I walked into "The Fit" at 2 pm on a Monday, in need of a dress shirt for my two piece suit. I'm not the most fashion friendly person I know, so I had no idea what color shirt to get. That didn't phase the two gentlemen who helped me in the slightest, they were all over it and more than willing to help. Having just arrived from Alaska I had my suit in the car, so I grabbed it and brought it inside. After doing so I tried it on and we discovered that my coat sleeves needed to be shortened, and my pants needed to be hemmed. We decided on a pink shirt and some kind of floral pattern for a tie and hanky, I wasn't sure but they were so I went with their expert opinions. Shirts with necks large enough to fit me are rare, and they always come with bodies and arms much longer than mine. The shirt I purchased at The Fit was no different, so it basically needed to be reconstructed saving only the neck. As if that wasn't challenging enough, I needed to wear the suit at a work event happening the next morning. I thought the mission was impossible, but they told me to come back around 4:30 or 5 pm and they'd try to have it done before they closed at 5:30. At 4:45pm, less than 3 hours later, they called to let me know they were steaming everything and that it'd be ready for pick up around 5pm. I can't say enough about how friendly, patient, and helpful these two gentlemen were. They absolutely nailed the fit, worked with my impossible timeline, and smiled the whole time. Pleased beyond my expectations, I couldn't be happier with The Fit. You guys can't know how much I appreciate your help, expert advise and timely service. Thank you so much! read more

this review is a little late (sorry!) but this place has such informative and helpful workers. i went into this place having no knowledge of how getting a suit tailored works. i wasn't even sure if my dress shirt matched my suit itself. but the staff here are very helpful and wonderful! they helped me get my suit tailored almost perfectly, and on top of that they helped me out with my outfit itself. they are pretty pricey however, but if money is not much of a concern for you, this place has to be one of the best tailors in Arizona. they won't try to up-sell you products like shoes,ties, or dress shirts if you don't need them, and they're very clear on their prices from the get go. overall, this place's atmosphere is very friendly, the staff are helpful, and their work is amazing! it usually takes a week exactly to get your clothes back. read more

I found this shop on Yelp - Thank you, Yelpers! For the four and a half star review, I already 110% trusted them with my alterations. Yea, I am that naive! Anyway, I took two dresses over - one a bridesmaid dress that was two sizes too big and a black tight dress that I accidentally cut with my scissors. I didn't know if the dress can be saved, but I took it to this place anyway. I tried on both dresses and was told that it would take approximately 4 days to fix. The price to fix both dresses were a little pricey, but I opted to pay anyway. In my eyes, you get what you pay for - and in this case, I am paying for "perfection". I strolled in yesterday to pick up the dresses and there was the owner sweet and happy as the last time I saw him. He remembered my name and already had my dresses in his hand asking me if I want to try it on. I first tried on the dress that was two sizes too big, it seemed tight at first. I was thinkig, "Oh my! If I zip this up anymore, I am gonna break this zipper!" I had one of the workers help me zip up my dress and when I looked at myself in the mirror, it was perfect! Everything I asked him to do with the dress was EXACTLY what he did! I then tried on the black dress and that too was perfect. Now, here's the hard part- I now have two dresses that fit me perfectly! That means I can't gain any more weight. So here's the problem: Christmas is a few days away and I've already eaten a brownie, fries, cookies, and a pecan log in the past hour. Hopefully I still fit in my "perfect" dresses on the day I need to wear them. Otherwise, they wouldn't be so perfect anymore. haha read more

This is honestly one of the best alterations place I've ever had. I take all my garments there and have had a bunch of evening gowns taken in there too. There isn't a job I wouldn't trust Dennis' team to do. I recently took in my wedding dress and I couldn't believe what a wonderful job he had his seamstress do. It was gorgeous fit and it made me feel so beautiful. When I ordered the dress the bridal shop put me in a top that was 3 sizes too big and it was way too late to send it back. I was swimming in it. Dennis had his team completely reconstruct the topper and it was an absolute glove. Perfect fit and they completed it within two weeks! Worth every penny and I always send all my friends here. I thought about dropping another star due to the unprofessional contact by one of the owners. But I can't blame both owners due to the unprofessional conduct of one. I find it disturbing that a business would EXPECT only positive yelp ratings, instead of ratings that ACCURATELY reflected a consumer experience with them. I had a few message exchanges with Randall and his take was that I should have contacted them about my issues with their services prior to yelping negatively. I can appreciate that stance. No one wants bad reviews. Every business wants to have repeat customers. However, the fact remains that I had negative experiences at Fit Alterations and did not lie or exaggerate about them on yelp. I'm doubtful that any constructive change or process improvement will take place based on the communication exchanges I had with one of the owners. From the owner's point of view, it was my fault for my bad experience at their shop because I didn't take my issues to them before yelping. From my perspective, when someone mangles my clothing, my consumer trust and confidence in them disappears. As I told the owner, if I had been contacted about why I had negative experiences or what could have been done to improve my experiences, this update would have reflected that. As is, I just received defensive messages that didn't address any of the main issues I brought up, quality and slow turn-around. On second thought, I will drop a star rating. Someone so unprofessional and quick tempered shouldn't be in charge of a businesses yelp replies. read more

I had never had alterations before so I wasn't sure what to expect, but this place was awesome! I took them the dress I needed altered just 2 days before New Years and it only cost $10 extra for fast turnaround! Everyone there was super nice as well! They took my dress in at the waist for me and it couldn't have fit better! I gave 4/5 stars due to the fact that I've only had one thing altered by them, but I will definitely go back though if the need arises! read more

I had a vintage Military Coat that the lining was falling to pieces, pockets had holes, and just looked rugged. Wanted to bring it back to original condition. The fit not only brought it back, but suggested modernizing the inside lining, and thoughtfully changed the lining around the cuffs from satin lining to a more durable fabric, so that it would not wear out at the wrist while rubbing on skin or long sleeve shirts. Absolute genius! They have also altered a good majority of my clothes, from jeans, to suit jackets, even simple T-Shirts. Always affordable pricing, impeccable tailoring, and very fast turnover! So I had a very niche request, however the people at The Fit, were up to the challenge. Basically I am a retro games collector, if you name a games console I probably own it. That being said I like to have dust covers for all my consoles, and for the better known ones like the NES, Dreamcast, Xbox, etc... these are easy to find online. However with some of my lesser known consoles, such as the FM Towns Marty, or Amstrad GX-4000, this was not possible. There were no mass produced dust covers to my knowledge for these systems. That being the case I was in the market to have some custom fitted dust covers made. Well the staff at The Fit was very quick to respond to my request, and asked me to bring both consoles in for measurements. A week later they were both done, but needed to be altered slightly for a more proper tight fit. Another week later and they were done and complete and actually slightly better than I envisioned. They are machine washable, and honestly they did it at an extremely reasonable price, especially considering the amount of work involved. They do great work here, and I will definitely be back if I have any more alterations, of custom projects needed done. read more

It was PERFECT for my other brothers' wedding! After my trial, I brought back SIX dresses to be altered. I'm an extremely tiny woman and it's hard to find clothes to fit my body the way it would fit a normal curvey woman. His custom alterations for my height and length turned all of my long, saggy, hanging dresses to this glove of comfort. Doesn't get any better Dennis and his team do a superb job. Prices are upfront. Dennis and his assistant are quick and easy to work with. Quality of the work is worlds above the alter-by-numbers people at most dry cleaners and at around malls. My suit alterations all fit perfectly. Only drawback are the occasional customers who drive up in their luxury cars, try to cut in line, tell the staff to give them better prices, and then generally huff around the place. Wish there were more gracious people in the world. Credit to Dennis and crew for having the patience to tolerate people like that. Dennis said they will be moving this summer, so will need to keep an eye on where they land. read more
