    Grilled Marinated Prawns
    Angela P.

I came here for a meeting with some vendors, and wow--these folks know how to pick a restaurant! We started with two appetizers: the Grilled Marinated Prawns and the Savory Goat Cheese Torte. The prawns were covered in a delicious harissa sauce and cooked to perfection--honestly, they might be the best prawns I've ever had. I loved them so much that when I ordered my gnocchi and was asked if I wanted to add a protein, I got excited at the thought of having those amazing prawns again--and that's exactly what I got. No regrets! My only minor disappointment was the crostini served with the goat cheese torte--it was so hard, I could barely bite into it. If you'd like to keep your dental work intact, I recommend doing what we did: ask for softer bread. Our server happily obliged, and the whole table agreed it was a much better pairing. Overall, fantastic food and a great experience. Highly recommend!

Some dishes are really good and others are just average. Drinks are typically pretty good. Parking can be hard depending on time of day/night. Service is relatively slow and some times not the best.

The rye bread with mushrooms was the star of the show. As someone generally averse to mushrooms (dinner guest my man writing), this dish was downright pleasant. Back to me, Yelp Elite here, the ambiance inside Tavern on Kruse is shocking for the busyness of the area, it's hip, easy and a good place to relax. Unique light fixtures and many rainbow liquor bottles elevate the space. The bartender was our server she was kind and working hard at the Monday bar. Food: the Caesar salad is serviceable, the focaccia croutons tasty, the hangar steak with a blueberry Demi-glaze is tasty but we craved a bit of salt. It came with a lovely potato pavè. Texture dream. Again the rye bread is fanatic with shrooms galore. The Mac n cheese was truffle oil forward, we finished it but it was disappointing. All in all we liked this restaurant and the vibe and will come back- hopefully to try the ravioli.

Came here for a work dinner and was really impressed overall. The staff were really accommodating and understanding when our reservation for 10 became only 5. They sat us at our main table early for drinks while waiting to see who will show up. The wine was great and the food was delicious. We tried the Brussels sprouts and goat cheese torte appetizers and I decided to go pescatarian and have the salmon because it just sounded so good. It did not disappoint. We shared some of the espresso mousse but I was not prepared for the embedded espresso beans. Those kept me up! Overall, great restaurant in LO/Tualatin area. I only wish I found it sooner!

My friend and I shared a lovely lunch here. The classy atmosphere and the delicious food will be brining me back here. The service wasn't anything to rave about, but wasn't bad either. My friend had the beet salad and I devoured the Seared Ahi Salade Nicoise. The tuna was seared to perfection and the ingredients were fresh and delicious.

    Patio seating

Located in Lake Oswego, right off Kruse Way, this tavern has ample patio seating with umbrellas as well as indoor seating. Parking is a bit tough as the parking lot is shared by too many other restaurants but we were able to eventually find something. There is no street parking so be warned. The receptionist asked us if we had reservations, but we were walk-ins. She seemed a bit scattered and disoriented as she was trying to figure out if they had any outside seating which they had plenty of. We came for happy hour so I expected tables to be fuller even after we sat down but it really wasn't. Our waitress, Kerri (sorry if I spelled this wrong) was excellent. In fact one the best waitresses I've had in awhile. She sat us down, got us water immediately and cane back shortly while we decided what we wanted off the happy hour menu. This is a place with happy hour food and drinks which I love. I ordered the pork belly tacos and garlic rosemary fries, but asked about the cider which she recommended and she was right. Not too sweet and not too dry. My partner ordered a Fire in the Sky mocktail. I love that they have so many alcoholic and no-alcoholic drink options. Really, just a great happy hour menu. Kerri came and checked on us several times throughout the process and even allowed us to sit a bit after we were done eating. The fries were well season and delicious and not overcooked or burnt but perfectly crispy. The pork belly tacos, unfortunately, were boring and bland and the pork lacked any flavor. The kimchi helped but it wasn't enough. The cream sauce they used made the tacos sweet. I'm usually ok with fusion tacos, but this was just not good. I cannot recommend the pork belly tacos. This doesn't mean I wouldn't come back, but I think they have a good menu and good service, but I won't get that dish again. I did see someone there with ribeye bites and fries and that looked great so maybe that next time.

A great space with an inside eatery and a great patio area. However don't think that you're just going to walk in... it is constantly full and I recommend making reservations. It was a beautiful day to sit outside soak up some wonderful fresh air enjoy a drink or two (non alcoholic for me) and listen to the live music they had here. The service was good the, food was great and the vibe awesome! I had the muscles... they were in a garlic butter sauce that was great for dipping the bread in. The portion was not big and it was a good thing we had ordered some aps or I would have still been hungry. In the end this was a fun spot for dinner, drinks, and conversation.

Very unique place. The food is amazing and the service is very good too. I ordered lunch special, hungry steak. It is very delicious!

OK, so the fries were not as crispy as we'd like but that's not a dealbreaker. The space is great, the upstairs is nice and woody and warm, with a patio overlooking the street giving it a Euro vibe.

The bartender (a more mature fellow) was casually talking to someone, not serving him - standing in the restaurant talking. No one acknowledged we were there - or they would come back in a min. There were obviously plenty of people working a gal was putting candles on tables etc - we waited TEN mins to even have someone come over and give us a menu. The bartender seemed irritated at my question of did they have a pinot gris in the happy hour menu. "no, only chardonnay". And, when I asked for a taste - also seemed to irritate him. The food is great here - that is without question, which is why we went. And, it didn't disappoint. However - receiving the bill - there is a weird ADDED $1.25 for a "Hosting Fee"... Hosting Fee??? what the heck is thattttt. (if you google it will tell you that it's for 'helping the employees' basically) What? Then, I had gotten a regular non-premium martini. It says in menu Well Drinks are $8. A regular martini is just their well vodka and should be that. The charge for the martini was $12.00! Never going back - the service was lously. They are padding their prices and I can get much better treatment (and pours) at Five Spice or Tucci!

We were visiting family in the area and had two people in our group local to the area who had been there several times in the past. We first went and checked in and were told there was a 10-15 minute wait. The hostess was very kind, took our number and sent us to the upstairs bar to wait for a table. We were greeted by a friendly bartender who took our drink orders (cocktails and wine) and we enjoyed our beverages while chatting by the bar. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with large velvet green booths, all new, updated and well done. The drinks were all great. The downstairs hostess came upstairs to let us know our table was ready, and we paid and went downstairs. So far, we were all really happy with our experience. The prices of the drinks were all around $15-20+ but we were all okay with it given the good service (thus far), high end atmosphere, etc. There were people in there but it was a pretty mellow Saturday evening. We were given a nice large area to sit and thanked the hostess. The waitress came and was clearly a little overwhelmed but took our drink orders. I mentioned a drink my husband had upstairs and asked if I could have it, but was told they had a different menu down here and I needed to order from that menu. I looked it over while the others ordered their drinks, and when she came back to me, I asked if I could go upstairs to order the drink I wanted, and bring it down. She said sure. I put in an order for a couple food items with her, and she left. My brother in law kindly offered to go upstairs and order the drink and was gone for quite a long time. We learned that when he was upstairs, he went to the bar and mentioned I wanted a drink from his bar. The bartender's mood shifted and he said he had 10 drinks ahead of my BIL, and asked him to go downstairs to order. My BIL informed him he was told the downstairs bar didn't have the ingredients, and was sent up here. The bartender was annoyed and asked my BIL to go downstairs for 10 minutes and come back again to order. My BIL replied that he was happy to wait at the bar instead and took a seat. After a long while, the bartender curtly said that my BIL would have to pay for the drink up here, which my BIL of course agreed to. My BIL said it was very uncomfortable and the bartender was being rude (a couple sitting at the bar also mentioned this). We are guessing he was overwhelmed and didn't handle it well. He brought the drink downstairs, no problem. We were all sitting for a while and noticed that my BIL never received the beer he ordered from the waitress downstairs. And after about 45 minutes I asked about the food I had ordered (she hadn't checked in with us at all during that time, and I should mention it was not busy at all - several tables open). The waitress said she forgot to put it in. That was it. No offer to quickly put it in, no offer to comp a drink, no real apology. We asked for the bill and split it between two cards. When we got the receipts and cards back, my husband found they had given both him and his brother (the other payer) copies of my husband's receipt-so he assumed he was double charged. He went to the front to bring this to their attention and explained how he was upset by the poor service throughout the evening. He received a quick response that they had printed the receipt twice (didn't charge twice) and were short staffed that evening. We are all understanding people and my sister in law ran restaurants for years, we all had food service jobs and are sympathetic but really just disappointed in this place. I'm writing this review because the employees there just didn't seem to care about the issues we raised. They had an acoustic artist playing that evening who was phenomenal. If you go there on a different day with different staff, I'm sure you'd have a great time. But for the price and ambiance, we really expected better service.

They were halved and sauteed. I was thinking fried. The server must have heard me saying this because she came over and told me she could have them fried. I thought the leaves would have been cut and then fried, but they just fried them halved. The salad was good, but it was way too much for me to eat. The ginger ale was also good.
