Stopped by after seeing this business listing pop up during my search for nearby-ish meat market…read more Wild Forks sells ONLY frozen products and we picked up some marinated sirloin, bavette steak and bacon rounds. I had initially wanted to try their beef chuck ribs but it did not look as good as it did on their website so I passed on it. Instead, I settled on the marinated sirloin that the Wild Fork food truck outside was offering as a free sample, as these were so yummy. We are usually not big sirloin fans but their samples were THAT good that we ended up buying the exact product we sampled. I am not sure if the food truck is there all the time but when we visited on a Saturday afternoon, the Wild Fork food truck was parked in front of the store in the parking lot, offering generous amount of free samples of their product. When we went, they were offering the marinated sirloin and pulled pork, both of which were delicious! I would also like to commend them for keeping their store impeccably clean, including the washrooms for their shoppers. It was refreshing to see a store like this that offers washrooms for their shoppers and keep it spa level clean. Thank you! Our first visit was such a pleasant one and I can't wait to try out more of their product soon!

We then purchased some steaks ourselves and are thrilled with the flavour and tenderness. They also stock some unique grocery items. Well worth the drive and we will be going back!

As a first-time customer (an avid foodie!), I was happily surprised on my first visit to see such a wide variety of meats and offerings. Upon selecting three striploins at the meat counter, I proceeded to take in the culinary delights the rest of the store had to offer. A glass cabinet of prepared sausage rolls and steak pies (among other things) caught my eye. With my smartphone in hand, I attempted to take a photo of the pies with hopes of sharing my tasty discovery with friends. "What are we doing?!" yelled a voice. Not realizing that the question was intended for me, I carried on with my task of capturing the beautiful steak pies. Again, the same question but this time even louder. "What are we doing?! What are you doing sir?!" This time I realized the man was directing his communication at me. I explained that I was simply trying to take a photo of the pies. "Not without my permission," he replied. Shocked and humiliated I adhered to his request and headed to the cash register to pay for my steaks (and a rub!). Upon suggesting that a sign should be put up to let guests know that photos are not permitted, the cashier replied, "It's not that photos are not allowed, just ask and I'm sure he'd let you." I appreciate that the shop is a privately owned business with its own set of rules and policies. However, speaking to your customers in that manner is unacceptable and unprofessional. There's no doubt that the entire store, with its employees and other guests, were able to clearly hear the exchange between me and the man. Not only was I offended, I felt humiliated and belittled. I would recommend that the store consider putting up a sign regarding their policy on photography inside the shop so clients are aware of what's appropriate. The steaks were actually quite tasty but unfortunately due to my horrible experience, I would never shop there again and support a business that treats their clients in such a foul manner.

When I walk into Bruno's, I see a clean and organized deli/butcher, with knowledgeable staff and skilled butchers. Bruno's has an open concept, so you can actually look through a window and watch them chop up your meat. When I walk in, I also see dry-aged prime rib in a special dry-aging compartment. Once I asked about the price, and the reply was, "Do you REALLY want to know??" Ok, fair enough, I was wearing my everyday clothes and probably looked like I couldn't even afford a sausage. I'll get my husband to go in there, on his way home from work, and see if he can buy a single rib Dry Aged Prime Rib for me to prepare for a Mother's Day gift. Meanwhile, I bought something more economical ....but still kind of luxe. I bought an entire striploin on sale. The price was actually only $1 more than No Frills, and I got 12 steaks!! That will certainly last us a while. After laying 3 aside for our evening meal, I tossed the rest in the freezer. That steak is so great, just butter-basted in a skillet with your favourite aromatics. Despite my above anecdote, Bruno's is not a stuck-up or snobby place at all, but just your neighbourhood butcher. And, if you keep an eye on their specials, it is not to pricey at all. However, you can spend a fortune if you aren't aware of reasonable pricing. As grocery store food prices soar upward, Bruno's prices seem to remain relatively static, in a good way, so that it is worth my money to check it out, especially when they have deals or sales. This is your perfect, neighborhood butcher!
