Not to be confused with Napoli Italian Pizzeria over on S. Semoran Blvd, I am seriously impressed with this hole in the wall joint over near the Neighborhood Wal-Mart shopping plaza. And not to be confused with another pizza joint that occupies that same plaza, but Napoli is the real deal when it comes to New York style pizza. I find myself in this area of town about once a month, and almost always, I get some takeout food from a place in this area. For some reason, I shied away from the pizza places in this area because my ignorant self thought, "How good could a pizzeria be in a friggin' Wal-Mart place?" Shame on me. I was wrong. Napoli is a small hole in the wall place which is usually a first indication that they're great, and it certainly applies here. It's a bit confusing to find since there is another pizza joint in the same plaza, but don't let that defer you from checking them out. It's a small location, but they do have room for indoor dining. And this being in a shopping plaza, there are plenty of places to park. Whenever I try a new pizza joint, I always play it on the safe side and go with a standard cheese pizza. I mean, if you can't get a cheese pizza right, that doesn't give me much faith to try the specialty pizzas. Fortunately, Napoli's gets it. I ordered a cheese pizza and from the very first bite, I could tell that Napoli's knows what they're doing. Their pizza has just the right amount of tasty sauce, crust that is cooked at the perfect temperature, and a little of pizza grease that brings out the best in New York style pies. Their prices are pretty similar to other Orlando pizza joints, and that's not a bad thing at all. $12 for a pizza that will last a single person for a few days is an awesome deal. The staff are super friendly. According to their website, it is family owned, and it certainly shows. When I picked up my pizza, I was greeted with the same amount of warmth I got from my Italian extended family. I can't wait to check out their other offerings. If a standard cheese pizza is this good, their specialty pizzas and Italian dinners look very promising. I've never been able to eat a whole 12 inch. The Philly cheesesteak isn't quite comparable to those I had on my last trip up north, but definitely hits the spot as well. Pizza-wise, the Bianca pie with its decadent bites of ricotta and the bbq chicken got rave reviews from my staff. Today is my second time ordering pasta - I picked just a simple spaghetti with meat sauce. Last time I had leftovers to take for lunch the next day, and that was after I had it for dinner AND my 18 year old son sampled. (His idea of a "sample" involved a plate, btw, it wasn't just a bite). The pasta dinners come with garlic knots and a salad. It's not just a sad lettuce and tomato "salad" either, there are black olives, onions and banana peppers in there also. If you must be American and order ranch, just know that you are missing out on an amazing savory and herby Italian dressing that I would love to be able to order by the bottle. Had the pizza been fresh I'm sure it would have been some of the best pizza in the area, however we managed to hit some gnarly traffic due to the road being blocked from an accident and I informed the restaurant that we would be running late and had a concern for how fresh the pie would be due to the delay. The woman insisted it would be. We picked up the pizza and drove home (under 10min) and the pie itself was rock hard around the crust due to the pie sitting on the oven, and not being remade. I called the woman who we purchased the pie from and she proceeded to be very argumentative and defensive when I explained to her that the food was not fresh and should have been remade fresh due to the traffic delay and communication. She insisted I was insulting her and commented on how it was an issue how many times I called the establishment, to make them aware of our delay, which we did out or courtesy. I ordered from this restaurant online. Simple order. Wings and fries. The order went through, then said it was processed, even said it was out for delivery. Then the delivery time changed. And changed again. Finally, nearly 1.5 hours after ordering, I call the restaurant and the message says we're closed for a private event. Was my order ever processed or was my money just taken? There was no way to communicate with them, and some sort of automated function on the website was making up the status of my order until it was too late to cancel and order from elsewhere. Guess I'll never know about their food. The service and communication is nonexistent. I ordered a calzone with pepperoni and sausage, a steak and cheese wrap w/ fries and a appetizer sampler from this place today. For one, it took close to 1 1/2 hours for it to be delivered. The person on the phone told me 45-60 minutes. When it got to us, what I can only explain is grease by the bucket load. The calzone, albeit is supposed to be greasy. I understand that, but the amount of grease coming out of this monstrosity was far too much. I couldn't eat it, it was that bad. The steak and cheese wrap was just about as bad and when delivered, the wrap its self was so soggy that it was inedible. The fries were soggy and wet for waiting as long as they did. I called this place to complain and to ask for my money back and was denied. The person on the phone was confrontational and rude. She even tried to explain to me that MOZZARELLA CHEESE was the reason for all the grease and then HUNG UP ON ME. I will never go back to this place again. I am considering filing a dispute against this place with my bank for fraud. This place is the most vial establishment I have ever had to deal with. I specifically said in the special instructions section make wings plain and put sauce on the side because my 11 year old daughter will not eat wings with sauce on them and there is not a option to order just plain wings. I am a big fan of their garlic bread with cheese. Not only is it tasty, but they give you a much larger portion of it than most other places. It is almost a double order of cheese bread for like $3.00. Awesome. The pizza is what I would describe "good not great." The toppings are pretty traditional here. The crust is perhaps a tad on the flimsy side for my tastes. I like it to be floppy enough to fold, but firm enough to not fall apart simply by being lifted up. The pizza is horrible, tons of flour everywhere really too much, taste like gum. the owner/pizza maker (old guy) has also a bad sarcasm, ask him if he was Italian and is answer for 3 different times was:"no i am chinese". The crust actually was not bad but the liquid from all the preserved vegetables turned it into a soggy mess. After I wiped off most of the vegetables it was edible. I dove right into a pool of grease with this pizza. My husband and I ate here after seeing this place listed as a top pizza joint in Orlando. Maybe the rankings are made based on NY pizza standards, and I hate NY sty pizza, but this pizza was not worth the extra drive. We ordered the garlic knots, which were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, probably the best part of the meal. The marinara sauce, however, was oily and wouldn't stick to the knots when you dipped them in the sauce. I had a slice of pepperoni pizza, which came complimentary with an extra inch of grease. Nothing special to make this stand out, except that I couldn't put my slice back down on the plate because of how much grease had settled onto the plate.
