When I heard this place was opening I know I had to check it out. They expanded the patio out and it is a great place to sit and enjoy your pastry and coffee. I got an iced Americano and it is great! They have plenty of flavor shots that you could add in, if flavor shots are your thing. They have a variety of dry baked goods like bread and scones, they also have a baked case with things like cupcakes and cake slices. I tried the almond toast and a cinnamon honey scone. The almond toast was good but had a sweeter taste than I expected, almost like it also had apricot or something with it. The scone was good, it would be perfect with a cup of hot tea. The cupcake was good, I'd like to try out some other flavors. Overall I will be back for sure to sample some additional things! They had quite a few I wanted to try like chocolate croissants and danishes. I have gone back and the peach iced tea and the fruit tart with a chocolate crust were awesome!

    Frappuccino style, only better.

The Flour Box consistently serves the best bread in town. Ask what is on special, and be sure to try the coffee (Fortuna out of Greensboro). I'm not usually one for frozen drinks, but they make a killer frozen coffee drink that blows the socks off of a Starbucks frappuccino. Ask for it with caramel and whip cream. Awesome affordable coffee walkable for UNCsa and Salem students.

Love this little place. It's my favorite little pastry spot. I stop here on my way to work if I'm early. It's a great little treat.

And a new trailer setup with outdoor chairs and tables. Some umbrellas would be nice but my friend & I just moved chairs to the shade of a tree, no problem. I do want to taste my way through their summer menu (particularly the blueberry French toast, which is a coffee drink with blueberry cold foam), but I actually asked for something off-menu, a lavender frappe with vanilla base -- if you've seen my cheers about Bitty & Beau's (miss having them right downtown WS), that's the one they named for me. They made it in no time flat (seriously, never had a beverage whipped up so quickly) and it tasted just like home.

Though I've never gotten food, there is a refrigerated area with sandwiches. The seating inside is very homey, with couches and separate rooms with tables and chairs. There are also options for purchasing local handmade items such as candles. My coffee here is always good and my daughter loved the strawberry frappe yesterday (caffeine free of course) and enjoyed the front porch sitting area. We were lucky enough to see the train pass by while we had our drinks! The staff are very friendly and chat personably with their customers while they prepare drinks! Parking is behind the building, so don't miss it!!
