    Branzino

When it's *this* hot out, all I want are 'summer light' bites Luckily A Tavola in Winchester fits the bill! What I love is that everything was so fresh and the menu is everchanging; the night I dined there, Chef Joe spoke highly of the fisherman he got the branzino from and the farmers market he got some of the produce used in that night's dishes from. Some of the dishes I was able to taste (& my phone ate first) were: * Beet Salad - horseradish crema, cucumbers, whole grain vin * Branzino - blistered shishitos, shaved artichoke salsa verde * Halibut - olive oil poached herloom tomatoes, basil, oregano & garlic * Strawberry Shortcake - vanilla white cake, fresh and macerated strawberries, cream cheese whip * Blueberry Ricotta Cake - ricotta, blueberry glaze All of these dishes were complimented by my two craft beers - Bent Water Brewing's Premium Lager on Draft and Lone Pine Brewing's Summer Lights Citrus Wheat Ale. A Tavola, like their food menu, has a rotating beer & cider menu featuring new brews from New England craft breweries and cideries. Incredible food in a warm, intimate space featuring an open kitchen, newly opened expansion and a patio space to take advantage of this beautiful weather! A neighborhood restaurant that is truly invested in the community through collaborations, giving back and even partnering with the local elementary school to run a Seed to plate program to educate children about how to harvest ta garden and turn it's bounty into food for the table - a true seed to plate full circle! They also offer cooking classes, wine dinners, BBQ & Bourbon Dinners so keep an eye on their Instagram and website for upcoming events!

The food was absolutely fantastic. Came with my friend who said the Lamb Osso Bucco was one of the best lamb dishes he has ever had. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara and was very satisfied. The portions were great and all the food including the bread was amazing. The bread is made fresh so that was a major plus. The service is amazing. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He was helpful recommending dishes and cocktails and gave his honest opinions. It's a small place and definitely has a romantic vibe. We didn't get to sit at the chefs table but that looks like a fun experience for the next visit. Would highly recommend for a nice dinner out in Winchester.

I have been going here for a few years now and each time I am reminded how absolutely incredible this spot is. The owner gets his ingredients from a local farmers market and it shows. The food is fresh and flavorful and put together with care and love. You can't go wrong with anything you order. They recently expanded to a bigger space but were still able to keep the cozy vibe. They also have an outdoor area for those who want to enjoy the weather. You have to check this place out at least once! You will definitely want to go back time and time again

Our 5 year anniversary of meeting! Returning to A Tavola shortly!

This is the restaurant I first took my son Edmund after meeting him for the first time 5 years ago! Will never ever be more nostalgic. Take him here and Olive Garden every year to remember the first time we met. love this place!

We got a bunch if appetizers - started with the calamari which just has such a good flavor with the marinara and cherry pepper rings in it, then the crab rangoon dip which was okay but not my favorite, the portion was really small with a ton of a chips but no dip. We also got the crispy green beans which are exactly what you expect, I do wish they had a bit more seasoning because I don't love the wasabi dipping sauce they come with. We then got the jalapeno and bacon wrapped scallops, as well as the seared pork gyozas which are by far the best appetizer on the menu - the chili slaw it lays on has the most insane flavor and the crispy outside of the gyoza is just to die for. We all got various meals but me and a friend split the hot honey salmon sushi roll and the umami veggie sushi roll - both were amazing!! I will always get the umami, as basic as it is the flavor is just unreal. Only negative thing I have to say is that the service was very very slow, for a Monday night at 7pm, it was busy but not busy enough to not be greeted at the table for 25 minutes, then wait for drinks for 20 minutes and then not get to put our order in until an hour of sitting at the table, so that was a bit disappointing but first time we have had this issue.

The prices seem to be going up at an alarmingly fast rate, but the quality has not. Additionally, we've always been ones to avoid suburban steak houses, feeling they're not as good as their city counterparts. Well, Eddy Vs has proved us wrong in that way of thinking. We've come here twice now in recent months, both on Saturday nights, and the place was full on packed both times. We were able to grab bar seating each time and have had two amazing experiences. First off, the service is second to none. Second, they have a "happy hour" menu that pretty much runs all night with $9 glasses of good wine, $10 cocktails, and discount apps. But the most important win is the food. Everything we've tried has been absolute top notch, prepared to perfection, from the steak tartare, to the lamb lollipops, to the filet mignon. (Typically consist of steamers, lobster, a baked potato and some corn on the cob if you're lucky). My husband found Turner's while doing a search for a place that would come close to giving me what I was looking for, and they delivered! We started off with the steamers. They're to die for... so tender, no sand in the bellies, and the broth? OOH the broth. It's delectable. It adds flavor that complements the clams perfectly (doesn't overwhelm them at all). My hard shell lobster was incredibly delicious. I'm usually a soft shell gal, but I will take whatever is offered - as long as the meat isn't tough, I'm fine to do the extra work. (It's part of the fun). The tail was split, which is helpful for people who don't know their way around a lobster- for me, I'd prefer it whole, so that's the only (extremely small!) thing I'd change next time. My baked potato and carrots were tasty and the waitress was attentive, kind, and she also had a sense of humor. My husband and I had an awesome evening, and we will be back!
