Yum yum yum! Went to The Fold today and was beyond impressed. The service, the taste, and the ambiance was all enough to make me wanna come back time and time again! When we walked we were greeted by a very friendly lady who took our order and answered any questions we had. We ordered the build your own pizza. We added Pepperoni and Meatball. It came to a total of $22, which is a bit steep. But considering the market, it's a very competitive price. When the Pizza came out, it was delicious! I really try to not write bad reviews but the situation that happened at the Fold was really disappointing: My family came here for dinner on a Saturday evening. It seemed a normal level of busy but not anything crazy. However we ordered and then nothing came. I think we checked in with the waitress once and she assured us the food was coming but that the kitchen was backed up. After an HOUR of waiting, still nothing had come out. We noticed a couple next to us got their food even though they had ordered after us. At that hour mark, the waitress says our pizzas are allegedly about to be put in the oven but it will still be another 45 minutes at LEAST. She gives us the option to leave and we do. As we walked out of the restaurant we noticed that people who had been seated after us in the outdoor reserved section were eating their food. It seemed like they were prioritizing other people's orders over ours. If the kitchen was backed up they should have warned us before they sat us because we would have gone elsewhere instead of wasting our time. I rarely write a review, but the Fold in Sunriver is a well-deserved exception. I've dined in a lot of restaurants in large and small cities and across the Bend landscape. It's rare to find one where the atmosphere is friendly, the staff show care for the customer and the food is great. The inviting nature of the Fold gave what some can relate to as the "Cheers" vibe. The pizza took forever and was burnt. My son ordered the "famous fries" I think the menu said world famous battered fries, not sure what world they were in but Mc Donald's are better. The servers appeared to want to talk to one another rather than pay attention to the customers. My daughter in law ordered one of the folded sandwiches, it was big and the insides were good but the bread part was burnt. Two burnt pizzas and a burnt sandwich, The toppings on the pizzas was good under the burnt. The one thing that everyone was talking about on the way back wasn't the food, but it was how strong the hosts Cologne was. Certainly way over the top and I seriously felt like I kept smelling it even when we were sitting back at home. Probably great for a cologne advertisement, not for a food establishment. Ok - to the food. Pizza is a tough one. There are so many different styles, sauces, etc. it isn't like reviewing something like a steak or hamburger where there is a general "standard". With that said a really good pizza is going to sway a lot of people who may prefer a different style. This pizza was my style, and I liked it, but many in my party didn't. It is a thin crust, thinner sauce and the cheese doesn't really meld to the pizza. Not sure what you call it. A lot of my people complained of it being too greasy or the cheese all ripping off on the first bite if you went careful. We had a hula girl and plain cheese. The hula girl did seem like to many toppings for such a thin vessel, which again was alright by me, but I think I was the only one who didn't complain. We also ordered a salad (the one with beets) and the orange wings. Salad... meh, it was different. But one thing we all agreed upon was the wings were not good at all. They had a tiny bit of orange flavor, which made them more off putting than had they been completely dry. There were enough wings in there for everyone to have one, take a bite and toss them (50% off the bites getting spit out). I was staying in Sunriver for the labor day weekend and on the way out, I wanted to see what their pizza offerings were. This looked like a nice modern but standard pizza place - more than a local joint, and with some artistry, but not crazy. It was fantastic. I do consider myself a pizza snob and as an east coast native, i do tend to favor that foldable slice. I was hoping the name would deliver and oh yeah, it did. This is the kind of pizza I want. Great crust, variety of toppings, awesome cheese blend. If you want light on cheese it might not be the best choice, but I will take all the problems that come with it! I haven't tried enough in downtown Bend to say how it compares overall to the area, but from what I have done and seen I think it has to rate pretty high. There are a lot of great options in Portland near where I live but I would go to this place again if it was near me. Also random notes: there is a full bar. And the bathrooms have a little tribute to Anthony Bourdain which is cool. read more

Was excited to try this, the pictures looked great, and had heard good things. In our party, we got two Bee Stings, two maple wings and a meatball folded. The meatball folded lacked flavorful meatballs and the cheese didn't really pop, so it fell flat. The Bee Stings were great flavor wise, but a couple small issues. One had way too much liquid on it, it was pooling in different places. The other issue with both pizzas was the crust in the middle was so wet that the dough never expanded, it was just a floppy uncooked mess. We had to eat the middle with a fork, as it would have been physically impossible to fold it without the toppings falling everywhere. I can't tell if the oven wasn't hot enough or if there just was just too much liquid for the dough to cook. The service was good, wait staff was friendly and fast, the only other issue was that we had ordered a salad that never came. There were a few more pizzas I'd like to try, so I'll definitely be back, and hoping that the other pizzas the crust is a little more done on the inside. read more

The fold has great food + great service. We called to get in on New Years day. They said they were too busy to accommodate a reservation but to try calling back incase someone else cancelled or no showed. Well we called back and they were able to squeeze in (with a party of 8.) Which was super nice. It's didn't seem overly packed or busy to me, but of course being a small restaurant I have no idea at what level their kitchen gets overwhelmed. I'm sure they also did have a lot of take out too. Anyways- we ordered the Fun guy, hula girl, bee sting + a cheese pizza. As well as the Caesar salad + orange wings. They first accidentally brought us out a Fun guy with no cheese. Honestly, we didn't even notice and thought it was it was good. However, once they realized they offered and brought us over another fun guy with cheese, which was super nice. It's honestly hard to say which one we liked the best. They were all good and different. I will say, half our group thought the fun guy was the best. Personally I love just a basic cheese- that is where I feel you can really judge one pizza place against another. Their cheese was great- they have an excellent crunchy crust. Some of our party is sensitive to gluten/dairy (sensitive, but doesn't stop them from diving into either on occasion) and both reported, tmi- no potty issues next day. Which is nice. Caesar salads were really good. Had a lemony bite which I loved. More lemon then better. Wings were also good. Their homemade ranch tastes more like a dill yogurt dip vs ranch but I still thought it was good! (My kids however didn't) oh and drinks - drinks were good, our table got old fashions, the Pablo Escobar which was strong but refreshing And a Jalapeño marg, which was also enjoyed. They even made me a virgin Pablo Escobar which was super delicious. If you are in the Sunriver area, the fold is def. worth a stop for lunch or dinner. So this is our first time going out to this place in Sunriver and for the amount of money we paid and the dirtiness of the place as well not to mention we waited over a half an hour and our pizza apparently ripped in the oven so they have to remake it now and all they could say is sorry for the inconvenience the forks are all made from China mismatching plates the cups are the only thing that are on point this butter knives that they supplied are totally different ones huge one small and the pizza sausage provided as well tastes like it's just out of a regular tomato can the ranch is some funky with it products and I thought companies were supposed to use industrial cleaners oh never mind they're using Dollar tree clean product back to the original the pizza is garbage it just like all the toping just slid right off we have to use our silverware to scoop the sides back on it is way too greasy way too greasy and the actual taste of the pizza was completely disgusting and there was no sauce and we had to wait extra time for our pizza for a $45 pizza that is no bigger than a small Figaro's Pizza read more

I happen to love the kind of pizza served here- thin, almost cracker crisp, slightly charred crust from a high heat oven, with a modest amount of good quality ingredient toppings. A harder edge seems common with this kind of pizza, so I think whether any particular diner might have with that issue is a matter of preference. To be fair, I also enjoy a cheesy, gooey, hold with both hands slice, with a softer crust, but that's just a different kind of pie. We ordered a Fun Guy pizza and found it delicious. Never had oyster mushrooms as a topping before, but really enjoyed it. Ditto the garden salad, which was well dressed and incorporated a light sprinkling of refreshing herbs. My wife and I differed in opinion about the meatball side dish. My wife enjoyed it, but I found the meatballs too dry and hard for my taste. I suspect they're probably prepared with less fatty meat or extra binders in order to pull double duty as a pizza topping. The service here was also attentive and friendly, which absolutely cemented the 5 stars from us. Would love to visit again! read more

What a great addition to The Village - pizzas and salad spot on! Came in with family on a busy night and the staff did their very best to accommodate the take out rush and every table being occupied. NOTE: to the family that came in with reservation which couldn't be accommodated due to Oregon capacity limits, I understand your frustration but I DO NOT think getting flippant with the only waiter on that night is cool. Much less so picking up a verbal sparring and flipping the bird on your way out the door.
