What only started as fact-gathering, as one of my hockey friends works for Sleep Country, ended up in a nice purchase! Not that I was talked to, but the owner Neil, it's amazing what a wealth of info when it comes to buying a mattress. As i'm in sales too, i'm sure all the competitors offer similar 90-return policies, price-matching, make you try all the different beds and all but here's why I chose Simmons: --assembled and made here locally! --Sleep Country doesn't specialize in any particularly brand, as they carry all brands --their discounts based on what incentives the manufacturers offer to the sales ppl! It's all about the service, and they let me try 6 different beds, there for about 2 hours, gradullay narrowing down to me liking the medium firmness, with a soft 'topper'. and i'm just amazed how much quality sleep i get now; from 4 hrs to about 6, though when i know i have to wake up early on just a few hours of sleep, then i'm back to the futon/sofa ;)))

Mike asked us what we were looking for, listened to us, gave us a few choices, and helped us pick the perfect mattress. Then it was time to talk price. We expected to pay through our nose but the one we picked happened to be on sale, and he offered to throw in a fancy mattress pad, and delivery was free, and they have a service to take away your old mattress for only $10.50!!! That was on a Wed, he scheduled delivery for Sat, he said the delivery guys would call between 8 and 9 am to give us a time for delivery. They called at 8:20 am, they said they would deliver between 2 and 5 pm, they arrived at 2:30pm. It was raining and I hadn't covered our floors yet but no problem, out of their pockets they pulled out booties to slip on!!! They were courteous, professional and extremely efficient!!! Now, if the mattress lives up to its expectations, I would say that the whole experience was heaven sent!!!!

When we said we just wanted a refund as their 100 night guarantee says, they got angry and yelled, threatened us, slandered us in front of other customers, and Jaspreet made sexually charged comments to my wife - "I'll put something in your mouth to shut you up." Refused to do my refund, then said it was my fault, and threatened to call the police on us if we didn't leave the store. Head office has finally intervened and is sending us a refund cheque, but we've been without a bed since the delivery (they took our old bed away when they delivered the new one), so haven't had a bed or our $3050 returned in 5 days now. Sleep Country head office hasn't taken our allegations seriously and doesn't think their employees did anything wrong. Don't go to Sleep Country, especially this Poco location.

It is easy to say it has been 'the' best mattress protector I have purchased and used. The pad has really done 'its thing' well, and at the same time, has proven to be so comfy and durable. I recently decided to call Sleep Country to purchase a second one -- to make my bedsheet changes quick and easy. My first try / use of the new pad, received this week, is coming up soon, at my next change of sheets, et al. A much-enjoyed, fine product carried by Sleep Country.

We called on 2 separate occasions to try and get the mattress exchanged. Chris demanded that I measure the mattress to prove to him that I knew the difference between a twin and a double.... Common on! When I said we need to have this exchanged he was rude and and unhelpful... and hung up on me. This type of service .... Once you paid for the product, the company becomes unhelpful, seems unwise in the current economy. We will certainly approach him again in the future should the need arise and recommend him to any one who requires beddings of any kind . The delivery was made punctually as promised. The two young men making the delivery were very polite and even though one only had to make one step to step into the entrance of our home protected his shoes with a covering. The only regret I have is that I should have asked those two young men to do assembly as I suffer from arthritic pain 50 dollar fee would have been a price well worth it to me . At 81 years of age I like to exercise me Brain as often as possible even though in this case inappropriate.

Meanwhile I'm trying out different beds (because what else are you going to do in a Sleep Country), with no thought to buying, but when I saw the great deal that my kid got I decided to get the one that I liked too. Everytime we call he said there was an issue with their supplier. They are delivered in the warehouse and we need to count. Which are most likely all lies. I asked for a refund as we have been waiting for so long and he says the owner is on a business trip and he can't do refunds. While both the King Edward Street and the Lougheed Hwy locations chatted with me happily about my wedding needs and went out of their way to get us set up with whatever patio chairs they could rustle up - this store point blank said no to selling what they had on hand (and both staff members I spoke to said it was the manager's discretion to insist I order and wait 2 weeks). Sometimes having a bit of compassion and flexibility goes a long way in achieving return customers. JYSK as a whole has impressed me to date, but I'll not be coming back to this specific one in the future.
