I was in a rush when I picked up the takeout order because of expired parking. The snapper meal was pretty food, cost $13.99 as a special or the day but I didn't realize I was charged $12 for a side soup until I got I to the car and ready to drive off.

Uassuming little shop with a couple of seats outdoors in the form of tables and bar style seating. Salmon was recommended when we asked for something good for tacos, and we were very happy we listened. Tacos come as an order of 4 instead of the typical 3. The salmon was very well cooked, pan fried and not dry at all. No slaw or salsa, the salmon sat on some lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes in a flour tortilla. Like other reviewers mentioned, the fish and even the food itself felt very fresh. It was almost like eating a salmon salad. The highlight was definitely the sauce that came with the tacos. Tasted like a miso, soy and sesame dressing, and went really well over the tacos with a bit of lemon.

Solid healthy and well seasoned fish sandwiches. Wish the patio was nicer though. Had the halibut sandwich and it was nice sized and delicious.

Tastes so fresh and so delicious! They have some daily specials. This meal was super light and filling at the same time! Def coming back to try other things on the menu. This was too good.

I'm solely going to base my rating on the fish alone since it's called the fish store. I've been eyeing this place ever since I was a kid but I always thought why would I order fish outside. I'm more of a meat guy when it comes to restaurants asides from sushi, of course. But recently I've been intrigued by the idea of fish sandwiches so I knew this was the place to come to. And there's no doubt, this place really knows what they're doing with their fish. I got a salmon sandwich ($12), it was seasoned a sort of light, mediterranean style. Every piece of salmon was perfectly cooked, sort of medium rare, juicy, not over cooked and well seasoned. As you can see from the photo, the sandwich was overflowing with fish. And I'm sure that they would cook any other fish just as well. But for the sandwich I would say it needs improvement. The sandwich bun is perfect, toasted, light but crispy exterior. But the sandwich lacks a sauce. It feels like it gets kinda dry half way through and I think spring mix is the laziest choice for vegetables in a sandwich and absolutely despise it. Luckily there are other options like tacos, rice etc.

I love Fish! I love Grilled Fish! I love Grouper and I was lucky enough to come to The Fish Store for a late lunch when they have Grouper as the Catch of the Day! Sweet! Grilled Grouper Sandwich ($7.30) tasted so good... so refreshing.... so healthy tasting.........munching munching munching....... Homemade Lemonade ($2.65) can be a tad too sweet, but you can always order it half sweetened.... BTW, I love freshly squeezed lemonade too! I love the small business homey vibe! This place makes me feel like I am in a food stand at a fishing village eating the catch of the day! PS it is a sin to deep fried fresh fish!! On my lucky day, the weather is nice and sunny... I can enjoy my sandwich on the patio.... i would not have come on a rainy day.. where am I going to eat my sandwich?? I am feeling all the love! I will be back for more on another nice sunny day!!!

I can't believe it took me so long to finally try this place, but I sure am glad I did! The Fish Store has been around for a while and they serve quality fish dishes with fresh ingredients (you can actually see the raw fish on ice). If you are in Little Italy and looking for something fast, yet healthy, this is your best option. Most of the other places around here are shawarma/pizza/burrito places. They have a variety of different kinds of fish including some really fancy ones like black cod. For any fish, they grill it fresh to order and you can have it as a sandwich, salad, burrito, or over rice. They don't overseason it, so you can really taste the flavour of the fish. I had the haddock salad ($9.99) and it came over a huge portion of mixed romaine and baby spinach with lots of veggies. In addition to fish, they have soups and cold drinks. Be sure to check out the daily special too! The staff are really friendly. Not much seating area, especially in the winter once the patio is closed, just 2 small tables. Most people get take-out. On a Friday night after work when I went, it was very busy! Seems like there are lots of regulars. There are so many fish & chips places in the city, but for anyone who wants fast fresh fish without all the grease, this place can't be beat! Prices are very reasonable too! I'm a fan! NB: Cash only!

$4.99 fish burger, aka grouper sandwich. amazing.
    Joanne L.

I thought about giving this a 4, but it really does deserve the 5. Were there things that could have been better? Sure. But I got bang for my buck and service was outstanding. I ordered the fish burger, which was $4.99 + tax. It was more a fish sandwich than a burger, given that it was a grouper fillet, and not a patty. I'd rather it as a sandwich. More fish for me! The bun to grouper ratio was decent. There was lettuce, tomato, and processed cheese on my burger as well, which was surprisingly generous of them. To my recollection, there was no sauce, but it didn't need sauce. The grouper was cooked to order, the bun was toasted, and because the bun and grouper were hot, the cheese was melty. The grouper was very juicy, and seasoned just right. It was definitely the star of the show. I'm guessing this is mostly a takeout place. There's one table for two inside, but the store itself is awkwardly shaped and it's difficult to get in and out of if someone else is standing inside. They do have a table or two outside in their tiny patio, but it was raining that day, so I didn't want to eat outside. I was waiting inside, sitting on a stool. When my order was ready, the owner told me to sit, moved a table over for me, and moved a chair from outside in so I could sit inside. It was incredibly kind of him, especially because I said he really didn't have to do that for me. If you like fish sandwiches, this is a great one for a fantastic price. I highly recommend it.

Clam chowder (more like potato soup with some seafood)
    Heather C.

This place was great for a quick bite! Got the clam chowder (this was more like a potato soup with pieces of clam, good, but necessarily a chowder), and perfectly cooked fish in fish tacos with nice sauce pairing (that gave it a very Asian flavour). You get to pick what kind of fish you want in the taco, and it's perfectly cooked. Not the largest portions of fish. Service is prompt, and they provide after-food gum for no fish breath! BRING CASH!

It hits the spot. It's fresh. It's clean. It's fast and good and cheap. Worth trying at least once for all of you who have passed this place multiple times and wondered.

Salmon on rice and grouper on rice (special)
    Jessica M.

The ideal place if you're looking for a light, healthy meal (which can be impossible to find in downtown these days!) I'm so happy to have found this place! Although I'm not the biggest fish fanatic, I may have changed my mind after this meal. Both my boyfriend and I ordered the fish on rice (I ordered wild salmon, and he had the grouper, which was the daily special). We had to get the avocado as well. What really amazed me was the bed of fish behind the cash register that is cooked especially for your order. No frozen fish or that nonsense. The fish came very quickly to our table. My first impression was how nicely the meal was platted and how adorable the colours blended together. It came with a side sauce that looks suspicious but tasted sweet and vinegary and sesame-ey (bomb). The salmon that I had tasted fresh, flavourful but not overpowering. I had a bite of the grouper and it had the smoothest texture! The purple brown rice was an excellent touch as well, something you only find in traditional korean restaurants, but fitted perfectly with the rest of the meal. I must say that other than the asparagus, the other vegetables are completely unseasoned, which is FINE. Just a heads up. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back for the fish tacos and sandwiches.

Takeout fish meal. Includes asparagus now as well.
    Tom S.

I should start by saying that I lived down the street from the Fish Store for 8 years and due to my general lack of desire to eat fish, didn't start eating there until my last 3 years... and that was a huge mistake. I luckily still work down the street and go to the Fish Store at minimum once a week for lunch. Everyone on here seems to love the sandwich or the burrito, but I assure you the fish meal is the greatest thing of all time. The perfectly cooked fish over perfectly cooked brown rice, topped with the amazing sesame fish sauce and a bit of hot sauce is the greatest thing ever. Add to that a slew of different fresh veggies (currently cucumber, broccoli, asparagus, tomato, {avocado +$1.50} and olives) and you've got a fish meal that can't be found anywhere else. For take out, call ahead and by the time you arrive, if it isn't ready, they'll push your order to the front (because they appreciate the call ahead order). Also, don't forget to ask what the special is, because if you aren't that picky on your type of fish, then it'll save you a few bucks. In the summer there is space to eat outside, but otherwise it's really tight to eat inside. Also, in the summer get the lemonade... it's fresh squeezed and delicious. If you fancy a soup, get the butternut squash, it's unreal and somehow they don't use cream to make it. Eat here, you'll never regret it. I now eat fish regularly because of this place. (Also, note that for one week a year they shut down for family vacation... like fully shut down. This place is the definition of family run and they love what they do, so usually in Jan or Feb they close it down for a week of family vacation)

The crudo was among the best I've ever had and the bread came with an assortment of butters, each one addictive. Finished the whole loaf. They also were nice enough to give me one slice of bacon, which I pretty much inhaled. We then ordered the lobster spaghetti and the prime rib, which was as flavorful as any prime rib I've had without the bone. Our server recommended horseradish (a $4 extra charge, which seems petty). I don't think necessary as the meat was so flavorful. The spaghetti was delicious, but so creamy and rich, it was hard to finish. I'd recommend sharing it. Had the kale gratin as a side, which was perfect. Finished off with the chocolate cake which was really good!. We will definitely return!

Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. One thing worth noting is that if you're provided with a menu, not everything listed is available as part of the buffet. Certain seafood dishes and desserts are reserved for à la carte service, which wasn't immediately obvious. The experience started a little inconsistently. Some tables received a welcome drink while others did not, and there didn't appear to be any explanation for the difference. The atmosphere also wasn't quite what I expected. It often felt as though the dining room was geared more toward content creation than enjoying a leisurely meal. Buffet lines became quite long at times as some guests paused to set up ring lights and film multiple shots before moving on. Throughout the afternoon, ring lights remained in use at several tables, and a few groups could be heard repeating their toasts to capture the perfect video. While I understand that's part of the social media culture today, it did take away from what could have been a more relaxed dining experience. As for the food, it was enjoyable but ultimately didn't stand out. Given the restaurant's reputation, I had expected a bit more in terms of quality and freshness. Toronto has no shortage of excellent sushi restaurants, many of which offer a stronger culinary experience in a more relaxed setting. One interaction with the manager also left me a little puzzled. While checking in with our table, he seemed surprised to learn that we were locals, mentioning that most guests he speaks with are visiting from out of town. Considering the restaurant's location beside one of the city's major theatres in the Entertainment District, I wasn't sure why that was unexpected. He then shared that he never leaves the city for anything, which made for an unusual conversation and didn't feel especially relevant to our dining experience. Overall, I can understand why the restaurant appeals to those looking for a lively, social media-friendly outing. For me, however, the focus seemed to lean more toward the atmosphere than the food itself. While I'm glad I gave it a try, I don't think it would be my first choice the next time I'm looking for a sushi buffet

I have been to the Sutton Place hotel many times since I have friends living in the condos there, but this was a first to settle in to this beautiful heritage building dining room and take in the ambiance and vibe. It's a great location being right at the corner of Blue Jays Way and King with a nice view of the streetscape through the large windows, yet set back comfortably from the action outside. The evening in January brought some fluffy lazy snow dropping out of the sky which added to the drama of the view and the added context for our meal extravaganza that was coming for us. Check out my photos for the menu items that we tried, all ordered a la carte and from the menu for January 2026 that I have also included in my review. When each dish arrives, the server describes what it is which is nice. But with a larger table, a typical noisy din on a busy Saturday evening, often diners can't hear or understand what was said. Some of us would appreciate if the servers would slow down, and make sure we heard more clearly what we were in store for with each amazing dish. Otherwise, our service was great! The asians at the table appreciated the tea served in the typical familiar glass teapots when I asked what they wanted to drink, knowing that they were not into beer or cocktails like westerners, or even the other typical non-alcoholic beverages available. That helped make them happy with hanging out for an extended time in the fine dining tradition. We did have to ask for the servers to keep the tea flowing to our table, since that is part of the idea and the shared experience that needed inclusivity. The server explained that the menu was a mediterranean sharing menu, so we felt like we were a family. The free flowing tea dove-tailed nicely with that theme. It was a bit of a learning experience for the Abrielle staff to see that hey, we needed more tea cups and more tea for everyone!! Not just the teetotallers in the group, us beer drinkers want to be included too : ) When we turned down the dessert options it was a nice VIP touch that they brought out a little bite of a matcha mousse sweet at the end which was super tasty!
