Capisce is such a cute coffee shop. I love the look, ambiance, and decor inside. It is small so be mindful of busy hours as I can see it getting crowded easily. The employees were friendly, and our stuff came out fast. I got an iced latte with maple syrup and soy milk, my boyfriend got a salted caramel iced latte with vanilla cold foam, and my friend got a drip coffee. The coffee was so good! The only reason I'm not leaving 5 stars is because my friend got the savory cheese twist and it tasted stale, dry and not like cheese :( but the quiche was very good he said. Fantastic coffee in a cozy atmosphere! I visited on a Saturday morning and within 5 minutes of getting in the short line, the place was absolutely packed. Since it's fall, I wanted to try their Pumpkin Latte, which was delicious. You could tell the syrup was homemade and it was not overly sweet. I also tried their yogurt bowl, which was in a plastic cup in their to-go fridge. It had fruit, coconut yogurt and granola. It definitely hit the spot! Definitely a great coffee option in the north country. It does get pretty busy though. There are several tables inside and lots of tables outside too. read more

So glad I found this wonderful coffee bar and Cafe. The inside decor and outside seating areas are a wonderful mix of new and vintage with fresh flowers all around. The employees were very friendly and helpful as I tried to find just the right drink. I love finding something new and the first drink I had was the "Sunny and Cher"....mango, matcha and oat milk served cold. What an interesting flavored drink and I could tell immediately it was not mango syrup, it tasted like a puree of mango. It wasn't super sweet and I needed a bit of sweetness for my taste so I added just a bit and it was perfect for me. The fresh brewed coffee was also excellent...full bodied and very rich tasting. The food was mediocre and the prices were way too high. Origins Coffee was better and more affordable.

It has a very appealing little set up inside. It's a woman owned business which I love to see beings I have three girls. The workers are extremely friendly and very engaging as soon as you walk in the door. The cold brew is delicious and the food was great. It's very pricey as compared to quantity but that's expected in Lake Placid. Definitely recommend stopping here for a coffee or a snack. read more

This place is a vibe!! Absolutely worth a stop in here. Maria(and everyone in the shop) makes you feel welcome from the moment you step in the door. The coffee was delicious(next time we'll need to try the food and a treat too, it all looked delicious we unfortunately had just eaten!) They ask if you want your drinks to go(plastic cup) or to stay(the cutest glass can with a reusable straw!) We didn't need to use them...but there's uncooked spaghetti as for a coffee stirrer, so environmentally conscious, and clever. There's plenty of seating options both inside and outside and each table had a tiny flower jar. I got the coffee of the week, a blackberry mocha, iced. It was delicious! The blackberry flavor was subtle and not fake-tasting. Excellent coffee. I also love how much they prioritize sustainability. Instead of wooden stirrers they use uncooked pasta, and then use biodegradable straws and utensils. I always get a Caramel Cold Brew with cream and light ice, this one was at the top taste wise. Service was also great, very kind and quick turnaround time. Not good. 4/10 We placed a to go order. The sandwiches were supposed to come on croissants but it was given to us on white bread. The "power greens blend" was one basil leaf. Barely any cheese. Eggs were freshly cracked, at least. Would not get again. We would have appreciated it if someone contacted us if some ingredients weren't available, as we left our contact information with the pick up. What a welcome treat to have Capisce Coffee here in Lake Placid. My sister-in-law invited us to check out the "new coffee place" the first week it opened. It's so fabulous. The building is gorgeous, there is outdoor seating in warmer weather, and the shop has a big, open parking lot, which makes getting in for coffee super easy. There is local art on the walls, cute gifts for people looking, and gorgeous high vaulted ceilings. The coffee is amazing, so is the chai, and their desserts are fabulous. I haven't had the sandwiches yet, buy my sister-in-law swears they are unbeatable. The best part? They have great hours. They were open until 5 pm on a Saturday, which was so great because I was crashing and needed a pick me up (these are late hours here in LP). The space is bright yet cozy, there are plants around, cool seating, and a HUGE Adirondack chair out front. We love it here. Get thee to Capisce! read more
