Rove Cafe & Kitchen opened recently in Peru, formerly Green Acres Restaurant…read more The place is cozy and casual which has table seating and counter seating (5 high seats). They serve all day homestyle breakfast and lunch. The breakfast menu offerings include egg dishes, bennies, omelets, pancakes French toast, Belgian waffles, hash, and breakfast sides. The lunch offerings include sandwich plates, burgers, fish & chips, quesadilla, and big salads. The prices here seem reasonable. I stopped by Rove Cafe just after 1pm when the busy period was slowing down. I walk in and I could sit at anywhere I wanted to. I sat at a table near the counter and the server promptly arrived with a menu and took my drink order (ice water). I was trying to decide between the fish & chips, mixed berries French toast (a popular item) or the country fried steak with 2 eggs. I went with the latter and it was served to me in about 12 minutes. The big plate of food had soft scrambled eggs, grilled country potatoes, a buttery toasted English muffin (Smuckers jams at table), and a Large homemade lightly breaded & pounded thin grilled beefsteak smothered with a thick sausage gravy. This breakfast was so good and very filling. As I was finishing my food, the check was presented which was $14.58 with tax and before tip. Overall, a wonderful big breakfast plate and prompt service. I would definitely recommend if you happening to be passing through the Plattsburgh area.

This place shows as open, but you arrive, and the place is shut up tight. No one answers the phone.read more

All their pancakes are amazing, even though with my sodium issue I only get a taste of my husband's. My ole favorites were Pumpkin and their classic Sugar & Spice with the perfect amount of sweetness and spice mix. I wish they would serve saltless grits! That would make this girl happy! I only eat a couple of the potatoes, they are very tasty however salt is used or the rest of you wouldn't be eating them....am I right! Of course, my eggs were cooked perfectly! I keep forgetting you have ice cream! They also have many local theme items for sale and don't forget to not head home with Vermont's local Maple Syrup! If you came in March you will get to see the sap being processed into syrup!

I've been coming to Killington for years in the summer. We most often eat at the Backcountry Cafe,…read morewhich is a good large hearty (but not heart healthy) breakfast restaurant. We finally decided to try out S&S and I found it good, but not worth the 5 stars everyone gives it pancakes = well cooked, round, pretty standard. don't get 4 pancakes unless you want be in a pancake induced coma. also, they put a literal small ice cream scoop size of butter on the pancakes. Only IHOP does that and it's way too much butter. If you are eating all of that butter, you might need an extra dose of lipitor. Toast = kind of boring S&S pancakes = kind of tasted like pancakes with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Home fries = those were good I was there with two 16-year olds who both thought the food was "mid". I did see a small girl sitting with plate in front of her that had a waffle with ice cream and whipped cream piled so high, that it was almost as tall as her. Her eyes were huge and she was trying to figure out where to start. That waffle looked pretty good and as I passed the table, her dad was leaning in to "help out and keep the plate clean". They sell a lot of baseball hats and t-shirts.

I live in New Hampshire and my boyfriend is in New York, so I've been driving this way a lot lately…read moreand found Wally's Place when searching for coffee to get me through the long drive one morning. As soon as I walked in I could tell I had stumbled upon a great spot! The ambiance is very quirky cute, and the space is well kept and well organized. The line was long but moving quickly- staff seem great at keeping orders moving while still being friendly and not making folks feel rushed. Prices were reasonable enough to make me do a double take. I'd expect to be paying more for food of this quality, but I'm certainly not complaining! I also bought more because everything was well priced and delicious. The first time I stopped in, I got the non typical turkey (not pictured here but equally photogenic and mouth watering) and bought some of the bagels to take home. The sandwich was outrageously yummy, and my kids devoured the bag of bagels in two days. Welp, that sandwich was living rent free in my head for the whole next month... so you know the next time I was driving by, I had to swing through with my two boys. This time I got the islander on a honey sriracha cheddar bagel that was out of this world. I've yet to try any of the sweet bakery treats but I'm eyeing those next. This is definitely the best food spot I've found for my 4.5 hour trek between NH & NY. Sandwiches pair perfectly with a coffee, a podcast, open windows and some nice sunny weather. I'll be back soon!

Homies behind the country run a smooth operation. No matter if you get a bag of bagels and in-house made cream cheese to go, or you get one of their steak and egg sandwiches all dressed up... you will be blessed. The overpriced artwork for sale on the wall is too niche for me if your into that they have it. Wooden atmosphere, friendly staff, and the tasty smell from the kitchen earn this place a 4/5. Much love, stay clean.
