THE BIG: Located near the famous St Lawrence Market. This location isn't inside the market but in it's own brick and mortar on the side alley. Indoor/outdoor seating and street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here for a lunch break during a summit I was attending in Toronto. I was excited to see how the lobster rolls held up here since it's close to the northeast. Tons of items on the menu and I ultimately went with the lobster roll and it came with a super juicy lemon wedge and droopy fries. The fries was a bit of a letdown as they were way too oily. The lobster roll also didn't hit as hard. The meat tasted a old and crumbly rather than that fresh stringy lobster meat. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for just a lobster roll combo was around $23 CAD. The lobster roll didn't satisfy my lobster filling. Definitely had better.
Came by on a Friday evening. We ordered 4 different dishes and shared between 4 people. You order inside and then we went outside to sit and they brought the food outside to the patio. We tried the seafood linguine with rose sauce. That was tasty but the linguine was a bit too overcooked and was lukewarm when it came out. We also tried the fried halibut and chips. That was done very well and the fish was fresh and perfectly fried. It also comes with lots of fries. The ahi tuna salad was pretty good as well and very refreshing. The seared tuna po boy was ok overall. A decent overall experience.
Lobster Bisque cravings were satisfied here. We went in during the Christmas Market season and despite it being super busy the service was fast and amazing. Can get a bit cramped in terms of seating.

Whew! My wife is from the UK and she's been missing her fish and chips. Thankfully this place wasn't too far from home so we paid them a visit, and I'm soooo glad we did! She got the fish and chips, and I got myself the salmon sandwich. On my, the food tasted so nice. The fries were crispy and soft at the same time, and the salmon was well seasoned. I had a few bites of my wife's fish and chips and it was fantastic! The ambiance is a little dark inside, but definitely very cute. I'd recommend this place to all.
This restaurant is in the Scotia plaza concourse. The fish on the swordfish sandwich was incredibly fresh. For $16.99 it was a great takeout option to compete with a sit down restaurant where this type of food would usually be offered. The service was friendly and patient. You can add two sides for $3.99. I found the colds law was great but the pasta salad wasn't to my personal taste. Overall I was impressed and I will be back here for lunch!
Came here on a nice sunny Tuesday for a casual work lunch with a colleague. I debated on whether to get the fried or grill halibut. I decided to go healthy and ordered grill halibut with salad. I was surprised on how generous they were with the amount of fish, 3 pieces! The halibut was flaky and chunky. However, it was on the dry side - probably common when the fish is cooked directly on the grill (e.g. not wrapped in foil). The salad was just a green salad, with some coleslaw. They also pair it with mesquite sauce. The customer service was super friendly for a partial self-serve restaurant.
We were looking to grab some lunch in the St. Lawrence Market area, and Market Street Catch had a nice patio, so the decision was made. I tried the Fried Haddock and 100% Crab Cake sandwiches, which were ready within about 10 minutes of ordering. They're both fine but nothing special, unfortunately. The Fried Haddock was the better of the two, as the fish was fried pretty well and the zippy hot sauce gave the sandwich some flavor. The 100% Crab Cake 'wich was pretty disappointing, as the crab cake tasted mostly of salt and didn't have much of a crab flavor. (I feel like it was 90% filler and 10% crab.) The service was good and the ambiance was nice, at least.
Always my go to place after visit Christmas market. The chowder is ver creamy with seafood. Halibut is fresh and the salad is freshly made, the seafood pasta is also very very good. The cashier is very helpful and joyful to server. It is half serve and half self self. I went to cashier to choose the food and pay. The cashier will serve the food. Since it is next to at. Lawrence market, public parking is a bit walk. It is a casual place , price is general around $20 per dish.
Stopped by while at the market and this was pretty delicious! I had the grilled salmon with fries and my fiancé had the lobster bisque. The bisque was very creamy and delicious. The salmon was a little salty, but the fries lacked some salt so it was actually a perfect combination. The flavor on the salmon was great. BONUS-- the bisque served as a great dip for the fries in the end lol. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance is casual. There is a sign that says you're not allowed to eat the take away outside one the market street so it's dining in or at home for this location!
our 2nd time here - its just as tasty as it was the 1st! the batter is consistently crispy and the fish is fluffy! when the cravinfs hit, we stroll on down to market at catch toi get our fix! staff are always to assist and serve, dining areas are clean, tables are set w.a condemecondcondiments basket (vinegar, s/p, hot sauce). check them out before you venture your way through the st.lawrence market!
Tilapia was yum! It was charred nicely and tasty. The lobster roll didn't hit the mark for me. It was pricey and the bread wasn't buttery or warm, it was kind of cardboardy to eat, the lobster mix itself had so much sauce and what tasted like imitation crab that I couldn't taste the star of the show, the lobster. The fries though! YUM! With the chipotle sauce, AMAZING. They also gave an amazing portion of it! The servers and workers were very kind and attended to all of our needs during our meal. Would definitely come back but maybe try a sandwich or the tacos instead.
Everything was low quality. I ordered lobster poutine and my friend ordered grilled swordfish. The grilled swordfish steaks came out in three dry thin cuts. The lobster poutine came out with just a plate of potato wedges and cheese sauce. They had completely forgotten the lobster. They finally took it back and added overcooked and cold shredded lobsters. When I asked the server about the cheese curds, she told me the cheese was melted as a sauce. I'm not Canadian but from my understanding, isn't poutine supposed to be fries with gravy and cheese curds? How do you take a simple dish like poutine and fail so badly? I only went because a worker at the market place next door highly recommended it. They need to just relabel their "poutine" as potato wedges with cheese sauce and cold lobster crumbles.

Surprised by the low ratings. I got a grilled tilapia sandwich with fries and it came out quite quick. Perfect spot to get away from the crowds inside the market on a Sunday. The fish was extremely fresh and soft. Loved the sauce on the sandwich too. Fries were fries. They didn't rush me to finish my food on the patio either so it's a great spot in my opinion. read more

I had the lobster roll with salad combo. Lobster roll was below average. Like the other reviewer, I've had a looot better. The salad though was rly good. Here you order at the counter then the food is brought to u. Total with tax before tips came to $25.07. I asked for water and they never brought it out, causing me to have to go into fetch it myself after paying 20% tips - so disappointing. What I ordered was let down but I wouldn't mind trying some of the other menu items. read more
This restaurant next to the St. Lawrence Market in downtown Toronto Ontario Canada offers seafood at a good price. I ordered at the counter after viewing the options from the wall menu and taking a look at the fish. I went with the Grilled Trout with Salmon $16.95. It was fresh, healthy and delicious. We sat inside next to the window but they also have outdoor patio seating. read more

My family and I live in the neighborhood and we have been regulars. The food is fantastic, I especially love the grilled octopus, my kids love the salmon and halibut sandwiches. The smelts are good, but they are fully cleaned out and I miss having the fish eggs that come with smelts at other places. The service is excellent. The place is cleaned well. If you have a peanut allergy, this place is one of the peanut safe restaurants we frequent. read more
What a delight that market street catch decided to open right outside the st Lawrence market! It was great to be able to have a sit down experience with great wine and good food! When your having a craving for fried fish this is where I would go! The fry fish platter came with 4 fried smelt/calamari, one piece of halibut and 2 coconut shrimp, if this was on the menu alone I would definitely order coconut shrimp here, sadly I didn't see it, but I'm secretly hoping it happens to make an appearance soon! These seafood items came sitting on top of a bed of skinny fries similar to McDonald's fries, but to be honest I enjoyed them more here. The crab cake Poboy was certainly a filling sandwich, which was loaded with I think pico de giallo salsa, and something else I can't remember, but I think a good smothering of tarter sauce would have made this sandwich more enjoyable, or maybe just some mayo. We also enjoyed some chocolate and vanilla cheesecake, which was a nice ending to this meal. The staff were super friendly and tentative throughout our meal, the restaurant was super clean, and the patio was a great place to enjoy the afternoon without the sounds of the city in the back ground. read more

Your seafood fix can only be satisfied at Market Street Catch. We came here to try the Octopus as we heard it was a must try and let me tell you it was by far the best I've ever had in the city. We also tried the Lobster Grilled Cheese which seemed to be their staple and this was the best out of all 3 items we ordered. Lastly, we also ordered the crab cakes but this was a huge disappointment as it was dry and not very flavourful. We would definitely come back here again to satisfy our Seafood craving. Ordered take out from here, and the I heart market street pilot project was going on, so market street was closed off to pedestrians and there were picnic benches in the road and live music. Super lovely! Had the shrimp po boy and fried haddock sandwich. The shrimp po boy was really good - we got spicy and you could taste the heat. The shrimps themselves had an awesome crunchy texture which stood out. There were 6 whole shrimps in the sandwich, which was a perfect amount. Would definitely get this again! The fried haddock sandwich was good, but didn't stand out to me as much. After trying the shrimp po boy, it kind of paled in comparison. Pickup for takeout was met with friendly and upbeat staff! read more

My family and I had a very decent dinner here. The place is clean, the servers are very polite and the food is good. I had calamari over a salad instead of chips and I am glad I did that. With the fresh salad and the fried calamari combination, I felt I was somewhere in the Mediterranean. read more

Overall good experience but nothing mind blowing hence the 3 stars. I got the lobster roll and fries. The lobster roll is packed but it seemed like a mix of fake/fresh lobster. The fries are the actual star of the dish. I love when they're small and crispy. I also had a bit of the seared ahi tuna steak which was a bit over seasoned. Not much to comment about on the service as it's an order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. Ambiance was nice as it's patio season but there weren't nice spots available at the time we went. read more
Casual seafood joint. The menu options drew me in, but the food was just alright. From the seafood platter, the grilled octopus/calamari were chewy, and the grilled fish was a bit dry. I also tried the mussel & clams in a tomato wine sauce - the sauce was a bit on the sour side. Many lemon wedges were spotted in the dish, could be the reason. Overall, it's an ok place with decent service. I certainly won't go out of my way to seek out this place, but might give it a second try one day if I'm in the area. read more
Nice seafood joint in the St. Lawrence area. I got the seafood platter and enjoyed it very much. The seafood was all delicious and tender. They had quite a few lovely sauce choices to pair with the seafood, all of which work quite well! The only complaint I'd have is that the charred bits on the seafood were quite evident. Overall, they make nice seafood dishes. Granted that they aren't the most amazing you can find in the GTA, they prepare seafood well and it's at a fair price. I'd definitely recommend you try it at least once! read more

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Went on a sunday afternoon for lunch. Save your money and go to Bar St Lo 2 doors down or go into the St Lawrence Market to Busters Sea Cove. Service is also slow for the simplicity of the food ordered. Also, what seafood place charges extra for tartar sauce! Only gave this place an extra star is because they have a good location and serve beer/wine. Lobster Roll: no flavour or seasoning Grilled Rainbow Trout: the one fish thats nearly impossible to cook any way...they managed to do that. read more
Had some see food cravings (where I explored photos of the food and had to try some) which brought me to try some takeout from this shop by the side of the St. Lawrence Market. Very fishy (in a good way) and nautical atmosphere which is cool. The meal came served on a themed insert with seafood recipes, and looks very similar to Busters Sea Cove so they are likely related. I tried the Haddock meal with fries and coleslaw,and spicy everything, ~$15. It came with a spicy sauce and chipotle mayo which was savoury and quite good! The Haddock itself was decent, had a nice sear and coated with a bit of spice. Shame that you only get three slices though, especially with the price on the more expensive side,and the rest of the meal is just sides. Was not a fan of the fries as well, as they were soggy and the stringy type, which was not that enjoyable. The coleslaw was also just a small containers worth, and would have liked to see more of it, in balance with the mound of fries. Overall decent for seafood cravings, might try other varieties in the future. read more

This is a great restaurant! It's a less busy option to Buster's Sea Cove. Their lobster sandwich is great. Wish I didn't have to choose between salad and fries and have both in smaller portions. There is a grill inside so you might not enjoy the smell but it's inevitable. During winter, every time a delivery person walks in and out you'll be hit by a breeze. Takeout would be a better option than dine in. read more

Gosh I love seafood! Just on the side of the St. Lawrence Market, Market Street Catch is an absolute fantastic establishment that offers very fresh and good portioned meals for anyone looking to grab seafood! The only thing I've ever gotten there was their cod fish and chips but most of the times the Lobster Rolls which is jam packed and loaded with content which is an absolute bang for your buck for only $19.50 and so much fries and a side of coleslaw! This can get messy really quickly but I don't care because of how good this lobster roll tastes and would highly recommend for any seafood lover to go check it out! The service is fairly quick depending on the time of day! read more
I was craving calamari after work drinks, so I made a bee line to this little gem. I'm so glad that this option is available, so I can access freshly cooked seafood even after St. Lawrence Market is closed for the day. For $13, you can get a plate of fresh salad with a mound of fried calamari on top. The calamari is tender, crispy and goes perfectly with the simple salad underneath. The portion was so large that I ended up taking half of it home for lunch the next day. My partner in crime had the halibut steak with fries and he loved the freshly grilled fish. I stole fries and they were great! Definite recommendation for reasonably priced seafood in the city! read more
