The servers here are incredibly friendly (but not in an obnoxious way) and get your order in and delivered swiftly. Fantastic! First time patron. Great experience. I had the Vesuvius Burger with sweet potato chips and I was very impressed. I think Westgate makes one of the best burgers you'll find in Beaverton. My Fireside Grill burger was in the same neighborhood as Westgate's. What I thought set The Fireside Grill apart was the service. I was greeted by three employees before I was seated (within seconds of entry) and had a quick friendly conversation with the bar man. Our waiter was attentive, friendly and open to some chat without making the conversation about her. She gave me and my friend room to chat without disturbing us and made us feel welcome to stay. We loved it here. The food is sooooo yummy!! My husband ordered the fireside burger with clam chowder. The burgers are cooked on the pink side which is perfect for us but be aware in case it's not your thing. Also, they won't serve ketchup unless you ask for it (mentions on the menu about it). The burgers are delicious and you don't need it but my husband is a ketchup guy so to him it just adds to the deliciousness. I ordered the steakside wrap. Strips is steak cooked perfectly with grilled onions and pepper wrapped in a tomato tortilla . The only con was the service after our food was delivered. We were greeted by a friendly server who took our order and delivered our food but then we never saw her again. So my husband never got the ketchup and our drinks were never refilled ‍. Came here for lunch last week. Nice crowd and atmosphere. The service was pretty good. The food was okay nothing too special. Ordered a medium burger and got well done temp. I understand if my burger isn't good I should send it back, but if I do that during 45-min lunch, it wouldn't work. We came back for happy hour a few days later and they still have a great atmosphere and the caprese cheese was on point along with their chips. A very mixed experience coming here for our first time we obviously checked out yelp and Google which had some saw the reviews so with that being said we decided to give this place a shot! Let me first start off by saying the chicken sandwich was excellent!!!! And we also enjoyed the brownie that came with an ice cream that we didn't really factor in so that was actually good too but their vegan burger I would steer very clear from!! As my girlfriend opened up her burger she noticed that the patty itself was all crumbled up. She took a couple of bites and said it was the grossest thing that she's ever had and she's had many vegan patties and maybe only one time in the 3 years of trying vegan patties has it come crumbled up. So it was definitely also a messy experience as she was trying to put all the crumbles all back into the burger to have those couple of bites. But that's all she had was a couple of bites because she couldn't eat anymore of it because it was seriously gross from her perspective. I actually had to share my sandwich with her. I do remember when we placed the order that the lady was saying that those vegan patties can be put on any of the burgers so who knows if it would probably take better on a different burger but the one she ordered was a waste of money. Normally only have burgers we have fries but this place doesn't make fries and makes house made chips which we obviously give it a try I was definitely not a big fan of the blue cheese dipping that came with these chips but that's not to say somebody else would enjoy this and I definitely give it a shot at least we include a couple photos to show how messy her burger came as she opened up the package to the right of the photo is all the crumbly parts of the vegan patty. There was a lot to like about this bar, it's slightly hidden location off the main road, it's friendly staff, the speed of service, the food quality, even the playlist in the background sounded like it was straight from my own music collection. I really enjoyed my dinner here. Service was excellent, quick and as attentive as I needed. I'm not a needy patron. Food was almost too quick which is not something I normally complain about but I think order to appetizer was les than 5 minutes. Granted it was a salad, so easy enough to throw together but the second I put my fork down, my entree arrived! I had one of the burgers because they looked great on the website. I love the fact they had a spicy option and I went for the "big" Vesuvius burger. It came with home made potato chips which were excellent. The burger was perfectly cooked and I loved the spice level. Only downside was the bun disintegrating and once it did, all those flavors that were originally mashed together ended up on the plate and just not the same! Beer list looked good but I didn't try any because everything came so quickly by the time I was ready to order a beer I was also ready to leave. Price was very good. $25 for big salad and a good size burger. I was happy with that. Why a 4 then and not a 5? I wasn't blown away when I first walked in. The bar seating was mostly empty in favor of the tables, probably because the bar is so close to the kitchen you would smell like one of the cooks when you leave which is never fun for me. This also meant it was pretty brightly lit at the bar and I felt this really changed the atmosphere. I know it's a personal preference but there is something to be said for the atmosphere the dark / low light creates. That harsh white light makes it feel more clinical. This along with the food coming so quickly, you almost felt like they wanted you in and out, no lingering. I'd give them another shot for sure. I'm sure on a Friday with a group of friends this place is a blast. read more

On a dreary Saturday morning, brunch at Fireside hit the spot. Our server was lovely and attentive,sweetly singing along with Amy Winehouse, our food was hot and tasty, the coffee is GOOD, and the prices weren't bad. The tab was $22.50 for breakfast and coffee for two people plus tip. Many if not most breakfast items were $9. The breakfast wrap ,while a bit compact,tasted good and came with a spicy "chipotle chutney." Dining companion added in some additional veggies for no charge. My scrambled eggs and housemade sausage patty breakfast was just right. The sauage had a particularly good flavor, fennel I think. The fried potatoes were a touch oversalted but a little ketchup ( either housemade or that Portland Ketchup- but definitely not Heinz corn syrup ketchup) took care of that. There is tv with a fireplace on, which I found humorous rather than tacky, and soccer on other tvs. I read an appealing and extensive cocktail list. I also watched a mimosa being made and I can tell you the ratio was more champagne than juice. No minors. This explains why Ive not been before. I think it's a solid four. We were looking for a restaurant near our new home and this one popped up with good reviews. We walked in and it was on the dive side. That's not a deal breaker, but there weren't any tables available either, so we walked down the way to the BBQ restaurant a few doors down and it was even more divey and smelled of smoke. Back to The Fireside Grill we went. By that time, a table had opened up and we took it. We were quite amused by the names of the drinks. My husband had a Whiskey Tin and I had the Balsamic Pineapple and it was delicious. The server was down to earth and enjoyable. We shared the big Fireside Burger and it was delicious...the potato chips were perfect too and I loved the bleu cheese sauce. Needless to say, we will be back. I honestly don't know what the hype is about. Worst food we've had in a long time. Maybe its bc we don't drink? Maybe the food tastes better when you're drunk? There was no less than a cup of oil on the bottom of my pasta. Disgusting. I literally poured out the oil hoping to salvage my pasta. No luck. Husband's $16 chicken was bland af. You can't tell by looking at it from the outside because it's so unassuming, but this place makes the absolute BEST burgers in the state, and I wanna say one of the best burgers my mouth has ever feasted on. I've been here a couple times now and it has yet to disappoint. It's one of those places I'll always order the same thing every time I come: a Fireside burger medium rare with a fried egg (it's already topped with tomato, lettuce, onion, cured ham, bacon, signature sauce, and 2 types of housemade cheese topped on a parmesan brioche bun). It's the most glorious burger ever. I remember the first time I ate this, I floated for 5 hours on the river having not had any breakfast. By the time my grubby hands got on this masterpiece, I literally downed it in 2 minutes. My other 2 friends hadn't even touched their burger yet or took their first bite and I was licking my chops as though it were my last meal. It tasted so good, like a church choir in my mouth and angels were playing the harp. It's $16 and includes a side of chips, sweet chips, cup of soup, or house salad. Get a lot of napkins because this thing will be dripping down your arm. I really really wish I could give 5 stars, but I just can't! The service was so so so bad. Our food took nearly an hour to arrive, no joke, we sat down at about 1:30, ordered in about 10 minutes and didn't get our food till 2:30. Not to mention our waiter seemed to just forget about us, my water sat unfilled for so long the ice had pretty much melted. The reason it doesn't get less than 4 stars is because the food was delicious! One of the best salads I've ever had. The Gorgonzola dressing was amazing and the chicken was perfectly cooked. Not to mention the very flavorful clam chowder! Everyone loved their meal, which made waiting an hour for it slightly more acceptable, but still not. My friend's sister-in-law suggested this place for dinner. Glad she did. The decor isn't much to look at and I'd even say lacking in most cases, but the food and drink make up for it. The staff too. Our server was very energetic, friendly, and right on things all night. I started with the Fucking Fantastic. They don't tell you what's in it other than raspberry but the drink is titled correctly. For dinner I had the rib eye. It was perfectly cooked and a good sized portion. The potatoes were delicious. My second cocktail was a porch swing. Also tasty. As one of his cocktails, my friend got the balsamic pineapple. I had a sip and it was interesting. He said it was too large of a cocktail for that style of flavour profile. The server explained the drink as the owner wanting to use balsamic vinegar in a drink, so that's what it ended up as. read more

Good burger but the Gluten-free bun was very dry. These type of burgers are hard to come by and tasted good otherwise--the dryness was just surprising. That's not usually a common problem w/g-free food. They're also out of the gluten free buns pretty regularly and their gluten free replacement bread is good but crumbly so it doesn't work well with burgers. I had a bite of their chicken strips and they were amazing! First time eating in was on NYE (all other times were takeout) and the service was really slow. I'm not sure if our waiter, TJ, was having a bad day but he was pretty short and not interested in serving us. He never asked if we wanted anything to drink, was super annoyed when it took my spouse longer than a minute to order food because they were out of what we originally wanted. I had to ask for salt and ketchup, I did want desert as we ordered a small meal, but I never got that chance and I was nervous to ask him after he had already given us the check because I didn't want to upset him, which honestly, I shouldn't have to worry about . His customer service really really sucked lol leave that stuff at home buddy, there's a time and place and working with people in this type of setting, is not it. Wow! This place was amazing, I was anticipating a 'lil hole-in-the-wall bar & grill type place, but this surpassed my expectations. The beer-tap list had plenty of options to chose from, and the food was very high quality, and there was plenty of suggestions. I actually ordered one thing, and then changed my mind and ordered a different thing last minute--- cuz I was having trouble deciding!! And, it's nice to have multiple options as a vegetarian to chose from on the menu besides the classic "GardernBurger". I really appreciate the options. Considering the location of this place, it is really premium, there are not a lot of great places like this in the area.
