Came here on a recommendation from friends. A very modern spot. I loved the snarky menu along with the signs for the bathroom. My friend recommended the pesto pasta, so thats what I went with. We also got the cheesecurd appetizer. The cheesecurds were nice & crispy. I really like the sauce it came with. My pasta came & at first glance it looked like Caesar salad. The pesto had good flavor,perfectly paired with the rotisserie chicken. The onions & artichokes gave it a good crunch. The portion was big, so I had enough for lunch the next day. However, 2 hours early the staff shut down the small dining area. Leaving customers packed into an uncozy space. The staff looked stressed and was overtly short on words. Thankfully our waitress was a one off. The food was cold and the old fashion was pretty awful (despite requesting my bourbon by name). On our tulip farm trip, we unexpectedly stopped by The Westgate at 09:00 PM and were impressed! Right at the entrance to your right there's a bottle shop with an outstanding selection of spirits & better yet, for a $3 fee, you can enjoy your pick with your dinner. The service stood out just as much and was kind, polite, attentive, and lightning fast. Laura Y. made our experience memorable with her professionalism and genuinely positive, spot on attitude. The space has a classy feel with brick walls and dim lighting (which sometimes made it hard to see the details of your dish). There's also a separate hall with three pool tables if you're looking for a more private setting. The food menu is short and well made, featuring a range "we liked" dishes like the Wagyu burger, the Farmboy salad, and Rick Reuben sandwich, where each was sliced and shared. As for the drinks, the menu is the kind you actually sit and explore for a while, so you better know what you want. It took my husband a bit to look through all of the offerings. My husband ordered the Wagh Burger for his entree. I wanted steak so I picked the ribeye. The food didn't take long and it was presented nicely. My steak wasn't impressive and the seasonal veggie was a bit underwhelming. The garlic mash was incredible. My husband said his burger was great. They cooked it to his preferred medium rare perfectly. The fries and aioli were also great. I'd recommend coming here for the amazing sandwiches and burgers over the other entrees. There is a an area at the front where you can buy different beers and ciders. There was about a 40 minute wait on a Sat night during holiday season. The food and drinks are worth the wait. We were celebrating my husband's birthday with our friends. We enjoyed a couple rounds of tasty cocktails and some delicious appetizers ( sweet pita gnocchi and cheese curds) before we ordered the main event. Hubbs ordered the clam and chorizo pasta and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the huge pork chop with parsnip puree and it was delicious. I have plenty of leftovers for another day. I love me some fries. After ordering, the food came to our table of 4 pretty quickly. Pretty decent portion for the price. I demolished 1/2 the burger and ate all the fries with honey mustard. Food was served on a big plate, neatly presented, and our server was great. He checked in with us from time to time and kept our water refilled. The place had good ambience for a chill, low-key Saturday night for friends who hadn't seen each other in months. I do love their open kitchen concept, where you can "see" the chefs. Cute place. This place is large with a good amount of seating. There is a pool room that is sectioned off. There are parking. The menu has a huge selection of drinks and a decent selection of food. I took a star off because my burger patty was raw. The thin outer layer where it touched the grill was cooked but the rest was literally raw. Everyone at my table agreed that the patty looked pretty bad. I should have said something ASAP. I picked at it and didn't really eat it. When the waitress took my plate I told her and she said they usually do it more on the raw side and will cook it up more as requested. I kicked things off with the cocktail, "His Name Is Robert Paulson," which was indeed spicy as promised! For appetizers, we got the "Sweet Potato Gnocchi," which had fantastic flavor (though slightly dense/gummy in my opinion), and the "Cheese Curds," which never fail to satisfy. Dinner was the incredibly flavorful "Clam and Chorizo Pasta"--make sure to grab some bread to sop up all that delicious sauce! We finished by sharing the "Hazelnut Brown Butter Cake," which I loved, though it got mixed reviews from the rest of the table. We stopped in a couple weeks ago and snuggled up to the bar. Convo with the bartender led us to fantastic drinks, and our food was terrific. We got Brussels to start and they had a tiny bit too much glaze on them for my liking but the flavors were perfect and we didn't even finish the appetizer size cause it was big! I got the Walk of Shame sandwich and it was delicious, the bread was giving me Thanksgiving dressing vibes which is exactly what I expected from reading the menu. Dined in on a Saturday night and overall experience was great. Ordered the sweet potato gnocchi, shrimp carbonara and shrimp risotto and all tasted exceptionally great. The shrimp on both dishes was very fresh, cooked to perfection, and had a satisfying snap and flavor to them. The sweet potato gnocchi also tasted great, though personally was a tad bit on the sweet side for my liking. They also have a very expansive brew and liquor selection. I got a flight with the draft beers and I enjoyed the unique flavors of each beer. I also tried a cocktail which also tasted great as well. A friend suggested this place to me but I thought it was just a tasting room. A small one - like the one next to Matador in NW. Weeks later, my boyfriend says we are going here for dinner. For dinner, we shared the sweet potato gnocchi and Caribbean chicken (with black beans, mango and herbed rice). Both were DELICIOUS!! Our server, a blonde woman who reminded me of Adele (the singer). She worked the front dining area on the evening of August 1st - was great! She was knowledgeable about the menu, professional and had a very friendly demeanor. We stopped to take photo's in their front house beer & wine shop on our way out - which was lovely (one doesn't usually use the word lovely in the same sentence as beer and wine shop, but it was). Amazing place! This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. I got the Keymaster sandwich and it was so delicious! I would ask for it extra toasted next time. I got a side of pickled peppers to add to it and asked for the mustard aioli instead of the pesto aioli. The highlight of the meal was the Rueben. It was the best Rueben I have ever had! And the fries were amazing and the dip they serve with it! Honestly, some of the best fries I have ever had! I l ordered a margarita and it was the real deal! A wonderfully overwhelming sight when you walk in because you step into a wonderland that has a massive fully stocked bar, a bottle shop room (that lets you purchase & drink bottles while you're there), a comfy waiting area, a pool/shuffle board room & a big dining area with plenty of tables. The decor is beautiful! It's sleek, classy, & the vibe of the whole establishment is chill & laid back, but upscale & classy. This is a great spot for a fun night out or to lounge at. Our server was nice and got our food out to us in a reasonable time. One of my friends and I shared: CLAM AND CHORIZO PASTA: Surprisingly great combination of proteins. We arrived 40 minutes early to make sure we got a seat, standing in the sun in 85° heat, but they didn't open the doors until exactly 5 PM. It would've been nice if they had at least let us wait inside with the AC. Once inside, despite being among the first to arrive, we were the eighth group asked for our order, and people who came as late as 5 PM were served before us. The food at Westgate Bourbon was excellent! By far the best Blue Cheese Burger I have ever eaten. My son had the Ribeye which was cooked perfectly, son-in-law order the Carbonara with Shrimp and raved about it, husband ordered the Clams and although he liked them said that it was a confusing dish and that he would not suggest it. Service on the other hand was atrocious! Son and daughter-in-law arrived first and had a drink, when the three of us arrived we were greeted politely and shown to our table. 40 minutes and several requests later we got water. Eventually a waiter come to take our ordered, we decided to skip drinks before dinner drinks and ordered our meals. Meals came, no refill of water, no "how's it going folks". This place is the end of the rainbow for bourbon drinkers. Literally they hit the mother load here. Really they have gone all out to have the widest selection of alcohol overall. If you are looking to experiment, try something new, try something rare, enjoy a sip, or whatever... here you have it! It is a large space that was pretty much packed from the time we arrive until we left. Not much open seating. I suggest making reservations. The atmosphere is rich with decadence and liquid joy. Oh yes they have food... and not just bar food... they have REAL food made up with thought and planning. It is hard to concentrate on food options when there is this kind of a full line of libations in front of you but honestly I was quite pleased by the choices on the menu and then the flavors on the plants. The staff was swarmed, but did a great job of keeping up. We never wanted for anything long and they had great suggestions to help guide us along. I really like this venue. Well, another restaurant to review this place was very interesting with so many choices for wine and alcoholic beverages. The food was over the top and large portions. I had to take half of mine home and the desserts were delicious too, and somehow one candle found its way onto my ice cream. The service was impeccable and the menu comments were interesting. The ambience we were able to talk to one another and be heard and that's always a plus. This place has been here for a very long time. I think it was a steak house before that. It's fairly handy for me and I've stopped in for a brew and a bite now and then over the years. It's in an old mall that was there even before the Beaverton Mall. It's called something else now. Used to be a major mall "back in the day". Food is quite good. Reasonable prices. Very attentive wait staff. I'm not a hard alcohol drinker so a pint of beer does it for me. Or a Corona if I feel like splurging. Plenty of parking. Around the corner on Hall there's a gazillion saloons, pubs, eateries and so on so you can have yourself quite the bar crawl and do very little walking. FINALLY got the chance to visit after hearing so many good things! Ambience here is one of a kind: there is the area to the right when you enter where it's just bottles and bottles of booze in their cooler/fridge (there is "Bourbon" in its restaurant name, after all). Then, when you are seated, you are also presented with rows and rows of more liquor on their shelves in the back. With respect to the food, here's what we got: - Fried Chicken Tit = yes, I said 'tit' (tit tit tit!). I LOVE how unserious this restaurant is with itself. This is also illustrated when you go to the restroom and see an image of a cat on the door for the ladies' restroom and a picture of a rooster on the door of the guys' bathroom. Anyway, this chicken sandwich was moist, tender, and flavorful. Got it with a side of their house salad and lemon thyme vinaigrette salad dressing. Your other choices of sides are regular salad, fries, and a cup of soup. - The 'Chop = in-bone pork chop that was ALSO moist, tender, and flavorful. Comes with veggies like string beans, bell peppers, and mashed potatoes. All of this was delish and very filling. - Bearded Clams = comes with large pieces of garlic toast. I was actually more in love with the garlic, buttery sauce and at the end was scooping it up using empty clam shells (lol). - Bourbon Shrimp = nice large, plump shrimp on top of a garlic toast! There's 5 of them with a splatter of some addicting sauce on the plate. Rich, addicting sauces seem to be a theme here... For drinks, they have a manuscript-length menu so it may feel a little overwhelming. However, since this place is known for bourbon, I got their Whiskey Sour - came with all the nice little touches like cherry, egg white, and large rock of ice. Last shoutout is our server. She was friendly and just so down-to-earth. Definitely elevated the dining experience. They have desserts here such as lava cake and flan, but no way I was able to fit more in...next time! read more
