My mom enjoyed the banana pecan waffles, and I took a couple bites as well. It was sinfully sweet and enjoyable, especially the bananas. And I must say the coffee was so good, it was even better than the Juan Valdez coffee that I make at home. Since I didn't visit the restaurant, I can't comment on the atmosphere. The bartender encouraged us to sit in her section but we wanted a booth and not a high top. When we went to sit, the bench was still wet from being wiped down. We asked to try some wines and they brought us tastes in small shot glasses rather than wine glasses and the sparkling rose was a bit warm. When my friend got her wine glass, she noticed there were lipstick stains on it and luckily the severer was quick to get it replaced when we pointed it out. My cocktail was overly strong. The food portions were pretty large though some of the dishes lacked salt. The server made some good recommendations and our favorite dishes were the chicken piccata and the peanut butter cake. The beignets themselves were good but we didn't love the sauces. I would give it another try but wouldn't rush back.
