Homemade corned beef hash, over-easy eggs, wheat toast.

Decided to sleep in this morning but still needed a good breakfast to get our day started. After a short 15 minute wait we were seated and directed to the self-serve coffee bar. I was glad to find they had oat milk (upon request) a few different coffees to choose from. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Lots of breakfast options available - both sweet and savory. I had homemade corned beef hash with over-easy eggs and wheat toast made in house. Hubby had a scramble with spicy chorizo and peppers. Everything was excellent! There is a lot of seating for a small restaurant so it speaks to their popularity that there is always a wait to get a table. Definitely add Blue Moon Cafe to your list when visiting Saranac Lake.

Tasty food, but a bit pricey for what you get. Casual, friendly service. Hometown diner feel. Ordered the Irish scramble and it was fine, mostly tasted of the cheese it was smothered in. The star of the meal was the homemade English muffin. Definitely get that as your breakfast bread!

Must stop in Saranac Lake for a fantastic breakfast. They make their own breads. I had the corned beef hash with to Sunnyside up eggs and a homemade English muffin. It was delicious. My wife, a picky eater, had the McKenzie, substituting bacon for red onion. She raved about it. Our server was awesome and very informative. The ambiance is quaint.

The coffee bar is a great feature. The breakfast was very tasty. They accommodated my food allergies so I could enjoy while my husband had the pancakes he had been craving. The staff were friendly and inviting. There are several fall morning cocktails to choose from.

Great corned beef hash, rye bread was so yummy ... lattes not worth it (coffee tasted bitter). Some servers were so rude when asking for juice for a kid

Welcome welcome welcome! Staff greets you with a genuine smile and tells you to help yourself to the coffee station. Delicious coffee.. btw. Came here for breakfast and discovered a great new place to visit while in Saranac! Do not miss the homemade breads! The rye was amazing!

Happy Thursday Adventurers! This was my first time in the Adirondack's and this place was so cute! Since it was the week before Ice Palace festival at Saranac Lake this place was hopping! Luckily as a solo traveler I found a spot right at the bar. The first time I was there I ordered the Carnival Breakfast Bowl that was on special. It was sautéed potatoes in a tortilla bowl, with chili, and your style eggs on top. This was so delicious I plan to recreate it at home. The chili was mild and surprised me because it had chunks of pork, not ground beef. So so good! I highly recommend trying this. I also ordered a cup or chowder because I love soup, but it was also like minus 2 out, so I needed to warm up. Of course with it being my birthday week I ordered a mimosa---why the heck not?! They have coffee that's self serve which, honestly is really unique and so much easier thank having to wait for a refill. They have two bars, one upfront that's like a homey diner bar, and the back is more like a bar bar(I think they offer live bands on warmer days and weekends ?). Both have liquor but the vibe is so different. I wish I could have gotten a seat in the front table because it was still snowing, so when you look out you felt like it was a winter wonderland. The second time I was there I ordered that corned beef and hash, as well as the B.O.B (thanksgiving on a bagel) and tomato soup. Dude this sandwich was legit thanksgiving in your mouth, though the bagel was pretty hard but I think this was just the type of bagel. I really enjoyed the soup---a perfect blend of slightly sweet, no acidity, and creamy tomato taste. The corned beef and hash was so good, reminded me of m childhood. So glad I split and brought the rest home for my trip back. This place reminds me of Gilmore Girls location extra which feels like home. The walls are adorned with photography from I think local artists. I recommended this spot, but get there early and be patient, the entire staff was so friendly.

Very good food. I got the scottsman benny and it was outstanding. Service was good. Only thing is that you have to get your own coffee. I also got the corned beef hash. Always like a place that makes it homemade. Bacon is nice large thick cut. Ill def be back here when im in the area

This was such an unexpected treat!…read more Walking around Lake Placid, we bumped into a couple who wound up suggesting a couple of restaurants for us to check out. Cavu was at the top of their list! And with their description of planes taking off and landing nearby, we thought it would be the perfect spot to bring our toddler. To access the restaurant, you have to walk into the airport. I've never been in such a tiny airport before! The cafe space overlooks the tarmac, but we were a little bummed that we only saw one plane takeoff while we were eating. We aren't locals and assumed there would be more! But that wasn't an issue. Plus, once my toddler started to get fussy, the staff whipped out a coloring book and some crayons. It was so so kind of them and nice that they were prepared. The food was excellent as well. My husband got the hash and eggs and was very pleased with the big hunks of corned beef throughout the hash. I tried his homefries and they were also delicious! I got the apple stuffed french toast to share with my toddler. It was perfect. We also got a side of maple cream, which I still dream of. Will definitely come back on our next trip to the area.

My dinner experience there certainly lived up to expectations. The restaurant is small, seating maybe about 30 people. I wouldn't call it intimate, but I would call it friendly. The menu items are enjoyably named, with some interesting ingredient and flavor combinations. Service is fast and friendly; 3 servers can take care of all the tables quite nicely, with time for fun conversation as you go. The cocktail list is small, and the drinks are simply garnished, but everything we tried was quite flavorful and reasonably priced. As an appetizer, the Moo Moo Dippers, filled with shaved ribeye and corned beef and combined with the remoulade sauce for dipping. were addicting. My salmon filet came atop a bed of roasted sweet potato and corn hash and a sauce on top to give it more interesting presentation and flavor. The pork medallions were similarly appealing. We passed on dessert, because most of the offerings had some form of caffeine in them (e.g., boozy affogato), but I'm certain they would have been equally delicious. I was surprised the restaurant closed so early on days they're actually open, i.e., 8pm. So if you want convenient dining, get there early for dinner, because it does fill up.

The restaurant wasn't crowded, but there were enough guests to give it a nice atmosphere. It felt comfortable, relaxed, and not noisy at all. My older child had the Labrador and finished the entire pizza by himself, while my younger child ordered the Authentic with pepperoni and really enjoyed it. My wife ordered the fish of the day, and I chose the scallop special. Overall, the food was very good, the service was pleasant, and the waterfront setting made for an enjoyable dining experience. All of the staff we interacted with were great and friendly. Our family from this area raved about their poutine, but a recent menu change got rid of it. Despite that they had a variety of starters/apps, sandwiches, pizzas, steaks, plus other entrees including some specials on a separate little menu. Included on that was two cocktails that we tried, I had two of their Strawberry Rhubarb Collins that was light and easy to drink with just enough strawberry and rhubarb flavor. My wife had their special sangria which had tons of flavor. Both fantastic drinks! As a group we split some pretzel sticks as well as some bang bang shrimp. With both being great bites before our meals with the beer cheese and mustard for the pretzels along with the shrimp sweet chili aioli being perfect dips. Lastly for the main event my wife and I were on the same wavelength and got their Vodka Chicken Parm, that originally was to come on top rice pilaf but both substituted for house made pasta. Everything from the vodka sauce, to the house made pasta, to the chicken were fantastic! Would gladly get it again. If we lived around here I would picture this being a regular stop for us! Friendly and welcoming staff with well made drinks and delicious food! Give it a try!
