The staff helped me set up my entire tank and gave me plenty of advice and help while gathering the necessary supplies.

I have a 300 gallon pond. I have been looking for a tricolored butterfly koi fish for over a year…read more I stopped in to get feeder rats and found they had the tricolor I was looking for. When a young gentleman asked if I needed help I told him what I wanted. He said he had to go get someone who was acquainted with this type of fish. A female employee shows up a couple minutes later I tell her excitedly that I wanted the tricolor koi. She starts asking about my fish tanks. I tell her I have a pond it will be going into. She starts to tell me she can't sell me the fish so I ask for a manager. She comes back a couple minutes later with a manager to tell me that it's too cold outside and they can't sell the koi fish. It may be February 1st but it is unseasonably warm at a sunny 56 degrees. Secondly I try to tell them that I have an INDOOR pond which serves as a nursery/hospital tank for any new koi as you should never just add new fish to an established pond without knowing the health of the fish, but she absolutely doesn't want to hear anyone other then what the offended employee had already told her before she even came out to see what I needed. If you don't want to sell certain fish during the colder months then you shouldn't carry them. Secondly. If all you are going to do it hear the employees and NOT the actual customer then why even pretend that you have any sort of customer service. I currently have 3 ponds, 2 outside and 1 inside. None of which is any of their business. I also have a 55 gallon tank that houses a Snowflake eel. This eel has a particular diet. I have shrimp, snails and other small inverts in the tank with and he will not eat them. I have tried brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, silver sides, feeder good fish. He won't eat any of them. But he absolutely loves the black mollies. Yes he's a salt water fish. And if you educated your employees they would know that mollies can, will and do live in salt water. I asked for mollies for my eel and they refused to sell them to me as they aren't allowed to sell any kind of fish as a feeder? But you sell rats to be fed to snakes. You sell tiny gold fish to be fed to other fish? The amount of self righteous ignorance shown by the employees and management in this location is disgusting. I go into this PetCo every 2 weeks to get rats for my snakes and hopefully catch the right person working in aquatics to get the fish for my eel. I will be taking my business to the PetSmart down the street from now on.

There were 3 employees that walked by me, looked at me and didn't ask if i needed any help. Horrible customer service! I finally walked up to one of the female employees and asked her if she can help me with the fish or if she can page someone to help me get some fish. This female employee looked like she got annoyed. Horrible customer service! I walked up to the cashier counter and this female staff name Anna was on her cellphone. I walked up to her to pay for my fish and Anna didn't even greeted and asked if I found everything I was looking for. She rang up my fish incorrectly for $3 each. I told her that these fish cost $2.50. Anna seemed to get annoyed. She ended up fix my transactions. She handed me my receipt and didn't not apologize nor thanked me for shopping at Petco. Horrible customer service! No wonder this store has terrible ratings. Poor management! The store manager needs to train their employees better!

I cannot express how deeply disappointed and heartbroken I am over my experience at CSU Veterinary…read moreTeaching Hospital. I brought my dog, Lupo, there during a medical emergency while we were traveling from North Carolina, and what followed was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. We were already in a state of panic, far from home, trying to make the best decisions we could. Despite that, there was a profound lack of communication, compassion, and transparency throughout his care. We were never offered the option to stay in any rooms, just to rest for a little. Being 45 minutes away while our dog was critically ill created unnecessary distance during the most important moments of his life. The most devastating part is that we were only contacted when things had already taken a severe turn, and that call was not a supportive update, but a frantic, high-pressure conversation where I felt like I was being almost yelled at that he needed to be euthanized immediately. There was no sense of guidance, no compassion just urgency without support. We were not called earlier as he declined, and we were not given a real opportunity to come and be with him in time. Because of this, I lost the chance to have any meaningful final moments with my dog. By the time we were involved, he had been intubated. That was not what I wanted unless it was absolutely necessary as a life-saving measure, and it ultimately robbed me of being able to hold him, comfort him, or say goodbye in a way that had any meaning. That is something I will carry with me forever. When we last saw him, he was placed all the way at the bottom of a cage. It felt impersonal and distressing given how critical his condition was. There was no sense that comfort or dignity in his final moments was being prioritized. To make matters worse, a necropsy (autopsy) was performed without our explicit consent. This was incredibly upsetting and felt like a violation during an already devastating time. The lack of clear communication and consent around something so significant is completely unacceptable. After his passing, the handling of his remains and the lack of communication continued to cause harm. Because of delays and inability to reach anyone, his body was not released to the memorial service we had chosen in time for us to receive his ashes before our flight home. We were forced to extend our stay, rebook flights, and incur additional expenses... all while grieving the loss of our baby. I understand this is a teaching hospital and that not every case has a positive outcome. But communication, compassion, and respect for both the patient and their family should never be optional. At no point did I feel supported, informed, or prioritized as his owner. Lupo was my world. He deserved better. And no family should have to go through what we experienced here. There was no compassion in here. There was only a severe urgency to give us a large bill.

I was told that CSU operates under a "seven‑day open billing consent," meaning my bill could actually increase even after I had already paid and left the facility. This was never explained to me beforehand, and being informed of it only after raising concerns felt both unprofessional and intentionally misleading. The idea that additional charges could be added for up to seven days after my visit caused significant stress and made me feel taken advantage of during an already urgent and emotional situation. I will be submitting a formal complaint with DORA regarding lack of transparency, inconsistent medical information, questionable billing practices, and delayed release of medical records and x‑rays. I will be requesting that this complaint be reviewed by Client Services, the Hospital Administrator, and the Service Chief overseeing my kitten's care.
