On the way out not realizing I forgot to pay for the smoothie ( had just had bloodwork done and felt extremely lightheaded) the security guard completely harassed me saying I had been there last week and saw me on camera! I had never ever walked into this store in my life. I apologized and said I didn't mean not to pay for the smoothie-went immediately to the cashier and paid. Meanwhile the guard and got the owner/ manager who insisted that he caught me on video camera last week! Again I explained that I had never been in the store before and had stumbled upon it on way from the Drs office. I tried to apologize saying I don't live in the area have never been there before and just walked in after a Doctors appointment because I didn't feel well. The guard and the owner/ manager continued to harass me and continiued to rant saying they caught me on video camera last week. Insanity!!! I will never ever set foot in that shop again and hope nobody experiences this. So glad I do not live anywhere near this awful store!

I've never used the deli section on the left side (as you enter the store) so can't speak about that. My review is about the grocery side on the right. The servers are usually friendly and professional. The produce section is very good for a store of this size, and there's a good selection of packaged goods, especially the herbal tea section. But steer clear of their sliced bread - they don't carry standard brands like Pepperidge Farm and they don't remove old bread from the shelf - they can and will sell you bread that is over two weeks old. I neglected to check the date, like a sucker, until I took a bite out of the bread (Rudi's organic multi-grain oats) and wondered why it was so stale. I bought it today, January 17 but the date was December 30. I didn't find this loaf on some forgotten back shelf - it was right in the center of the middle shelf. $9.99 down the drain. And almost every bag of frozen vegetables I've bought there has been unusable thanks to freezer burn. Last week the organic broccoli I bought was covered in brownish ice (ugh!) So it's good for some types of groceries, not so good for others.

Unfortunately, the two cashier Racially PROFILED me and made and ruined my appetite. The the man I'm assuming was the general manager (I've never seen him before) who told me he was "half Jamaican" when I asked if he was following me around the store, and the young women behind the cashier who followed up and said she was African. you both were irresponsible, cruel, and WRONG. DONT EVER - put your body in front of a customer who you have profiled and believe to be stealing when THEY ARE NOT. and for as victim of racial profiling - I don't care with your jamician, African, or white - stop it. IT WAS AROUND 8:15 ON a Saturday night on may 2nd. Profile me again, and I'm making a formal review with management. BLACK FOLK BEWARE WHEN YOUR IN HERE. EDIT: around 8:30 the same day I went back and spoke to both the GM (Dan) and the other young women directly. If it occurs again, I will be going to someone else.

This is the 29th grocery store tissi I've consumed in the past 2 months, so my palate is dialed in. I took it to this beautiful park on the upper east side that I didn't know existed. There are so many nooks and crannies of this city that I have yet to explore. It boggles my mind how much inspiration is in New York just waiting to be discovered. I sat there, fighting off those vicious little birds as I started consumption. This chicken just didn't do what I wanted it to do. It was pretty decent all around, but had no attributes that really made it stand out. It landed at a 7/10 for me, which lands it at 24th of 33 grocery store rotisserie chickens I have currently tried. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__
