You need to get the facts straight first before you jump the gun on how friendly Frank was to me because that's simply NOT the case... My ID is 100% valid. Im retired like I told him several times This is what I clearly told Frank a year ago and he said that it was" no issue at all" ..So I ended up coming back to the club a year later to finally join up. He asked me for ID which I showed him, then he started to say oh didn't you come in here a year ago etc, so I said yes I did. He then tells me "oh your ID says retired you can join at the full rate" and "I told you last time that im not giving you the discount we offer ...(that's not true at all ), What he said was that it was NO ISSUE".. He started to examine my ID, hold it up to the light literally about 5 different times ,,,Not sure what that was about...I said Frank, " WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY ID- YOURE EXAMINING IT LIKE ITS A FAKE $100 BILL OR SOMETHING, I said is there an issue?????..and he says " OH NOTHING I WAS JUST LOOKING AT IT. He then continues to say he's not giving me the discount and he told me this last year. I said NO PROBLEM...I was leaving, asked him for my ID back, and he started taking pictures of my ID with his phone... Maybe you can clear that up for me Andrew..what was that about after I said no problem and was clearly leaving the club with my coat on. Why did he start taking pictures of My ID? I mean I could care less that you or him think my ID is not valid, I could care less about any discount, or joining your club..Thats not the point at all.. I just didn't appreciate the way I was treated..PERIOD. Its really as Simple as that..I hope this clears it up for you. My experience was not good.

I had questions regarding options and changes to my membership and the manager Frances Frierson gave me a song and a dance "we'll get back to you". Based on their their lack of caring regarding a member who still was looking to keep a membership, I decided to cancel instead-- why should I be loyal when they obviously didn't appreciate my long time membership and recommendation for them?

Since I'm only here for the week, I didn't want to get tied down to a long contract. But when I walked in, I was joyfully greeted by two employees, Justin and Jeralde (I believe that was his name). Justin explained everything clearly and helped me get a 3-day pass with no pressure at all. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely get a membership here! When I recently visited(July), the mold smell had decreased, but the floors still hadn't been repaired, causing dust to fly everywhere. Despite a long time passing, management only expected understanding from its members instead of fixing the issues, which led me to cancel my membership. However, I found out I had already been charged for June and July without even realizing it. I exchanged emails with the Assistant Manager regarding this issue, but she refused to provide a refund for those months, strictly citing their policy. I told her I understand their stance, but in fairness, I would be leaving a review about this experience. I have been a member here for over 5 years, but in the end, it is clear that they do not care about their members' health or safety. Horrible facility management and completely unfair billing. Avoid this place.

Unfortunately, I'm not God's favorite... so I have to work out to maintain my figure... which…read morebrings me to my 7 year rollercoaster of a relationship with 24 Hour Fitness. I first joined in 2018 and it's sad to see how downhill the corporation has gone. The glory days ended shortly after the COVID pandemic. Since then, they've closed over 7 NJ locations, cut down opening hours, cut down on group classes, removed towel service, and have limited sauna and pool hours. I understand that it took time for gyms to recover and get back into full swing. But it's 2025 now. There's way too much competition in the fitness industry for 24 to be operating the way it is. My biggest ick? The gym is not maintained well at all. Machines and equipment are broken down for months. There's a hand dryer in the women's bathroom that has been out of order since last Spring. There's a constant foul smell in certain areas, most likely due to broken pipes. There's always a problem with the AC during summer months, making it uncomfortably hot. The entire facility needs a deep cleaning from head to toe. What are we paying a maintenance fee for? Come on... Putting the negatives aside, there are some positives. *The floor has all of your basic equipment: treadmills, bikes, stairmasters, squat racks, barbells, benches, dumbbells, kettlebells, TRX, cables, and machines. I can recommend this gym for beginner to intermediate lifters. It's not a bodybuilder or powerlifting gym. *Their Zumba classes are SO MUCH FUN. Don't judge a book by its cover... get in there!!! Take Lucia, Lynn, Nina, or Melissa's classes. Check the website for the full class schedule. *They have a sauna, steam room, pool, and showers with limited hours. I only use the sauna and it's relaxing when it's not super crowded. *The front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. They're personable and will remember you. *My membership allows me to have access to other regional locations as well as bringing guests. Pricing is a bit all over the place. It all depends on when you join, what kind of membership you have, and what sales/promotions are going on. Some members pay $24 or $34 a month, while others are paying $54. It's best to ask the front desk what the lowest rate is. Overall, it's not the worst gym in the world. It gets the job done for my fitness routine. I just wish the maintenance was a lot better and that they would have later hours. Honestly, I've been thinking about finding another gym. If it weren't for the friends and community I've made and my lower price rate, I would have left awhile ago. I'm willing to spend more $$$ on a membership for a much better experience.

No work on any of the machines. I used to belong to Equinox in NYC, and I know what expert training and assessment are like. Disgusted with this club, which I resisted joining for 9 years, even though I live a few streets away. It used to get such horrible reviews because of the filth and smell, but it was supposedly remodeled. Meanwhile, I spent the summer in Ireland and had great training, weights, TRX, stepping, yoga. Meanwhile, the classes I did attend in the Spring in NJ were overcrowded and amateurish. I'm moving back to NYC and want my money back. Terrible experience. Ruben should not be allowed anywhere near women because he was so dismissive and demeaning and completely unqualified.

I'm a fitness and wellness junkie who loves trying new ways to move my body. I've recently been…read morecurious about pilates and decided to take my first class at Impact Group Fitness in Fort Lee. I stumbled upon the studio on the ClassPass app. They're a one stop shop for HIIT, sculpt, and strength classes. They offer two different formats - low impact (sculpt, barre, pilates, yoga) and high impact (dance, strength, circuits, HIIT). I signed up for the 45 minute Mat Pilates class with Cassidy on a Tuesday night. They're located on a busy street, so you'll have to find metered parking. Upon walking in I was greeted by the warm receptionist. I signed a waiver and she gave me a tour. The studio is pretty small. It's squeaky clean, bright, and minimalistic. There's a "lobby"/waiting area with a merchandise display. They have changing rooms, a bathroom, coat hooks, and free lockers. They only have one group fitness room with a large mirror and barre. All of the equipment for the mat pilates class was already provided to us (mat, ankle weights, magic circle, and dumbbells). I like that the class sizes are small because I prefer a more intimate experience. There were about 12-15 of us. The instructor, Cassidy, started and ended the class right on time. Let me just say this. THIS WORKOUT HUMBLED ME. I consider myself to be a fairly fit individual, but this was a humbling experience. The workout was split into core, back, upper, and lower body with different exercises for each section. It was low impact with HIGH intensity and lots of reps. We focused on form, functional movement, and mind to muscle connection. Pilates has a big emphasis on targeting deep, stabilizing muscles through using precise movements. I was huffing and puffing LOL... I FELT THE BURN!!! My core stability, flexibility, and endurance was PUT TO WORKKKK. Definitely a challenge, but fun at the same time. Cassidy was encouraging and welcoming the entire time. There were women of all different shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. We didn't feel any pressure. She gave us modifications and corrections when needed. My only critique is that she could've paused and demonstrated each exercise before we started. She jumped right in after each set and it was a little hard to see her since I was in the far left corner. I also would've liked a little introduction to the class format before we began (especially for first timers), but that's just me being big on education lol. They have monthly memberships, class packs, and drop in rates. I'll be trying a few more classes through ClassPass and I may consider getting a membership afterwards. Should you try pilates? DUH. And for those who think it "looks or sounds easy".... OH PLEASE!!! Try it out for yourself. I absolutely think it's a workout that will be rewarding and challenging for everyone.
