While this is not my go to deli I happened to walk in here last week. They do have some zero sugar cereals so I chose one. As I walked to the front to pay I noticed a live NYC RAT in the center of the deli. As I walked towards the front to pay the RAT scurried under some shelving. I told the guy at the front and he shrugged it off. That is the last time that I will step into this RAT Deli. If you choose to eat here, good luck. read more

I don't know what you call these type of places. It's a cross between a deli, convenience store, juice place, and market. It is typical nyc though and thats why I love it. The chicken caesar salad wrap was ok. I got it with breaded chicken but it was still bland. Needed more dressing or the chicken needed more seasoning. I also got a peanut butter protein bar and a smoothie. Smoothie was solid. They also have plenty of cashiers so you can be in and out quickly. 3 star spot. read more

They had a good variety of offerings. The cupcakes and pastries looked delicious. They even sell sushi/edamame and ramen here. I ordered a Philly cheese steak. It came with peppers, onions and American cheese. If you wanted another type of cheese it cost .75 cents extra. I paid $7.50 for the sandwich. It came on a hero but the hero was equal to a half a Subways sandwich hero. The cheesesteak was well made but it was pretty bland. I had to put ketchup/mayo/salt and pepper to get some flavor out of this sandwich. I was disappointed considering I heard good reviews. Green Gourmet is an extremely convenient bodega on my block. If I'm feeling too lazy to go to Food Emporium a few blocks away and only need one or two quick things, I come here. In the front, there's a hot bar, breakfast options, sandwich options, sushi, ramen, a full service deli with Boars Head meats, and pretty much all snacks you could think of. In the back is an organic and very expensive grocery store with all the staples you could want/need except meat or fish. Be advised that they are organic products so the prices are higher than you would expect. I love having the Green Gourmet on my block for its convenience and friendly staff, however, I would never do all of my grocery shopping here because of high prices and lack of interest in organic/gourmet groceries. read more

Literally the stingiest place I've been to. I bought a platter of cookies in the morning and later returned it unopened. Their return date for produce and food is two days. When I brought it back, the platter tipped over a little bit and the cookies were on one side. However, the lady very rudely told me how she "couldn't sell it now" to other customers and shoved it back into my hand. I have legit gotten sick twice from their salad bar. Today they lost me as a customer, and I'm gonna make sure that my friends and neighbors stay away as well. I was buying just some few items this evening, and the total was 7 dollars 40 cent. This is a nice corner store with a good selection of typical grocery items (many organic options), a nice variety of freshly prepared foods (sushi, sandwiches, salads, etc), and they even have a hot bar and a decent spread of fresh desserts. I was a little torn giving this place two stars... I really wanted to give it three, because let's be honest in the fact that most corner stores do not deserve 4 or 5 stars since we only shop at these places out of convenience. Anyway, the staff at the Green Gourmet is always friendly, the place is clean, they have a nice selection of products, and the prepared food items that I've eaten from here have been decent. However, these positive factors do not mitigate the single greatest shortcoming of this corner store: the refrigerated beverages (sodas, beer, etc) are NEVER cold, which is a huge disappointment on a hot day when you run in, hoping to get a cold drink to help you cool down. read more

After coming here many times during lunch, I'm going to stop coming. I ordered a chicken sandwich on roll, which they say on their menu is $6.00, and when they rang me up, it was $7.08. I asked why I was charged this, and they said the sandwich is really $6.50 + tax. I said, it should be $6.00 + tax because that is what it says on your billboard. If it's really another price, you need to change it up there. I'm about the principle, not necessarily the price. Don't advertise one thing and charge more and pretend I'm not going to notice. I placed a pick-up order at 10:20 a.m. via GrubHub. I received an email saying it would be ready between 10:45 and 10:55. I got to the store at exactly 10:45 and they hadn't even started making my food. About 5 or 6 people walked in, ordered food and got theirs before me although I had placed my order A HALF HOUR AGO. The cook finally started preparing my breakfast at 10:55 and when I asked the woman behind the counter why it was taking him so long she just kept saying, "I don't know." There was no effort on her part to tell him to speed it up, just a weak apology. She told the manager what was going on, he never addressed the issue either. I called GrubHub and told them what happened. They made the deli take 30% off my order because of their screw-up. This is not the first time I've had problems with this place. A few weeks ago I ordered a breakfast special with home fries and they gave me hash browns. Didn't notice their error until I got home. When I called and told them they got my order wrong, they told me they ran out of home fries and gave me the hash browns instead. What they should've done was CALL ME to ask what I wanted instead.
