The wait in the line going out the door is very much worth it. Showed up at 11:05 on a Saturday morning and had an unbelievable chocolate croissant with the loaded focaccia. So. Freaking. Good. If I lived in Winston-Salem, I'd be here weekly. Such a cozy spot and a super friendly staff.

Loved this spot! Beautiful decor and interior, and just as beautiful selection of pastries to match! The staff were very friendly and warm, really enjoyed my experience and everything we ordered. Plenty of parking and a patio deck for outside seating out back as well.

I've heard such good things about this place and I was not disappointed. Great variety of treats and drinks. I got a maple Latte. It was delicious and the Morning Bun. It was so good. Big and tasty. Plenty of place to eat or work. I will always be a fan of a good wall of glass to enjoy a meal in the sun and I did just that. Definitely a weakness for a sun-drenched cafe and a good meal.

Happy to see that Bobby Boy has not lost quality at all in recent years. They're amazing every time! They're expensive, but you get incredible quality! Best in the area! I tried the seasonal pull apart today - vanilla and chai spiced. It was crunchy outside with soft interior (like me!), gorgeous (also like me?), and flavorful. You can really taste the chai and vanilla, but it's not too sweet. What is very sweet is the staff. For how hard they work and how early they're up and at it, they have always been kind and helpful too!

They are still the best fine bakery in town, if you want the best, this is where you should go. Their new location is also equally as good!

Bobby Boy Bakeshop came highly recommended. Our problem was we came pre Thanksgiving in the early afternoon when most of the baked goods were sold out. My intention was to try the chicken salad sandwich based on the photos but it's not on the daily menu. They do a daily sandwich and soup. The sandwich of the day was a smoked salmon over a delicious bread. The bread was soft and thick which was the perfect vehicle for a good portion size of smoked salmon. The focaccia slab was also very hearty topped with cheese and a tomato sauce. We tried one of their sweets that was still available. I don't recall the name but we will definitely come back for another sandwich and try their croissants and eclairs.

The hype is real, yall! Wow! This has to be the best bakery in town! It is so cute inside and outside, and the desserts were SO DELICIOUS! We drove by a few times, and the line was so long, so we came around 2pm and it died down, but there weren't many dessert left, thankfully what was available was still delightful! We have to come back on a weekday and try more. They were fast and friendly, too! This place is a local gem, and I can see why they have two locations! Can't wait to try more!

My new favorite lunch spot! I'm thrilled to see all the expansion happening in the new Bobby boy space. They've got all their classics everyone loves like the mushrooms danish and peanut butter brownie but now they're carrying a mix of lunch specials each day that focuses on local produce. This week we got their classic meatball sub topped with burrata and their tahini roasted carrots, panzanella salad, and farro stuffed pepper. It's always light and fresh & it's neat to see each chefs touch on the daily specials.

If you've been to Winston-Salem, you know about Bobby Boy Bakeshop. I think they have the best coffee that I've ever had - the syrups are soooo good and they're made in house! You will be overwhelmed by the amount of pastries, so just get multiple because why not! I've never had a bad one. The chocolate almond croissant was scrumptious! The locations are usually a bit busy on the weekends, but I think we only waited in line for 10 minutes or so. They move quick! Plus, it gives you more time to look at all of the beautiful pastries. It's a can't-miss spot in Winston!

I will start with service because there was a line out the door!!! However, due to the efficiency of how they run the place, the line was moving pretty quickly! So much so, I stayed. Typically this would make me turn around but I was visiting from out of state and my friend (a local) made me wait. I was not disappointed AT ALL! My boyfriend and I shared a few different pastries and I could not decide on my favorite. A few pastries on the menu were not available but that was not a problem. The workers although busy, had a very positive and bright vibe. They were very welcoming when we said we were visiting! Seating was easy to find, tables were opening up, there was a bar to sit at as well as an outdoor patio. Surpassed expectations! You get what you pay for

The food and coffee is always amazing! The staff is so sweet! Its always busy and clean inside!

Ham and Cheese Croissant - well sized
    Fred B.

Finally got a chance to come here. I chose the Ham and Cheese Croissant, which goes for $6! My purchase was handled very quickly and I was on my way. This is a well sized, well filled pastry - flakey and loaded with sliced ham and cheese. This may well be the best savory croissant I've ever tasted. I will certainly return to sample some of the sweet items.

Such a cute modern shop. They take their time making their product. The cinnamon roll was delicious and pretty. Service was top tier and they moved the long line along. Definitely try this location. So good!

This is a counter service restaurant but they do bring your food out to you. Firstly any place that serves ramen and burgers gets two thumbs up from me and the hubby; we both can eat our favorites! I ordered a single cheeseburger. Straightforward burger that tastes like a burger. Yes! Nothing worse than a burger that is trying to do too much. The onion rings were outstanding! We also ordered the pork belly cheese fries which were loaded with pork belly..no stinginess there and the kickin' sauce was good! The hubby ordered the street style yakimen which was not only beautiful but super filling. He loved the flavors and already is planning a return visit to try the poke bowls. A definite gem in the West End!

They had more on the menu than I expected, from smash burgers, to buttermilk fried chicken to, obviously, poke bowls. I built my own bowl, and was very happy with the result. Everything tasted fresh and very flavorful. My only small gripe was that I could tell the pineapple was not fresh and obviously canned. The jalapenos were fresh sliced and added a bit of heat, which is perfect. I feel like this is one of those places I could come back multiple times and get different combinations of things in the menu.

It's a small space - a few tables inside and a few tables out - but don't let that or the line you are likely to encounter deter you. They crank out sandwiches quickly here. Said sandwiches include about two dozen hot and cold offerings as well as the ability to build your own. The meats are Boar's Head, but the desserts and soups are made fresh in-house. Check out the display case for salads and sides that might catch your eye. O'Brien's prides itself on its Reuben, and so I went with the "mini" version (a quarter rather than a half pound of meat) with a pickle for my first visit here. Ordering at the register was a breeze, and I was fortunate enough to snag one of the tables for dine-in. Though I was a bit skeptical that the Reuben would match the hype, it delivered. I don't know that it is without a doubt the best version I've had, but it is definitely up there. The grilled rye was nice and crisp, and I appreciated that they used both mustard and Russian dressing. That, plus the meat, kraut, and melty cheese, made for a very satisfying bite. At $10, the sandwich proved a good value, too. Unpretentious and nostalgically comforting (for Northern transplants, at least), O'Brien's is a well-oiled sandwich-slinging machine. Though that Reuben will be hard to top, I look forward to giving one of their other offerings (maybe a Cuban, maybe a Spicy Italian) a try.

And as for a double curse, at most of these spots, the prices go up as the portions tail off. I have found Jason's to be flying against these trends, consistently providing stable value and consistent flavor from a menu that is large and varied - with their full salad bar providing one of the very best values at any restaurant, national or local. On this visit, I was again picking up several items for a small family group. We chose fully loaded containers from the salad bar, a bow of chili, and a full sized Reuben sandwich. Once home, we split the items up for all to enjoy - nothing disappointed! This was a first try with the chili, and it was quite nice - plenty of well seasoned ground beef, no beans or onions, but was well topped with cheddar cheese! The Reuben contained 8 ounces of hot, tasty corned beef, great cheese, plenty of kraut, marble rye, and lots of 1000 Island Dressing. It was cut into the required pieces, and the additional dressing was shared - a bit messy but delicious in total. The center piece was the large amount of variety in the salad, and when well covered in the dressing this was great - not especially healthy with the amount of dressing I added! I'll be back soon as I noticed they are offering Beef Stew for a while - gotta try that.
