Just finished a guest bathroom remodel and I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the results. The Flooring Shop was not the only company we received quotes. They were not the most or least expensive, we received a quote which was very manageable. Sami (owner) and Monica(arranges the workers & appts.) are extremely helpful and makes sure what you want is what you get. Monica keeps in touch with you AT LEAST 3 times a day. Sami will come over to see the start of the job and will show up at the finished....Monica comes in and also inspects. If they find something not right- they get it fixed. They found 1 or 2 things not right which I or my husband did not notice and had it fixed. Now I have to convince hubby to let me remodel Master Bath. Oh Boy!. Check Them Out. read more

We had a very positive experience with TFRS. They nearly gutted and remodeled our master bathroom earlier this year. The reason we chose them and one of the reasons I highly recommend them is their STRONG commitment to a tight schedule for the project. They provide a tentative schedule at the beginning of the project, and are able to keep to it unless something unexpected comes up. During our job the tile work took longer than the 2 days originally allotted, so they worked through Easter weekend to ensure the delay didn't hold up the rest of the project. Their subcontractors nearly always arrived in the time expected, and they really only use one crew for each sub-job, i.e.. the paint guys that come and do wall paint & texture are the same paint guys that come do the finish work on baseboards after tile install. I really appreciated that the crews were the same and everyone was familiar with our job when anything needed next steps/repair/touch-up. Another reason I recommend them is that they really put in an effort to keep your job from excess costs. The plumbing on our project that needed to be re-routed was more complicated than they originally anticipated, but without cutting corners, the crew came up with a solution that worked well and didn't involve extra slab drilling & excess cost. One more reason that we liked working with TFRS is that they set up a group text at the beginning of the project that includes the salesman, the project scheduler/main contact (Monica - she supervises, schedules, and inspects all jobs and is WONDERFUL to work with!), the purchaser/supply manager, and the owner of the company, and of course, the homeowner. They are all quite active and VERY responsive on the text chain. It is an easy way to keep track of the job and get any questions answered quickly. The only knock I have on TFRS and the reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I got a bit frustrated during the design process as one of their employees tried to steer me away from things I specifically said I wanted, and would frequently forget/disregard things we had previously discussed. At the end of the day, we absolutely love our new bathroom and were happy with the experience working with TFRS! I would like to reiterate that Monica was so great about handling the needs we had as homeowners, and did a great job keeping the renovation on track & all crews at the job site when they were needed. She is so responsive, patient and easy to work with, I really can't say enough good things about her! Overall, I highly recommend this company for renovations!! read more

I bought a Condo and the flooring needed updating. After shopping several places I happened into the Flooring Shop. Sami was very helpful and was able to arrange the work on short notice. The installation crew was on time and did a great job on both the tile and carpet. There were a couple of small issues, which were resolved quickly and to my full satisfaction. I want to start off by saying that their quality of work is good. There were some issues, but they got fixed once I brought it to their attention. Make sure to check behind the fridge and other areas to ensure all caulking, etc was completed. Also, watch for baseboards that are not cut correctly. Other than those issues, they did a great job. The area that was disappointing was their customer service. Check your contract. They talk about floor leveling bags, make sure to take pictures of all the bags used. Do not take their word for it. If you see them using bags of leveling concrete, have them show you the bags and take pictures. The contract says to confirm the bags with them and I did. It was 1 bag and they charged us for 7. My wife signed this a fews days after this was done and they were not budging. We let it go, but don't want another person to get caught. It was a shame as we are going to look elsewhere for our bathroom remodel. read more

The Flooring Shop did a good job on our floors, however the owner was extremely unprofessional. They agreed to install our new fireplace, but they did a terrible job on it, and they had to take it all down and start over. The stones were completely crooked and uneven, and the owner argued with us that it was supposed to look that way. The owner also would only communicate through text messages rather than on the phone. He would avoid questions that he didn't want to answer when my husband would text him. He never thanked us at the end of the job, and he never even came out to inspect the job. I would not use them again, and I would not recommend them. read more

We had carpet replaced in our bedrooms and were very satisfied with the Flooring Shop customer service. We had decided to use their services due to the great reviews and competitive pricing. There were a couple minor issues that had come up after installation but Sami definitely took care of us and made sure that we were more than pleased once the job was completed. Would not recommend this company to anyone. Our experience was laborious, frustrating and the end product did not meet our expectations. We had 75% of our floors redone through this company and our frustrations were: lack of communication, responsibility and poor project management. We went with this company because they promised to meet our deadline before we moved into our new home. Our floors were measured incorrectly, so too little product was ordered for them. This one mistake would be fine, but it delayed our completion by over a month after we moved in. It would have been longer because we were told the product was backordered, except that we called the supplier themselves who had extra in stock that we went and bought ourselves. If we had waited on the company - it could have been months longer. Additionally, they accepted the wrong baseboards that were not primed and their workers put them in. We pointed this out (through much back and forth) and they were only given one coat of primer painting, when they needed two to cover all the streaks so raw wood was not exposed in places. Even though it was their mistake in putting in the unprimed baseboards, they would not accept responsibility and accountability and paint a second primer coat. The entire process in between was a headache. You are better off to contract yourself or go with another company. read more

We had 3 full bathrooms fully remodeled and a bar area countertop replaced. From our selection of materials all the way until the final inspection, This was by far the most professional, timely, service oriented contractor I've ever dealt with. We wanted to have all the work done before the holidays. Sami completed a price and time quote and he met BOTH. I couldn't believe they could complete that much work in a little less than 4 weeks and for the price quoted. We had some contractors gives quotes for the one master bath that exceeded what we paid for 3 full baths plus a bar. As an example of their great service, they re-did the tile grout that WE selected after it was clear it did not look good. The selection and ultimate appearance was our doing, but Sami did not want us to be disappointed with the outcome and agreed to replace it. If I have other home improvement projects, I can't see wasting time getting quotes from other contractors. Sami's earned our trust and future business. read more

WOW! WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Our salesman and owner, Sami, was charming and told us that his installers were employed by The Flooring Shop. As the floor was being put on the wood slats were obviously defective and could be seen just by looking at them. Although he was called to the job site to review the problem he refused to come to view the problem or stop the installation. The installers were contracted installers and NOT employees and would not listen to our requests to stop the installation. Once the defective floor was fully installed, Sami demanded his money, we refused to pay as the flooring was defective and he put a lien on our home. The flooring manufacture, Johnson Hardwood Floors, investigated the floor and gave us a cash settlement with enough money to cover the cost of the new floor including our moving and storing our furniture, 10 days at a hotel, and other related expenses. This substantial cost to Johnson Hardwood Floors and our considerate inconvenience was caused because Sami would not respond to daily alarms about the defective material. His store is 4 miles from our home and there was NO excuse that he couldn't travel this short distance. Great salesman but negligent business owner. Having the showroom nearby in Plano is an added bonus but they will also bring samples to you so you can see what they look like inside your home.So much more than just flooring, we have had tile, bath fixtures, molding, & cabinetry installed by their staff. The owner is incredibly professional, straightforward and honest. The tradesmen he employs are efficient, skilled and always respectful of our home.
