This quickly became our go to bagel shop in town. Soulshine always has a line in the AM for good reason: really well made bagels, especially for Upstate! Not best of NYC-level mind you, but plenty good enough to scratch your breakfast itch. Options are good, although they do run out of options occasionally as they are the ones baking them. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Some seats at the front and outside, but most people take it out. Prices are very reasonable. I liked the cinnamon raisin best, although graham cracker was good too. My son liked the plain best and insisted on getting it every morning. My wife liked the spinach egg and cheese, although I stuck to the maple cream cheese which was excellent. Coffee is very good, with pour your own for basic stuff and they also know how to make a great red eye over ice. Will be back in Lake Placid, and will be coming back here! read more

Solid bagel spot, came here a few times over a week. Bagels were fresh and the breakfast sandwiches were great. Had an asiago bagel with scallion cream cheese one morning and it was so good. A little expensive for a bagel place, but its the only show in town. read more

I came in for a breakfast bagel on weekday morning... they were pretty busy, but I was in and out within 10 mins. I ordered an egg and cheese on onion bagel and it was EXCELLENT!! Make sure you double check your sandwiches before leaving , they have messed up a bunch of times. And, each time, they never apologize. Today I left the store and had to drive back because they messed up the sandwiches, once again. It wasn't confusing, just two egg sandwiches. The look I got from the staff when I returned was pretty awful, like I did something wrong for kindly asking for them to make what I ordered. Never once an apology any time they make mistakes. I wasn't rude or making a big deal, but the arrogance is nuts. It goes such a long way when you hear "I'm sorry" from a staff member. This was my second visit to Soulshine Bagel, and I was a bit let down. I had high hopes that in the year I had not been there they would've somehow added vegan cream cheese to their menu...they did not. Soulshine Bagel is located on the main street of downtown Lake Placid and good for a quick bite. It has limited indoor seating and a bit of a tight squeeze - typical of a bagel place. We are here the last week of August 2025. We were very excited to try their bagels for our morning walk around Mirror Lake. To great disappointment we anticipated them having a good variety of bagels to choose from but they only had 3. The choices were onion, plain, everything bagels. So we tried the New Yorker on a plain bagel, a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese and an everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. The New Yorker was the best one. We did not go back during our stay due to the lack of variety. It's worth trying to see if they offer more the days you are there. Service was good- they did not speak English very well but tried. These bagels were beyond amazing! My husband and I were in town for a conference and found them gem! It didn't disappoint! We ordered two breakfast sandwiches and two iced coffees and they have almond and oat milk! We had the bacon, egg, and cheese on a graham cracker bagel and the Lox Bagel. They were both delicious and so fresh! The iced coffees were equally tasty and the overall value was quite reasonable considering the homemade component of the bagels. They were very friendly, super fast, and had a pretty large menu to choose from. Very cute little shop with a little window bar with seating for three, but standing room only. We will definitely stop in this little shop every time we pass through Lake Placid, for sure! read more

We stopped here strolling through the town of Lake Placid and enjoyed a lox bagel and a bagel with cream cheese and avocado. Yummy bagels and decent coffee. You can tell this is a shop frequented by locals. I got a bacon egg and cheese and a Asiago bagel with plain cream cheese. Both were very good. Staff was friendly and was nice to us (you could tell we were tourist lol!). Like any decent bagel shop, the place is super tiny and only has like 3 bar seats by the window. I would suggest getting it to go and eating somewhere else, but def a good breakfast option for a stop/go before hitting the slopes. read more

I stopped in here two days in a row due to not being familiar with the area and needing a morning caffeine boost. This place advertises their gluten free bagels, however were out of them both visits. On the second day when I asked if they had gluten free bagels, the worker replied, "not today" and I'm not really sure what that means but I am guessing they just did not make them. Both days they were also out of yogurt and multiple coffee flavorings, and possibly more. Both times we went very early so it seems like they simply did not stock up for the days instead of running out. The iced lattes they offer are very milky as well which I didn't like - very little coffee flavor. I did enjoy the blackberry coffee flavoring though. The cashier was also friendly, unlike the other workers. Many other customers I overheard also did not get their first order due to it not being available. read more

Stopped in for lunch and got a veggie bagel, coffee cake, and coffee. I was a little disappointed that when I got there around 12:30 the selection of bagels was pretty limited compared to what their menu advertises (I wasn't counting, but there were probably about 6 options left) and they were all pretty standard with the exception of the rainbow. They were very busy at lunch time and because the standing room in the shop is so narrow the movement of the line is a little confusing - the ordering counter for bagels is at the far end, so you have to go there first and line up, then after you order you have to go back towards the front to line up for the cashier where you can also order drinks and other snacks. Coffee and tea are self-serve. The wait was pretty long, but they were getting a lot of traffic and only had one person making bagels and another at the register. The person who took my bagel order seemed a little impatient with the questions I had but the cashier was super sweet. My sandwich was great! The bagel (asiago) was pretty big and they packed the veggies in there so you can definitely get a filling meal out of just a bagel sandwich. Everything was fresh and the texture and flavour of the bagel were spot-on. Coffee cake was good too, again a huge portion and nice flavour. If I'd gone with someone else I would've split a dessert with them since all of their desserts were huge. My coffee (decaf) was also lovely. Definitely recommend visiting for breakfast or lunch. read more

I also got hot chocolate and I saw it was a swiss miss packet, 1 packet for 12 oz cup means it mostly tasted like milk with a hint of chocolate. I really got to love this place and their staff and I ended up having breakfast here every day I was in Lake Placid because of their exceptional food and yummy coffee! I tried a bunch of different bagels their everything, poppy seed, cinnamon raisin, and sesame seeds with different cream cheeses and bacon egg and cheese as well. All were super tasty! I also really enjoyed their muffins, cookies, and pastries lol yes I had to try just about everything. Their iced coffee was fresh and made properly with brewed coffee chilled and not just old coffee thrown into a pot and iced. They have lots of flavor shots and even non-dairy creamers which was a big plus to me. Pricing was great and they were open every day with some seating outside available as well.
