Its a truck stop restaurant that attracts a lot of locals too. Ate breakfast there twice. The wait staff is pretty friendly and the service was decent. They have a huge collection of toy semi trucks around the ceiling. The portions are big enough that I got something off the over 65 menu the second time. I had a huge portion of chicken fried steak, biscuits, and gravy that i shouldn't have finished the first time. Coffee is weak, but it seems the same as the other diner in town. I stopped in for breakfast on my way south out of Bend. Overall, a good stop. The gas and diesel prices are comparable to other stations in the area, and the convenience store was nice. Your typical Snacks, grab and go hot items, drinks, sundries, and items that truckers might need. They do offer both showers and a laundry for travelers. The restaurant was good. Just your typical "diner" vibe, decorations on the wall, and they have wooden toys throughout the building, that are handmade by a local person, and are for sale. Overall, I liked my breakfast. I had the "taco omelette." I asked for fruit instead of potatoes, and was told that they had canned peaches. That was fine. The omelette was very large,, the eggs were good, and I liked the filling. There was cheese, onions, and the beef was seasoned well. One small thing, the menu said that it had tomatoes, but mine didn't. A little bit of shredded lettuce would've also been nice to add an extra little "pop" of freshness. Charge a few cents more. I would pay it. It did come with sour cream and salsa, which also added to the quality of the breakfast Overall, I was very happy with my breakfast. The toast was a good quality, and the coffee was very good. Walked out after waiting almost an hour. The place was a little over a quarter full. Our waitress was nice. Cheese stick came out within five minutes as well as our drinks. I've been frequenting Gordy's Restaurant in Wickiup since the 80's. The ownership of the establishment has changed several times over the years. However, under present ownership I have found a few servers they have hired who have been real clinkers. My wife and I arrived at Gordy's this evening for dinner. We walked in about 6:00 pm. We were directed to sit at one of the booths near the cashier since the server had a preference made it clear to other customers she did not want to walk across the restaurant. We seated ourselves. There were scattered customers throughout the restaurant. Two other groups of guests arrived some time after we seated ourselves and were also directed to seating near the cashier. We waited about 10 minutes to get some water. About 15 minutes after seating ourselves she came over to take orders. Instead of taking the orders in accordance with their arrival time. She went over to the last group who came in and began taking theirs. We got up and left. Neither my wife nor I will return to Gordy's until she is properly trained on customer courtesy or discharged. We went to Wickiup Station Sports Pub and had BBQ Beef Brisket and fries. The sandwiches and service were superb. We probably departed Wicki Station before the others at Gordy's even received their food. read more

Best Chicken Fried Steak according to my husband. And my granddaughter had the BLT and Saif the bacon was delicious. I had the fish and chips. The salad that came with it was fresh and crisp!! So good! Fries were good but I wasn't crazy about the fish. It was cooked perfectly but I didn't like the taste of the batter. So all who are hesitant to stop here....lose the hesitation. We stopped in for dinner, that was our first mistake. We were given menu's by the dishwasher and we sat down. We were told one person called in sick so they were short staffed. We waited over thirty minutes for the waitress. She came over and we asked for milkshakes, she said she would "think about making them, but probably was too busy". We tried to order dinner; she said the cook is only allowing fried foods due to being so busy. There were about five tables filled while we got there, all of which had their food besides one. We accepted that this was not what we wanted, but ordered the fish and chips anyway, all three of us did to make it easy. We were kind and understanding to the waitress, who seemed very stressed. After we ordered, others at another table were ordering non fried foods, because apparently, the cook okayed this for them. They continued to seat people that came in, even though they were too busy to make anything but fried food and were obviously not able to provide decent service. The whole thing was odd. The manager was at the register, did not once help the waitress, cook, or dishwasher. The fish and chips were not cooked all the way through and had large greyish pieces inside. Nobody came back to check on us, only one of us was brave enough to eat it, he paid the price later.... If you know what I mean. I'd warn you to stay far far away. This place should not be in business and should not probably have the health department stop by for a visit. read more

This was a late night dinner stop on the way from Klamath Falls to Bend. I ordered the fried liver entrée off the menu and did not regret that for a moment. The batter was subtle, the liver was not overfried (the liver is served pork chop style, in thinner chops fried on both sides with no char but definitely cooked all the way through). The side of potato salad had great bacon bits in it, lending it a smoky country style flavor and changing up the salad's texture in a good way. Quick service, delicious food, large portions. It was the PERFECT stop on our way down the mountain from a weekend of camping and snowboarding. 4 kids and 5 adults and everything was exactly as we ordered and so fast. The diner is a truck stop so a great spot for us to get gas, near a train track so of course the kids had a great time eating and counting train cars. 10/10 would recommend!!! read more

I came here last year multiple times and was pleased but my last time i had the server linda and she was extremely unprofessional and quite frankly racist and acted disgusting. Gordys was awful tonight . The waitress was nice , but that's about all I can say . The 14.00 Chef Salad was more then could be desired . Half the size it usually is . The lettuce was on its way out . Half the ingredients missing . Waitress tried to add somethings on it , but by that time , dinner was ruined . We had onion rings . They are usually good , but the onion inside was Luke warm and the beer batter soaked in grease . Just not a good night at all . If I were the cook , I would have been embarrassed to send the food out . The lady who checked us out was making every excuse she could . We won't be going there very soon again . If this is the place where long haul truckers go for a little human comfort and interaction, it is a tragedy. We were greeted as we entered the building by someone shrieking from our left that they were out of iced tea. The woman who seated us was friendly enough, but as it turned out that was because she was off the clock. Her replacement ambled over and took my order even though I told her my husband was in the bathroom. She promptly interrupted me when I was giving my order to inform me they were out of salad kits. (So you can't tear lettuce used for sandwiches and add a tomato? ) Ok. Fine. So I ordered mozzarella sticks and a cheeseburger. She ambled off but I hear the cook telling her they're out of mozzarella sticks. Figures. So. We are eating. There is a family in the middle of the dreary room. Between all 8 of them they had maybe three teeth. The daughter gets up and goes to the counter and helps herself to a to go container. Oh...didnt I mention the restaurant has nothing hidden from the customers? All the prep stations.. wide open. The stocking shelves? Open. I will always park my rig at Gordy's and stop in for a hot meal and some pie or a brownie the size of my face! TRUCKERS (like myself) love this place and it's home cookin'. I always love their salad because it had beets in it and you can't beat beets! I usually get a grilled cheese everytime I come here (they are always perfect), but for review sake i decided to branch out. I got the hot Turkey dinner with salad, mash taters, stuffing, and corn. Everything was as it should be, comforting and delicious! So close to Thanksgiving I've already had my fill! The staff is always friendly and on their toes. Who is in charge of running this place??? The food is decent probably on the higher end for a truck stop, the staff is friendly enough. But if you're not from around these parts you should probably get in and get out. And don't even think about gambling in the poker room. Unless you want to experience your first police raid or possibly buy some meth. Also the staff has not been trained or even has access to the poker machines if any sort of issue arises. But if you're just stopping for food id might give it an extra star. But it's apparent the owners of this business have utterly no concern for the local community and as a restaurateur myself that completely sickens me.
